/k/ what is it with the cult of human loaders?
As far as I know, no country which has produced and adopted autoloaded tanks have ever switched back to manually loaded tanks. While all countries which has produced both manually loaded tanks and autoloaded tanks now only produce autoloaded tanks. So if manually loaded tanks are better than autoloaded tanks, how come nobody with actual experience producing and operating both thinks so?

This pistol has two tiny recoil springs contained in its grip, that use levers to act on the slide. This allows it to have a more compact slide and smaller overall package. Why isn't this type of recoil spring used in modern pistols?

So my local gun store has a lot of used .40 caliber handguns that aren't moving, and are just sitting on the shelf.
I make deals with them all the time, I know the owners, workers, and have low key worked there on and off now and again, helped them with specialized knowledge and such.
How good/bad of an idea would it be to offer to purchase every .40 caliber handgun they have at spot cost(The cost they paid for it) + $20 bucks per gun?
I'm pretty sure I could convince the owner to do it, but I'm at a loss on if I SHOULD.
For the record I already have all the guns that I need and want, but a good deal is a good deal.
Tell me your hot opinions /k/.

I have an FNX-45. It is great because it comes from the factory with a mount for a micro red dot and it has a 15+1 capacity with 3 mags. Its a big pistol and has good controls. I like mine a lot. If you can I'd try shooting the HK45 and the FNX.

Then don't go tactical. If it's for home defense, I'd go FNX45 just on capacity alone. Both are reliable, have good finishes, pretty aesthetic, and are durable. Hk45 has better ergonomics though. Handle both if possible
Consider the USP 45 match or expert, not as good ergos as the hk45, but better trigger and looks imo

What would the recoil of one of these be like between the .45 Colt, .357 and .44?
I'm interested in the .44 as a trail gun and just something fun to shoot since I've always loved SA revolvers. But if I wanted to do the typical movie cowboy shit, would a .44 be too hard to shoot single handed? What would be the best barrel length to get?

As someone who also wants a .44 super blackhawk, I would never fire it one-handed. I fired a redhawk (which I think is heavier than all but the 10.5" blackhawk) and the recoil was considerable. I'm not the strongest guy in the world but I'd like to think I do alright, so I guess my advice if you were to one-hand one is to handle it like a hand cannon and expect muzzle rise (ride with it, as it were).
as far as barrel length the 10.5" seems almost comical to me so I'm personally looking at the 7.5"
