How much do you guys think each girl would charge for compensated dating?

Iroha is obviously the sluttiest of them all, so I wouldn't be surprised if she only charges 10,000 yen with bareback as an option. Lilina is the shy bookworm type, so she probably doesn't have any experience, and she's into occult stuff, so you might be able to take advantage of her naivety if you convince her there's some spooky white ectoplasm haunting your dick.

Ameto is probably pretty innocent but not clueless, and she'd probably do whatever's needed to help support her sisters. I imagine she'd charge a standard rate of 30,000 yen; no bareback allowed, of course. Hifumi, on the other hand, aware of her voluptuousness and what kind of men would be attracted to her mistress-type aura, wouldn't go lower than 40,000 yen, and the session would probably involve more abuse and derision of the guy than sex.

Xiatian is the friendly girl-next-door type. She's not slutty, but she also doesn't see sex as a big deal. She'd probably accept 20,000 yen, and the happiness of the guy having sex with her would mean more than the money. Finally, Tsugaru is probably still shy when it comes to guys, but she knows about compensated dating and she's hard pressed for cash. She'd probably charge 15,000 yen, unaware that such a large amount to her is peanuts in the industry, and she'd let the guy cum inside because she doesn't realize what will happen after he does.

accuracy is completely secondary. being able to FC something with whatever mod is more important than accuracy is. accuracy is just for edging out a rank above someone who has the same type of FC as you. not to mention that maintaining good accuracy in osu! is easy most of the time.

aim plays a dramatically larger role in determining who can FC more maps than accuracy ever will in osu!. in good rhythm games accuracy is literally the entire scoring system.
>>
>>14565808
yeah you can maintain acc if you nomod everything, but once you add HR or DT getting good acc isn't an easy feat

So, new IIDX player here, and this is technically my first rhythm game that isn't shit like Project Diva f. I just have a few questions:

>I have the pendual version of IIDX, what should I do to make sure it's as beginner friendly as possible?

>I don't own a controller(yet), so what should I be mapping my keys to on my keyboard?
>>
>>14565806
They had high ceilings as well since it was a large place. It was easily 10m high.

>>14565784
It happened overnight while it was closed and presumably had nobody working there (save for maybe janitorial workers). I feel more concerned for the people who work there who suddenly don't have work now. I've had friends of mine who have worked there part time in the past. Just sucks to imagine losing your job like that.
>>
>>14567821
there are all kinds of keyboard layouts that have worked out for people over the years

your main decision should be whether you want to use one pinky for scratch or you want to learn to use both thumbs so you can use your ring finger for scratch(like ABCD, a top LR2 player). also decide which side you want the scratch on.

you can also just set it up arcade style if you're going to be getting a controller really soon. that would be the easiest to transition from.

a lot of it comes down to your keyboard though so i can't just straight up tell you which layouts to use. you need to experiment. use this to test for ghosting:

80% remains a ridiculous overstatement, especially given the relatively high total number of songs across those two games.

>>
>>14567970
Yeah, the hit rate for songs I actually like playing/listening to is a bit low, but the sheer amount of tracks available at each level really makes up for it I think. Compared to the other 'newer' titles (even jubeat), the selection's pretty good.

You should get Pendual Enabler and turn on everything. It unlocks songs normally locked behind eAmuse, disables the annoying timers, and by playing on Premium Free with no timer, you'll never get a Game Over.

https://github.com/kclkcl/pendual-enabler

If you decide you like IIDX, buy/build a controller sooner rather than later. The worse you are at the game, the easier it'll be to transition.

>>
>>14571146
the sound voltex knobs are basically just handicaps for the actual tappatap gameplay, like a more extreme version of scratching in IIDX. it's still a lot more musical than mashing zx and moving your mouse around real fast.
>>
>>14571146
That has nothing to do with rhythm.
>>
>>14565783
>your acc is going to be shit if you don't play to the rhythm
but there is almost no rhythm in osu, everything in that game is basically random 8th or random quarter notes all over the place that are in time with the music so it gives off the illusion of something being rhythmic but its not, or even worse than that people will map circles to a bit that's not the main/loudest thing in a song, like there's a fucking map that maps to a fucking tambourine so it can have some horrible 16th note stream that you can barely hear already, and if you're like most players you're probably going to have hitsounds that are louder than music so that already quite part of the music is most likely going to be inaudible over the "ping" and "pop" that most players have as hitsounds. And perhaps best of all, nearly every beatmap past 4.5 stars has overmapped triples that are mapped to LITERALLY NOTHING, these are put into the game mostly because all of the shitty weeaboo music that makes up 90% of the music in osu would be so boring without them.

