I recently picked up this slimmed down sort of MRE called a MORE. And I was wondering what you guys think of these, are the regular MREs by themselves not enough for troops in certain locations? I'm assuming there is a lot less calories than a regular MRE because these things are for in addition rather than instead of. And there is no heating device either.
I found a video online of a guy unboxing the same MRE I got
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxsveIugJvo
I think Ill stick to just making homemade MREs.
>picture unrelated.
>tfw want to buy enormous case of MREs/FSRs etc to bring to work for lunch because they're convenient as fuck dont want to come off as a wannabe
>>34079327
You want to bring an MRE for lunch at work?
MREs are shit only favored by tacticool cancerfaggots.
freeze dried civilian food like mountain house is leagues ahead
>The big problem with the F-15 is its size. It can be seen a long way away. Also, the engines are supposed to be smoke-free, but they do smoke a bit. Would I like to change the F-15? Yes. I'd like to make it smaller if I could.
-Major Charles Casey
>and lo, the F-22 exists
>>34077452
Of we only had a stealthy version of the f15.....
But seriously, the f15 is probably the best/ most successful fighter ever made.
It's track record speaks for itself.
>>34077588
It is. I just wrote an essay about it. 105-0. Fucking unreal
In the Spanish-American War, the USS Maine was sunk to a naval mine in 1898 in a harbor in Havana. How did countries keep track of where they put them, specifically Spain.
The Maine probably sank because the crew was careless with powder storage. The whole war existed just to sell William Randolph Hearst's newspapers.
>>34077414
They, in the case of naval mines, created maps with regions essentially being marked "filled with death" and "not filled with death".
The problem is with land mines. Those fucks never get totally cleaned up which is why Europe was post WW 1 and the middle east, Asia and Africa are such horrifying messes. Because no one could say for certain where every mine, shell and bomb was.
>>34077487
Let's not pretend those places wouldn't have been shitholes otherwise.
Come one, everyone, let's wallow in self pity on an anonymous Tajikistani yak trading forum on a Friday night.

Let's see what you faggots are building.
I'm closing in on my enfield rechambered in 7.62x39. Just finished chambering. cutting the extractor slot tomorrow and maybe working on the magazine.
The rifle was a sporterized piece of shit I got in a trade, trust me I'm doing it a favor.
>>34076937
Shit that's actually really interesting.
What all have you done to make it readily shoot 7.62x39?
What are you going to do for magazines?
Is the bolt face size of x39 the same as .303?
I made a thing to help organize my ammo cans today
>>34076937
I put this kit together a couple days ago

What's the border militias' obsession with doing foot patrols? I've been watching Militia Rising and other stuff on the Tube, and while it's obviously edited to be biased and sensational, it became clear that border militias have a fixation on doing foot patrols.
It seems to me that it would make infinitely more sense to set up camouflaged, semi-permanent observation posts. Add in some dedicated night vision and thermal monitoring (some of these dudes clearly already drop cash) and a commo system and you've got a system that makes far better use of limited manpower. It could even be multipled by seeding various trail cams to use for remote surveillance. Sitting on an LPOP doing nothing but watching and being quiet sucks, but it is a lot more likely to get a glimpse of illegal activity.
Or am I overthinking this Armyman Dressup game?
>>34076565
>Or am I overthinking this Armyman Dressup game?
That's pretty much all it is for these guys. Go hiking with pals, but with the imagined fear of gunbattles.
Actually sounds kind of cool.
>>34076658
Forgot to mention thanks to Trump the numbers crossing are way down, so less need anyway.
I remember i read an article where a militia group did just that. They set up an observation post an reportes illegal activity. For the documentary in question they may have only shown the patrols. Also the members probably have jobs and when they get time off a militia patrol sounds more exciting to do than sitting and doing nothing
Me and my friend where at the range today shooting my CZ-75 SP-01 when I decided to get him to rent a USP compact in 9mm because I had never shot one before. I was incredibly disappointed.

>>34076400

>>34076400
>I know it's a Sig
that's three reasons then.
Is it a good idea to use improvised metal for a .22 rifle , like frying pans or thick pots or scrap?
I've read on some forums that anything but purpose made AR500 steel targets can cause unpredictable ricochets / fracturing and are dangerous
>>34076367
>I've read on some forums that anything but purpose made AR500 steel targets can cause unpredictable ricochets
It can.
A dude I shoot with took a huge chunk of copper jacket to the arm because he was shooting at steel that wasn't hard enough, would dent and form bowls, which sent the round he fired right back at him.
If you need feed-back, then buy a case of clays used for skeet and trap, or shoot tin and aluminum cans. Don't shoot at any steel your round can't cleanly punch through, and you should be alright.
>>34076420
>then buy a case of clays used for skeet and trap
Great suggeestion, thank-you
>>34076420
but how do i know if it can cleanly punch through without shooting it
/k/, what do those pulse rifles fire?

Is the m&p shield /k/ approved as a daily carry gun? Gander has their firearms 10% off which combined with the rebate brings it to about $325. Buying it for my wife.
>>34075959
Yes. Dry fire before you buy to make sure it fits your hand.
>>34075959
Yep.
Fuck S&W, and Springfield. Traitors to gun rights, both of them. They'd sell you a gun today even if it meant you'd lose all your children's rights.
Get a glock.
