Would you join a paramilitary organization? Would you follow a large leader into battle?
>>34045540
that picture is badass
>>34045540
i would go into the battle then hang back and bail and if we win i still get paid
if they lose and everyone would die i have a chance of living because i can just leave
>>34045540
>a large leader
how large?
My premise is that over the next 20 years, the hotspot for wars and proxy wars will be the Middle East.
Based on what we have learned from previous conflicts, from a US perspective is:
The US population has a very low tolerance for casualties
The liberal media will be more harsh against conservative Presidents than Liberal ones during times of combat
The region is known for long range stand off harassment while probing for weak points and then rushing those weak points
CAS is getting expensive in lost aircraft and lives
Collateral damage will be on every news station within hours whether actual or fabricated by the enemy.
One fix is even more drones firing Hydra 70 rockets. They come in many munition choices including guided for low collateral damage and flechette because there is something scary as hell as getting strafed with flesh ripping darts.
The drones can take pictures to document all actions to show good kills.
Drones don't die, don't come home in a casket wrapped in a flag, can't be captured and beheaded, and can't become a statistic to weaken morale.
I like the Hydra 70 system because mavericks to kill people is pretty cost prohibitive, especially out in the open with no chance of collateral damage.
We should have enough to both scout for intelligence and provide fire support to forward elements.
Could be a quick reaction response to surveillance balloons identifying unusual activity (IED planting, weapons running, etc.)
Pilots won't like it, but it is the future, as much as cars replaced horses. We still have horses, they are just used for different things.
What do you think the best weapons platform for future drones (fixed and rotary wing)?

My premise is that over the next 20 years, the hotspot for wars and proxy wars will be the same place it has been for the last 27 years
Wow such insight
>CAS is getting expensive in lost aircraft and lives
In terms of lost aircraft and lives, CAS is the cheapest it has ever been.
>Collateral damage will be on every news station within hours whether actual or fabricated by the enemy.
No. Liveleak maybe.
>The drones can take pictures to document all actions to show good kills.
Useful how?
>Could be a quick reaction response to surveillance balloons identifying unusual activity (IED planting, weapons running, etc.)
Requiring thousands of people to sit behind BH/WH screens in air-conditioned trailers 24/7 to monitor every inch of the middle east. Doesn't seem practical.
Is there such a thing as impregnability in the modern age?
>>34044941
Yes. Trump's border wall.

>>34044941
Uranus is impregnable, your anus is not.
>Sorry, I haven't been able to shit post all day

Why are navies still a thing that exist? The whole point of a navy is to pick up troops from one piece of land, and transfer them across the water to another piece of land, and planes are much superior to boats in that and every other regard.
>defense of coastline
Planes can do that too
>sending supplies to soldiers in foreign lands
Planes can do that too
>b-but submarines!
Are meant to down boats, if there were no boats there would be no need for submarines
It's 2017 people, the ocean is completely irrelevant in modern warfare.
Without using ships, please explain the best logistical way to transport heavy armor (M1) and large quantities of arms and ammunition from one place to another.
>Planes can do that too
Planes have a limited loiter time
>Planes can do that too
In significantly smaller shipments
>Are meant to down boats, if there were no boats there would be no need for submarines
What about missile subs?
Simply the most worthless shitpost thread imaginable.

AF fag detected.
In 1221 the Muslim city of Nishapur killed Genghis Khan's son in law and rioted against mongol rule. At the request of his daughter, Genghis killed every inhabitant of the city and the region round about. 1.7 million in one day. He never had a problem with Persian Muslims again.
Is this take a life, lose a city strategy even viable today? For every terrorist attack we level an ISIS held city?

So, yes you get the idea; its quite possible, just not the solution for all muslim related problems that you should follow, in fact it falls more along the lines of "When you have a hammer every problem looks like a nail"
I'm starting college pretty soon and want a handgat to keep me safe from Brock Turners, UT Austin stabber guy, and pic related. But I'm also a 2nd Amendment fag and really want a first rifle. I have years of rifle experience, but have barely fired pistols. Current inventory is a Remington 870 and a Ruger MkIII.
I've narrowed my choices to a stainless .357Mag Ruger New Vaquero or a PTR 91. I already have a boatload of magazines for the PTR. There are no rifle ranges near me, but I might be able to use someone's land.
http://www.strawpoll.me/13027057
Which should I choose? Or is there something better? Thanks for your input anons.
If you really want a hand gun for protection get a semi auto. If youre looking to keep it in a dorm room having a fuck huge rifle probably isn't the best especially if you get snowflake room mates. That's assuming you're even allowed to have a firearm in the dorm which I doubt you'll be allowed. Hiding a hand gun is much easier and you'll probably want something with more than 6 shots that can reload under a minute. Sig, hk, s&w, and glock are all good brands to start looking at. That's just my opinion tho.

For $400 this is the best backyard beater I ever owned(to me, a katana wasn't made in Japan with a price tag $3500.00, is a back yard beater). $3500,by the way, is the going rate for a differential temper L6 super steel sword, Edge RCH 67-so bear in mind you can't sharpen them your self without a $1000.00 carbide jig.
