Don't remember seeing a thread for the best Sealing Club member in a while. Might be my dementia at work but anyhow - Renko thread! Maribel also welcome.
I wonder when ZUN is going to continue the story of these two.
i would really love for them to get a side game of their own, do more with the yukari/sumireko parallels too...
ZUN would really have to come up with something different if he were to put Renko and Merry in a game since neither of them can really fight. Not that I'd mind about getting something different once in a while.
Team Shanghai Alice is going to appear next Reitaisai, however ZUN already confirmed there wouldn't be a new game this year.
And with all the old publications getting restarted and the Secret Sealing Club becoming relevant again, that can all mean only one thing.
You got me instantly hyped. Can't wait for Reitaisai.
She does. But she got a bad roll, and only got the GPS thing.
It's not like we know how exactly Sumireko and Renko are related. Some say onee-chan and imouto, some say mother and daughter, some say aunt and niece, somesay grandmother and granddaughter, but who knows.
I am more interested in how Renko looks more and more like Reimu as time passes. And why she speaks and dresses like Marisa.
Are these supposed to be clues that she has some relationship to the two main heroines? And if so, what?
>And why she speaks like Marisa.
You sure that's not just one of the translators trying to be a funnyman?
You DO know that Reimu is like the twentieth-something shrine maiden, right? Your theory would require Renko to travel to the far past somehow.
I've never once thought that Renko had a connection to either despite her resemblance.
I believe the resemblance merely exists to remind us of the heroines and of their relationship with Yukari, if Maribel=Yukari.
Alternatively, Renko and Maribel is merely to remind us of Reimu and Marisa's relationship.
If Maribel=Yukari, then I think that Yukari herself might be reminded of Renko and sees her in Reimu/Marisa.
That depends on just what happens to Maribel, although I favor the idea that she becomes lost in ancient Gensokyo and separated from Renko at some point.
>You DO know that Reimu is like the twentieth-something shrine maiden, right? Your theory would require Renko to travel to the far past somehow.
Gee, it's almost as if Maribel has travelled into the far past before.
Screw Yukari's shenanigans and the whole of Gensokyo if it comes to it. These two can never be separated.
