>There are people who carry 1911s and unironically think they can effectively defend themselves with it
Do you like being dead or something?
The 1911 is a FULL SIZED handgun that only carries 7 shots in the mag, you know what also carries a similar number of shots? a Glock 43, which is compact handgun that's significantly smaller than a 1911 and also cheaper
The 1911's MSRP is 700$, that's the same price as the significantly better USP or an FNX, which carry more rounds and come with a threaded barrel
So, anons who carry 1911s, what the fuck are you doing? explain yourselves
>>34023769
>thinking the 1911 is limited to 7 shots
Pump yo brakes, kid. If someone can carry it comfortably, why not let them? Have you ever shot a proper 1911? They have really good triggers. Like, really good.
And stop being poor.

Unless you're comfortable carrying fucklong mags it is.
>They have really good triggers
So does 90 percent of today's handguns.

Dude, the sun is how many times bigger than the earth? If its crashing into us, were all fucked. Good job with picking a retarded scenario, you retard.
It's going to be like this all summer, isn't it?

For general French Foreign Legion chat, but also I was researching the French Foreign Legion and decided to do a search of the archives of /pol/ to see what their opinion of it was, and came alone this post http://archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/123285444/#q123288411
>Enlistment is a bitch with of the first year recruitment class over 20% picking up some career limiting injury. They will drive you hard. Not USMC hard, we are talking Russian general infantry hard.
What did he mean by this? Was he implying that Russian general infantry was harder than USMC? I don't know much about the subject.

>Was he implying that Russian general infantry was harder than USMC?
The Russians have pretty much zero regard for their troops and kick the ever living shit out of them for general purpose and entertainment. Zero fucks given.
The U.S. military doesn't do that, and if they did, the NCO or Officer would get hammered and kicked the fuck out for being a shithead.
The FFL pretty much has the same disregard for their troops, so NCO's will fuck with them just because they can. Hence, the high desertion rates in the shitty FFL.
>>34022825
>What did he mean by this?
FFL boot & training is way more physical than USMC.
As a rule, legionnaires run and hard march everywhere. In full pack when needed.
Most other western armies limit such activities because they wear out knees and backs damn fucking fast. The FFL doesn't give a shit. Legionnaires are expendable assets (though they do not intend on just wasting them in combat either).
>Was he implying that Russian general infantry was harder than USMC?
FFL has a lot more hazing (though less raping than with the russians).

just bought an ak pistol. Is this actually a thing or is it a dumb meme. How does that fire?
can a soilder ever question orders if he or she feels like it's questionable like shooting civilians lol

If some company made a Mini M1 in 5.56 complete with little En Bloc clips, would you buy one? Kind of like the Mini 14 only sexier.
>>34019691
No that would be more retarded than the fact that mini 14s can't use stanag, and would probably cost more than a garand.
>>34019748
but the tiny pings!!!

Kind of like the Mini 14 only accurate.
Anybody with fetishes they cant describe?
I love single shot rifles and shotguns and their simplicity. Like a pardner or a Martini Henry

Back when I was a kid i put some apple seeds up my ass, and took a shit in the woods near my grandparent's house (I had just learned about how shit spread seeds). Around the same time I discovered that jacking off felt good, so I'd sneak into the woods and jack off. For some reason, I really liked to cum on the place I had buried my apple seed shit, and did so for quite some time.
Kind of thought that my cum would make the apple tree grow big and strong, idk
>>34018980
Well, did it?

I am sexually aroused by members of the female sex belching and farting.
Why do people complain about 5.56 NATO but nobody complains about 5.45?

People complain about literally ever common cartridge.
Where have you been?

Why would russiaboos complain about something Russian?

Why do they do this /k/?
Eventually somebody will buy them.
The saying "more money than sense" is not just an old timey meme.
There are real people like that.

if you see something you like, you wait until the end of the show when they're getting ready to pack shit up. that is when you start your haggling, plebian
this may come as a complete surprise to you because of your daft naivte' but if you do it right there is a difference between asking price and selling price

How many of us are still here? I just got approved for my Sullivan County pistol permit. Planning on picking up a 1911A1 from Thruway this Tuesday.

I'm always glad to see that Ulster county is opposed to the safe act. We might be full of assholes from the city but there are enough rural people left to tell them to fuck off.
>How many handguns do you collect?
>>34017751
As much as im allowed
Currently own
a CZ 75B (favorite)
Sig p226
Springfield 1911 TRP
And a glock 19 and 20 (hate them both to be honest, uncomfortable compaired to ones above, the 20 (10mm) has shit accuracy at 50+ yards, and the 19 is by far the worst 9mm in my arsenal)
I also got a Ruger GP100 i enjoy the hell out of.
OP here
I have about 16 guns in total
9 Rifles
7 Handguns
Have had over 20 for sure but sold a bunch
>>34017751
Have had 26ish over the last two years but I'm poor and fickle with my tastes so I only have 1-3 at a time.
>>34017858

>>34017652

Well, except for physics.
There was once serious consideration of mounting two 105mm guns on a Chinook. but it was rejected because it would make the chinook too slow.
>The firearm is designed to function under normal conditions

I heard they're replacing the M9 with the P320 in the military? Full and compact, iirc? I don't know much about them, mind telling me the pros and cons about them, /k/?
>>34016936
Pros:
Striker fired =consistent trigger pull.
Changeable grip
Nice trigger
Cons:
Polymer
Lighter trigger pull than M9 DA means more nd's and dead soldiers
More prone to rust because sig
Finish basically rubs off
>>34016986
>Lighter trigger pull than M9 DA means more nd's and dead soldiers
I'm betting you believe the first generation M9's exploded and decapitated the shooter too.
Pros: lighter, higher capacity for its size, better trigger, better safety position, simpler, easier to maintain
Cons: retards will shoot themselves more often because no 10lb inch long DA pull
What's the smallest caliber you feel safe using for self defense? I carry 9mm in a P07, but I would not mind something smaller if it works for defense.
I'd say .380 is pretty much the cut off line.
>>34016489
As my first line?
Probably 9x18 makarov, though I would begrudgingly go down to .32 ACP.
As a backup though, I'd go down to .25 ACP though I'd prefer .32 ACP or bigger.
>>34016489
.380 is the FBI standard cutoff desu senpai.
I could go down to a .32 Keltec with FMJ if I had to, but normally I carry a gen3 G19 with Federal HST.
