I almost got arrested today target shooting with my wife's son (fiance's sister's husband's son) because we were like 470 feet from a house instead of 500 and I guess a bunch of the nearby houses or maybe people in the price chopper parking lot complained. We're lucky the DEC guy showed up first because he was basically like alright guys let's pack it in before the city and staties showed. The faggots don't even know the law, they were bugging me about my 10 round mags in NY. First guy was cool, going "you're only loading 6 rounds, RIGHT, you're only putting like 6 rounds in the SKS, RIGHT" and I just went along with it second guy was more of a Dick and I was like "yeah bud I'm pretty sure that got struck down I bought it at a gander mountain in NY" and he kept flexing his cop nuts but let it go. The SKS doesn't even have a detachable magazine, the faggots. How much trouble would I have been in for the 500 foot law? I would have been livid if they arrested me over the magazines and I had to drive back here 4 hours from my home for the judge to tell the cop he's retarded

Looking for a "lazy" IWB holster to strap on when I go to walgreens after dark to get snacks, which is pretty much the only time I wear my gun anyway

-hard kydex that protects trigger guard and keeps the gun in one place
-easy re holstering process with a *pop* when the gun goes in
-belt loop that won't snap off when drawing
-Easy(ish) to put on with a belt already on.
-Affordability
Doesn't need to be too comfortable. I'm just using it for quick trips.
I'm probably going to just get another Blue Line Concealment holster because that's what I already have (the belt loop model) and I like it, but I want to keep an open mind to alternatives as well. Pic unrelated.

I don't really understand suppressors/silencers. Assuming a closed action, which of these factors affect the lowest decibel:
-FPS from 1000-500
-Volume of suppressor
-Integral vs detachable
-Bore diameter of suppressor
I ask because I've seen only the weakest rounds be truly quiet. Surely an 800gr .500 subsonic should be just as quiet as a 60gr .22 at the same velocity?
Does bolt action vs bolt action make any difference?

Kiwifag here, the suppressor on my .270 does take away some of the initial boom, and does help with recoil. It's a noticeable difference but far from quite. Where it really shines is in the bottom of valleys, the sound doesn't seem to bounce around as much for some reason.
Also suppressed .22s are the shit.

Why hasn't the US military adopted the Tavor? I shot one of these over the weekend and it's fucking awesome. Shit has no recoil at all, extremely compact and ergonomic. Everything feels right about it.

What does /k/ think about a Ruger 10/22 for home defense? I am a poor fag who wants an all around gun. Something to plink with, something cheap, something to hunt with, etc
I already have a J-Frame pocket revolver for conceal carry.
So I figured a 10/22 with a 25 round magazine could fill those other roles.
And if you do recommend... what type of ammo should I have that 25 round mag loaded with?
What is the hottest 40 grain round availble? Ive heard a .22lr out of a rifle barrel has as much energy as a 9mm. If it's a hot 22lr going at 1500fps I'd imagine it would be even more.

Hi /k/,
l found these in my parents garage and was wondering if you could tell me what needs to be done before I can shoot them.
The first is a Mossberg .22 and the second is a Marlin 80 .22 that's missing the bolt and magazine.
I don't know too much about guns but I'd like to shoot the one and put the other one back together.
Should I take the complete one to a gunsmith and have them look at it?
They've both been sitting for decades.
