So why did the US military completely gloss over the 7.62x39?
>>34030948
I don't think you understand how much our grand parents hated Communists. Damn sure wasn't going to use their weapon.
>>34030973
Not necessarily any combloc gun that fired it, just the cartridge itself
>>34030948
idk but i wish they would have the russian guns all look way cooler
What is the deadliest hammer you can buy?

I'm trying to reassemble my glock 19 after installing a new trigger (NY1 + 3.5 connector) I can't get the last fucking pin in there. I realized that the trigger housing assembly is out of line with the hole in the grip, pic related, but I can't make it move. i've tried gently pushing it down with my punch. I've tried putting pressure on the trigger assembly while I push the last pin in. It doesn't work.
What do?
>>34030836
Make sure the connector is fitting properly and isn't bent (especially if you went ultra poorfag and bought a Ghost)
>>34030836
lol thought that picture was a whale for a second
>>34030836
It's not very prefect of you have to buy aftermarket parts to improve it.
What does the forward assist do? From what I understand, there's nothing that it does that can't be done by using the charging handle.
>enlighten me on forward assists
I wish I could tell you but Im an AK fag
>>34030746
ive always though it was for if for whatever reason the bolt doesnt move all the way forward you could use it to push it but the more i hear about stealthy ways of charging i think its more for that.
If you do a brass check you tap the forward assist just to make sure the bolt is fully closed

I'm really looking forward to critical care in the fall semester. I thought it was interesting just how well the schizophrenics I talked to perfectly matched up with the common delusions and symptoms despite them having completely different subject matter.
For the love of god I cannot decide. Please help me. Because of my situation I can only get black powder cap and ball revolvers and then conversion cylinders to use cartridges.
The 1873 single action army cattleman can get a 12 shot 22lr conversion cylinder. Pro is more shots and easy to get cheap rim fire ammo. Cons is 22lr plinking power and more expensive overall.
The Remington 1858 conversion is a 6shot 45 long colt cylinder. Pro is more power, con is can only use low velocity cowboy cartridges because still a cap and ball pistol.
I'm so torn, I'll be using it for everything so I need the best balance overall.
If you could only choose between one of these single actions would you want 12 shots of 22lr or 6 of 45 long colt. No I cannot buy regular modern handguns, no I am not a felon, no I am not United States just visiting, yes this is a pain and probably not ok for me to do but my family is in danger. Please /k your opinions!
>>34030535
I would go with the .45 colt. It used to be a black powder cartridge and it still killed people plenty
>>34030535
>hi I'm not a felon t. wifebeater
top one is a cartridge firearm dumbass
bottom one becomes a cartridge firearm once you put the conversion cylinder in it.
correct answer for an american citizen or permanent resident is a uberti cimarron 1858 remington factory cartridge conversion because those guns are fucking sex
foreigners looking for a taste of freedom before returning to serfdom should just rent a machinegun or two like all the gooks/euros do.
>>34030616
Fuck you and your useless post. In the circumstance I am talking about both pistols are originally sold as cap and ball black powders, and only become 22lr or 45LC after installing the respective conversion cylinder. You stupid shit I cannot get the factory installed conversion I have to do the cylinder swap on my own. Jesus Christ in fuck it's like you didn't even read what I wrote originally. Go ass touch yourself.
Seriously anyone? 12 of 22lr or 6 of 45 long colt?
Explain something to me /k/. The Nagant revolver achieves a gas seal by having the fired case bulge and expand into the barrel. People always say that a gas sealed revolver isn't practical because it requires weird ammo like the Nagant, but this doesn't seem to be the case, as normal cases can bulge the same way. To make a gas sealed revolver in a normal chambering, all you'd need to do is shove the round down the barrel past the exposed bullet, no?
>>34030525
The "normal" chamberings A: won't have enough room in the case for the powder charge and the entire bullet, and B: seating a bullet that far down even on a reduced charge can still lead to over pressuring the cartridge. This is exactly why 7.62x38r was developed
>>34030525
is the mechanical complexity to do this worth the slight increase in muzzle velocity?
The answer is no
>>34030669
>Won't have enough room for the powder charge and the entire bullet
What the hell are you on about? I'm saying you could do this with something like .38 special, and just push the round into the barrel past the exposed part of the bullet.
>>34030687
Moving the cylinder forward a bit each trigger pull is a very simple thing to do.
Go to Gander Mountain to check out there closing sales
See two Mini-14's sitting on their rack
They wanted like $830 but with their closing sale discount its like $807
Stand there for a while, really considering buying it. I could use a nice little semi-auto rifle
I could move some cash around and buy that rifle, Id have to tighten my belt until my job starts in a few weeks but I could do it...
I end up deciding against it, 800+ is still kinda pricey, even when its on sale
Go to Wal-Mart a few days later, see another Mini-14 sitting in their gun section for $770
Felt kind of relieved I didn't splurge on that one at Gander
Is this why they are closing down their stores?
Even when having a closing sale, they are still expensive...
Any other gun buying stories to share?
Tips about Mini-14's? I still want to buy one soon and I think I may be getting that one at Wal-Mart.
Redmond Oregon here. The one at my store is $729 and near black Friday we get 25% off everything so I'll get one then.
>>34030521
>go to gander mountain
>"sales"
>theyre selling the furniture
>walk out the doors with a shitty used smith & wesson and a mannequin
gun was about the right price too.
>>34031105
At Wal-Mart? I didn't realize their guns went on sale as well. I guess I can wait until then and get it.
Was looking at a Colt retro AR in my LGS today. What's with the auto sear pocket only having one notch cut out? To stop people from dropping F/A parts in?
Yep! You're exactly right.
>>34030407
Compare this to the other retro AR there. This pocket is different. Why do they have to be different?
>>34030409
But on F/A M16s, doesn't the pocket need to be milled out anyway? That seems like it would make it easier.
>.-t, someone who only ever saw/shot a full-gun AR in the US on a trip
I fell for the meme

>>34030135
Two sand bags and a pair of balls.

Ditto on the balls. 3 sand bags
>>34030135
>people getting proper big bore hunting guns that don't know how to sight them in, or handle recoil and want a device to take it for them
God damn it just buy a 3.5" shotgun and a couple hundred shells of 2 1/4 ounce turkey shot. It'll be cheaper than wasting good 458 ammo and it'll teach you how not to be a total bitch.
Two sand bags, some ammo, and a pair of balls, fpbp.
/k/ would our modern armaments be strong of enough to kill supernatural creatures or creatures once thought to be urban legend?
Vampires, Wolves, dogmen, demons, angels other spooky creature?
Or will our weapons be useless?

silver bullets
holy water bullets

No, you will never be able to fight any 2hus because you can't fly and none of them are real.
Why does /k/ hate swords?
>>34029966
/k/ Does? There are sword threads here often desu
No one hates swords, it's just that discussion trends towards more relevant and effective weapons, nothing against them
In terms of modern day use it is completely pointless.
In terms of usability it requires a lot of practice to become proficient with vs something like a mace or a flail or a spear or an ax or etc etc etc etc
The look cool on walls though.
I experienced a meme become reality yesterday...

Rental gun at a range I was working at. I still can't believe that people are this retarded.

I just bought a Norinco SKS (for $300) because memes. It did not have a bayonet. Got one off Amazon for $15. When I put it on it looks like pic related. I know I have fucked up somehow. Any suggestions on how I dun goofed or solutions?
