Can anyone adequately explain why this shit hole doesn't have better/more accessible public range facilities? Your choices are: 1)damn near Decatur or 2)damn near Scottsboro 3)range officer fuckery of the third fudd kind to shoot at Sharon Johnston Park. Probably why there is almost zero competitive shooting in the area.

I have heard there will be a new indoor range called Bullet and Barrel at the corner of Leeman Ferry Road & Johnson Road but IDGAF about indoor. I likes to choot outside.

Rocket city practical shooters is a big club with a very nice facility and does almost any shooting sport you can think of, and Brocks gap training facility in Birmingham is the same.

They're just very exclusive and selective in membership, and for good reason. Members are allowed to bring guests, and that's how you start into becoming a member.

MD. AFAIK it's legal everywhere after that recent supreme court case that declared tasers protected by the 2nd. The counties here that banned them, un-banned them to be compliant with the ruling.

In most states the taser Is legal to carry. There is open vs concealed carry. The taser or mace is fine on your belt in some states, for instance.

Burger here. I was reading a lot of stuff recently on if I moved to tea and krumpets land, how could manage as a gun enthusiast or even simply a gun owner. Few things I found out:

1) you need a safe for both your funs and your ammo and they can't be in the same room and they can't be where visitors usually travel. Good example would be to just put one in the closet and one in the closet's bedroom or two closets in the bedroom if you have 2
2) youre only allowed 1000 rounds of any caliber up to 50bmg. 1001 and youre done for m80
3) I see you're good on the club part if you can find one to let you in. From what I hear, it's hard. After that though, just keep your psych exam checked out and youre good for your shotgun and firearms licenses. I'm not sure about the different classifications of licenses. I think they go from type 1 to 5, and 5 I think covers SA centerfire, maybe. Research moar
4) 22lr is the only viable semi-auto round you can have if you want SA funs. Idk much about the other rimfires, but they're good too for the most part. Reason why is because rimfire cases can't be reused like centerfire cases can
4a) reusing your (centerfire) cases is illegal. You have to buy new ammo, every time. Period.
5) carrying is illegal unless it's in a case to be carried to its usage spot. Research moar
6) funs with barrels under 30.5cm and overall length under 61cm are illegal unless theyre black powder. There are absurd mods to standard pistols you can make to fit these requirements. Research moar
7) centerfire calibers can't be semi-auto. You'd need to get a special permit for it and yeah, it's pretty much a fruitless endeavor so, stick with things like the straight pull lever mods, Troy PAR AR-15, VZ58 MARS, etc

own progress among the 4 skills. The simplest badge I can envision would be a piece of 2"x3" kydex worn as a patch with colored tape corresponding to your own progress. It's not a flag, so the badge would always be "read" from left to right. There would be a zillion ways to make this your own thing:
>kydex patch with vertical color codes
>kydex patch broken into quadrants with or without stencils
>4 pieces of paracord on either wrist - the string closest to your elbow would be for Weapons/Shooting and the one closest to your hand would be for Medicine
>4 stripes of tape (or paint) on a magazine with tape for Weapons/Shooting near the top of the mag and the one Medicine near the baseplate.

We can decide on what are acceptable levels of skill here are my suggestions:
Weapons Shooting:
>Orange: No pistol, rifle, or shotgun
>Black: Owns a pistol, rifle, or shotgun
>Grey: Can hit a target at 300yards with iron sights
>Black: From 7 yards put 2 shots into a 10" target with a rifle, transition to 2 shots with a pistol, change rifle magazines and take 2 more shots (we'd have to decide on a time limit.
Communications:
>Orange: Doesn't own a radio
>Black: Owns at least a cheap Chinese radio
>Grey: Has a Ham Technician license
>Black: Has a Ham Generalist license
Survival
>Orange: Doesn't own basic equipment to survive overnight
>Black: Has a bug-out bag with minimal equipment
>Grey: Has done a solo overnight innawoods. Has made fire without matches/lighter
>Black: Has done a solo 3-night innawoods.
Medicine:
>Orange: No equipment/no training
>Black: Has an IFAK or blowout kit
>Grey: Has Red Cross First Aid certification
>Black: Has taken Combat/Trauma course or works as medical first responder (or is a fucking murse or doctor)
