Just got back from Afghanistan, missed you fucks. Shit got hella boring over there. Anyways,
>Cool deployment stories thread
aaaaand go
You can't shitpost while deployed?
>>34183636
Nope. The wifi was heavily restricted, and I know you would say "just get a VPN, bro" but I have no idea what kind of cyber security they have because I dont keep up with that shit and the possibility of accidentally loading some CP whilst scrolling through /b/ on a government network really turned me away
>>34183660
>>34183628
You've got a TS, don't you?
Alright, I have a gun. I keep it somewhere safe to pull it out if there's an intruder and I took it to the firing range once for fun. It looks so cool.
Now what else can I do with it? Just let it collect dust?
>>34183262
You can stick up your nigger ass every now and then. Maybe microwave it when it's shit encrusted. You can delete this moronic thread and then blow your brains out with it, the world is your oyster really
>>34183262
>took it to the firing range once
Take it again. And again. An again. Until your proficient. And then keep doing it because it's fun.
>>34183262
Your rigjt op absolutly useless, why would you need a baby blender 5000 when you could be buying gender studi es textbooks instead. Here I'll even take it off your hands free if charge
How do people survive bullet wounds on the head? Especially shotgun and rifle wounds, one would think those would be lights out as soon as the trigger is pulled but I dont know. Ive heard of people killing bears with a 22 before too
Its probably more of a B question but since you guys know alot about guns i thought id ask.
Humans are either the most fragile things on the planet or the toughest. Natures weird and scary.

There's already a thread for this.
>>34183042
ctl + f 'music' didn't return anything.
Just picked this up, today. How'd I do?
not bad, amigo
>>34182644
it sucks, clearly you did not rent before buying
>>34182644
Decent enough.
What made you go for this?
Honest question, why do websites like popular science keep trying to convince people that china has the smallest hope of equaling the American military in tech?
r8 my gear, /k/
Pls stop
>>34182565
Your /k/
If you want to laugh at airshitters then just say cunt! No point in disguising it as a r8 me lol thread.
Could ammo counters be useful/viable on a assault rifle? Also a compass/other tools you could set up.
>>34182525
maybe in the fantasy world you prefer to live in, yeah. Better yet would be a hotkey on every gun to auto throw grenades or use a medkit
>>34182525
The would be useful on any weapon if they aren't too big/heavy.
>>34182525
yes and they should also show health levels
hey /k/, maybe you guys can help.
what is the best way to preserve a spent cartridge casing?
>grandfather's funeral was today
>he enlisted in the US Army in 1953
>military burial with rifle salute, 2 soldiers standing guard, flag on coffin
>the American Legion guys doing the rifle salute gave our family the spent casings as a memento
it's already a little tarnished but I would like to prevent further deterioration.
also can you tell me anything about the blank casing? it says "AMA 81" on the bottom. I didn't get a good look but I think the rifles they used for the salute are .30 caliber M1 Garands?
>>34182052
Polish it with a pol cloth and put it in a shadow box, do you have any of your grandpa's ribbons or unit insignia you put in with it? Maybe a photo of him in his dress uniform?
RIP your grandpa anon
>>34182147
*oil cloth, not pol cloth
>>34182052
Polish. Hit it with a clear coat
What happens to all of the shell casings and ammo belt links after a huge firefight in a war zone?
>>34182027
Collected by locals, melted, and sold.
>>34182027
Survivors become brass jews and scrap them.
What did you think? They call a truce and go pick up their spent casings with a broom and a dustpan?
>>34182027
ive seen people scoop them up to sell as scrap.
so mostly that, at least in poor places.
>Should I buy a FA Chauchat?
I do not have any FA guns and I would like to get my first, I can afford a Chauchat right now for around $7k or should I keep hording my saving for a few more months and buy a MG08/15? I am a huge history fan so buying something like this makes much more sense to me than buying a Mac10 or a AC556
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCwP3Dm52Ls&vl=en
only in 7.5 MAS or whatever French round. Then yes, super fun.
>>34181911
its in 8mm lebel
American 180
Would you fight in a modern horse cavalry unit?
>>34181881
Hell yes. I've heard they use some mules in the mountains in Iraq but in the 1970s I think it was portugal had a legit dragoon unit, riding horses with G3s blasting.
>>34181881
I wouldn't join the military in anything but a Western air force or a US Navy aircraft carrier.
>>34181881
GODAMNIT YES
What does /k/ think of the xm42?
>buy xm42
>intruder breaks in
>reach for 870
>decide to solve the problem the right way
>grab XM42 instead
>Can't burglarize a house that doesn't exist
>>34181745
who doesnt want a flamethrower?
>>34181745
I have one, pretty fun.
Wonder why they changed the design.
A couple years back a gas station near me got robbed with a can of lynx and a lighter. Nobody fucks with flames.
I'll start. I picked up a Ruger LCRx 3" with a short grip. I've been carrying aiwb but it digs into me when I'm sitting down. Right now I'm using a cheap nylon holster, any recommendations for a holster/carry method?
Lose some weight
>>34181633
210 and 6 foot. Try again
>>34181660
What a cow. 6' 150lbs skeletal master race reporting in.
In all seriousness, does it dig in to your leg or stomach? I just started aiwb with a p30sk. The lowest setting had the holster digging into my leg. I adjusted the clips lower so the gun sticks up higher, and it's not a problem anymore.
whelp /k/ i done fucked up.
i have squibs in the barrel and can't get them out. probably have to rebarrel.
there's not even a bulge or anything after a couple cylinders of .357 magnum. probably will buy another ruger.
word of advice: if something sounds off, somethings probably wrong.
put a brace behind the barrel (on the cylinder side), get a steel rod and wrap it with some plastic so you're not hitting the rifling. Get a steel hammer (not deadblow or plastic) and start pounding the fuck outta it. Probably trashed anyway though. I sure as fuck wouldn't trust the frame after squibbing.
>>34181607
i've done that. it's a 6" barrel completely full of squibs. like 10 or something (158gr FMJ)
>>34181619
well then you're fucked beyond possibilities. Go rebarrel or send it in to the manufacturer for a "congratulations you fucked up so bad we're amazed but still proud that our gun survived your dumb fuckery" letter or some shit like that. I don't now man, what are you expecting?
