That's pretty pointless, and might as well use MKVToolNix for it if that's all you're gonna do. Most JAV DVDs use ancient codecs, just like DMM/R18 do and the space you save by encoding to h264 or other more viable codecs is much more useful than the incredibly minor quality loss by encoding once.

A 6 GB SD rip is absolute overkill and will not even look noticeably better to anybody browsing these threads, except perhaps for people like G-Queener who do encodes themselves.

h264 is a codec you can use for free in many programs, like Handbrake for example. I assume MakeMKV uses it too. What's important is the settings though. For decent quality, most recommend CRF between 19 and 21 on BluRay sources, some even go as far as 17. It really depends on the source though, and of course your own requirements regarding quality and size.

I don't think you know what an ISO even is, because if you did, you'd understand that an ISO does not contain an AVI file (not from a commercial DVD, anyway) and that the screenshot there was randomly thrown in, showing not only in the file format, but also its size.

An ISO is literally a digital copy of a physical disk. It is either entirely corrupt and unusable or a perfect copy of the disk. In other words, there are no imperfect image rips, only working and broken ones.

And now I've talked enough, this shit is basic. This isn't /g/, and even on /g/ this would be off-topic in most instances. Either you figure it out yourself or you learn how to use Google and forums where spoonfeeding is more common.
