Actual 7.62x51mm NATO barrels is really quite rare on the open market, all sporters or civilian variants of 7.62x51mm NATO guns have their barrels swapped for .308 barrels, or built with them from the ground up.
You'd basically have to find some kind of old bringback or a stolen military gun registered back during the the MG amnesty (but I guess the latter isn't relevant since you're a canuck), and even then those were more often than not converted because people wanted to actually shoot them.
It's in extremely few people's interest to have actual NATO chambers so you basically don't see it in commercially produced and traded weapons.

I've been daydreaming about a Colt Single Action Army for awhile now. Just seems like an iconic piece of american fun. Is the standard 5.5" barrel the way to go? Anybody have a preference in 45 colt versus 357? The price tag has me hurting a bit though 2000 for new and no finding much of a discount on used models on gunbroker and such. Are the Uberti knockoffs a viable alternative?

Uberti are the closest to the original design. The biggest departure from the original is the inclusion of a hammer safety (feasible to load all 6 in a cylinder safely) and the way it retains the cylinder pin. I have 2 of the Hombre model because I prefer the look of the brass backstrap and 4 3/4in barrel balances better in my hand.

Questions /k/
I was shooting my .50 CVA muzzleloader a few.minutes ago at the range.
The last shot I got peppered by particulate in the forehead and it hurt. I was wearing goggles.
I inspected the rear of the barrep and saw my nipple had clean disappeared. This was at least the 5th or 7th shot of the day.
How do you tell if it was the threads on the.nipple that shat the bed or the threads in tue barrel? Because I am hoping that it isn't the barrel, because then gun is dead.
I took off the nipple every time I shot it to clean it.
I did notice last time I put the nipple on, it spun freely instead of coming to a full stop, but thought nothing of it.
Can you overtighten nipples?

I'm about to get my handgun license, and for my first gun I want a HK in .45 (because of weird gun laws, I need to get a .45 first)
My choices are:
USP TACTICAL
HK45 TACTICAL
MK23
I want the threaded barrel so I can shoot it outside with a suppressor without bothering the neighbors to much.
The MK23 is my favorite, just because how cool it is. But is the extra price worth it? I can get the HK45 much cheaper, and its a newer design. And how is the USP compared to them?
Price isn't really an issue, since it gonna be expensive no matter what. Its only going to be used on a range, and competition in the pistol club.
