You can drive a screw with a coin instead of a screwdriver, but nobody in his right mind would prefer to use a coin instead of a screwdriver. Likewise, you can use a trigger with a lot of creep (most striker fired designs), but nobody in his right mind would want to. That's why in competitions where accuracy is an important part of a contestant's score, winning competitors almost always use single action hammer fired pistols. The 1911 has plenty of shortcomings, but it's superior trigger is enough to make it better than nearly every other production pistol on the market today.
