hey /k/ how do i get a stock to look like this? Is it just the wood that looks that good, or is the finish really that nice looking? I'm planning on refinishing a RC that currently has a really bad looking stock.

I imagine burl wood would make impressive stocks
>>
>>34197421
It is 90% the wood and 10% the work that went into finishing it.

Highly figured woods like walnut and mapple look great, but, are weeker. All the figure, is weakness.
>>
Very high quality wood that has been prepared correctly + repeated applications of linseed/tung oil. You cannot make a rack grade or mass produced stock look like that no matter how much effort you put in, although you can definitely give it a better finish than something like shellac.

Why did the German in WWII armed their light tanks with 20mm autocanon instead of 37mm gun like other nations? And how did it perform against other light tanks?

Hi guys, I bought this remington 700 used (from 1981) at an antique shop a couple weeks back.

There was almost no information about it, but it's in pretty good shape and came with a scope and leather strap.

My only hangup is that I can't figure out what type of scope I have except that it's made in Japan. The scope rings holding it in place say Weaver USA, but the scope itself has a Japanese quality cert sticker on the bottom.

I'll post more pictures after this.

Oh, BTW

What would be a good affordable basic AR-15 I could get? I'm looking at the Ruger 5.56, but I'm not certain.

So I guess these threads are a weekly thing now?
Ruger is a shit. Go with S&W or Delton. Andersons and bushmasters arent bad either but you will get flack from all the keyboard operators who say theyre bad.

What's wrong with Ruger?

Hey /k/ I shot ten rounds out of an AR without earmuffs the night before last and everything sounds loud and tinny in my right ear. Any of you anons had a similar experience and can tell me how long it took for it to return to normal?

Are the Ruger SR's the ONLY guns with:
* manual safety
* magazine disconnect
* LCI
I have found many other guns with 2, but not all 3.
Should I build a DO NOT BUY list?

>>
>>34196743

rugers are awesome

if you don't want the LCI ramp get the 9E

walther ppk/s has all 3
>>
Would one get fucked in court if one removed the magazine disconnect from their pistol and then had to use it defensively?
>>
>>34196872
The pros and cons for a magazine disconnect are well known.
The SO loves the feature.
She doesn't have the hand strength to rack the slide and eject a round without the occasional slip.
Scares her shitless she'll ND.
I know better, but it's a frame of mind thing.
All understood.
She knows to remove the mag for HER peace of mind.

Why would i want a secondary when i could rather have 100 more rounds for my primary?

Becauses badasses and cool dudes carry two guns
>>
Primary and secondary weapons make sense when the primary weapon can be lost in the hectic battlefield i.e. melee combat, that's why you need a trusty sidearm.

But nowadays when every combat is about 200-300m, it's very, very hard to lose your primary.

Thus yes, it's just better to carry more ammo.

You must choose one of the following

- NFA Rules Abolished. Firearms classified as Machine Guns are regulated only as much as long guns and handguns at this day

- females eternally barred from military service (except nurse corps and select volunteer work forces)

I want to play devil's advocate, but this really isn't a difficult decision at all. NFA.

How is percussion any better than flint? I mean, for percussion guns I'd need to buy/have powder and caps, where with flint I would only need powder.
Flint is better than matchlock for raining weather obviously, but what advancements did percussion make over flint? Is there less of a delay when firing?
11 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
With flintlocks you don't just need powder, you have to buy flints as well as they get worn down over use. Percussion cap guns are obviously much better in wet/rainy conditions because all the powder is inside the gun and not exposed on the side. They also have much more reliable ignitions and don't create a huge fireball near your face which some could find uncomfortable. They're also slightly faster and less tricky to load because instead of pulling the hammer back, priming the pan and closing the frizen, you just cap the nipple and pull the hammer back.
>>
>>34196258
yes the locktime (delay) is shorter and it's faster to load and more reliable and simpler because it has fewer parts
it's just better in every way
>>
>>34196258
Percussion is several orders of magnitude more reliable.

So, in general. How well do you guys think the Sentinel tank series would have held up in combat?

I'm asking in regards to the Sentinel IV but any sort of analysis on the Sentinel series would be cool.

I think it slanders anyone who likes gun magazines/videos

I think evan and the girl are vandals

I think the shooter has shit technique, no sling, and is a liberal who is creating his own safe space.

I think this is a shitty thread, but I'm so sick of Comey talk, and can't jack off at work to /gif/ that I might as well waste time here.
