80 miles is a pretty significant chunk of real estate to cross, let alone accurately. You'd need almost V-2 levels of fuel, which means liquid O2 or some nasty peroxide type of shit, and lots of it. Highly volatile, and an overall pain in the ass.

I'd look at making a smaller product capable of achieving a klick or two of range, and use a time delay system to put it in place and initiate it.

Trying to pick a CCW

I think I've narrowed it down to three options:
Ruger SR, Beretta PX4, Steyr S

Notice these all have .40 S&W models actually designed for that round. You assume I'm talking 9mm, but since /k/ is going to point me towards a +P anyway and I do well shooting a subcompact 45, I'm very much considering the 40 S&W models and shooting heavier bullets which have inherently less recoil. 40 S&W is flooding and it's a very good value now bang for buck, so overall to stock up on something, this seems to be it.

If I wanted more manageable recoil, I'd get a 380 over a 9mm and the frames for 45 are too fat/heavy for carry.

No regrets on the 45 subcompact, it's too fun to shoot at the range. I'm keeping it even if it's impractical for carry.

I hear the PX4 in 40 S&W in particular has very mellow recoil, and 180+ grain 40 SW is a cakewalk.

Poorfag here, just got my first gun and want to set it up in a home defense configuration but I got a few questions that need answers. First of all are there any cheap and good heat shields that work with the magpul forend without modification? My friend is going to sell me his 18.5 inch barrel and magpul shit for cheap. Secondly what's a good shell saddle to buy? and lastly how would I go about adding a choke to it?
pic related; it's my mossberg 500

Just put on the 18" barrel and be done with it. Keep it simple and it will serve you well.

Out of curiosity, why the hell do you need a heat shield (other than that it's aesthetic). Unless you're going IV8888 with it, you should be fine.

As for shells to buy, Federal, Remington, and Winchester are always safe bet. For self defense, 00 buck and slugs will do you good depending on location (apartment vs rural respectively). Salt rounds for tagging and less than lethal. Cheap slug rounds can be made from an ol' trick according to the dead ghost of Barry.
>>
>>33994559
Nice collection you got there. I guess I just felt like decking it out since it's my first gun and everything
>>33994579
Basically just for the aesthetic, makes it look 2 times nicer in my opinion but it's not a top priority and I know the trick you're referring to. cut shells right?

I've decided that for a new deer/black bear rifle I want to build a Mauser sporter from the ground up, starting with a military rifle

Stock, trigger, polish the action, bolt handle, etc. might consider a rebarrell but I would be fine with 8, or 7 Mauser for hunting.

Right now my two deer rifles are a ruger 77 7mag, and a cz527, so I consider myself Mauser fan, but idk much about the actual military rifles
What Mauser do you think is the best choice? Which Mauser is most easily customized?

I'd prefer one with some barrel length as I like some weight forward for free hand shooting

I'd also like to keep the price reasonable

What do you guys think?

>>33993766
I would really rather you wouldn't use an actual military rifle unless you find one that's already been sporterized.

Do you have any particular attachment to the mauser bolt? Or would something like a Remington 700 / Tikka barreled action work? You could also get an enfield barreled action and have a different experience to your other boltguns with cock-on-close versus cock-on-open.

I'm wanting to get into trap shooting. I'm planning on joining a gun club with a trap range, but I need an entry level over-under shotgun.

Does /k/ like the Stoeger Field Condor or Mossberg Silver Reserve II better?

how many seconds does it take to get a loaded firearm in your hand(s) at home/apartment ?

standing in front of my lockbox it takes about 10 seconds to open, get gun & magazine, insert & rack the slide

then depending on where i am & what i'm doing it can take another 10 seconds to get to lockbox, unless i'm in bathroom then i'm doomed

sometimes i keep a revolver in a gun rug close by that takes about 2 seconds

less than 2 probably. you got kids op? live in a cuck state?

Question for you fellows.

Restrictive gun laws vs. Restrictive ammo laws.

Like monitored usage and limited amounts, Gun ranges and what have you would be more or less exempt.

Add in a thing for hunters to have more for hunting trips and what not.

>The focus would basically be on the idea that you don't have enough munitions to get up to shit with.

Is something in that ball park more or less repulsive than strict gun control?

>Yes I know of handloading, not sure how that would work under the ammo control idea