also, accuracy is COMPLETELY irrelevant if you're not full comboing shit, go look at the scoreboards of almost every hard streamy map, you'll see tons of really shit acc plays beating 90% acc like on Blue Zenith there's a fucking 77% beating like a 98% and that's ridiculous.

and maybe worst of all is sliders don't even have timing windows, you will get 300s on sliders no matter what, it doesn't matter if you hit them in time or not you're going to get a 300, they're basically free accuracy.

Granted the scoring system is retarded but that has nothing to do with the game or skill involved in playing it. The timing window on OD10 is 19ms, and you have to be precise in your timing not only in your rhythm, but you also have to have good timing in your aim. Rushing or dragging behind in your tapping can result in a 100, but being anything less than perfect in your aiming will make you miss.
>>

DDRITGtiming.png
9KB, 1000x213px
Posting this just in case anyone's interested in the differences between DDR and ITG timing and scoring.
Also fuck Stepmania developers for refusing to implement good DDR emulation.
>>
>>14573613
Why are there a bunch of half frames on the DDR side. This is incorrect beyond the Marvelous and Perfect windows.

It also only applies to songs that have a BPM of 90, 150, 180, etc., since frame rounding at other BPMs causes the windows to wiggle around constantly.
>>
>>14573835
One frame = 16.(6) ms.
I read somewhere that DDR keeps separate timing windows for early and late steps for Great and Good ratings, which is something Stepmania doesn't emulate. Not sure if it's true, those differences would be probably too small to notice.
>>
>>14572897
it already is one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfSZ4WCLw6M
>>
>>14574063
I'm used to bemani games having different early and late windows. That is not an issue.

Assuming the DDR scale is centered around a frame boundary (Marvelous window is two frames, so that's one early and one late frame, with the center in between them), the Great, Good, and Miss windows do not make sense since they appear to fall on half frames (91.(6) ms, 108.(3) ms, 141.(6) ms 158.(3) ms, and 191.(6) ms).
>>
>Marvelous: 2/120 s (16.666 ms)
>Perfect: 4/120 s (33.333 ms)
>Great: 13/120 s (108.333 ms) early / 11/120 s (91.666 ms) late
>Good: 19/120 s (158.333 ms) early / 17/60 s (141.666 ms) late
>(early) Miss: 23/120 s (191.666 ms)

That's what's written everywhere on the internet. Maybe someone made an error that snowballed out of control and is now parrotted by everyone. Or maybe Konami's just bad at programming. Either way the lower of those values is what I plugged into Stepmania to get as close to DDR as possible, and even make certain early/late timings a bit stricter.
>>
>>14574223
>Maybe someone made an error that snowballed out of control and is now parrotted by everyone.
It wouldn't be the first time.
>>
>>14574067
osu users doubled the bpm of this song to make it 278BPM just to make it harder
>>
>>14574319
How does that make it harder?

It's the same as keeping it at original BPM and mapping to 16th instead of 8th notes or something.

Most osu songs are overmapped anyway.
>>
>>14574319

>>
>>14574420

>>
>>14574357
I don't know osu but maybe it affects the note appear speed or something
>>
>>14574486
That's governed by the AR, BPM doesn't affect anything.
>>
>>14574357
>>14574486
>>14574537
it doesn't necessarily make it harder but it can change what the object density is depending on the AR, like on AR9 there would be a lot more circles on screen at 278BPM than there would be at the proper 139BPM.

If you have 4 circles timed 1 second apart, it doesn't matter whether the BPM is 120 or 240, they will look exactly the same because the Approach Rate is the only variable that changes how fast notes appear. It's not like IIDX where halving the BPM also makes notes scroll slower.

Hello, friends! I've been playing a bit of Beatmania ever since /v/ told me about the game, and while it's a lot of fun, there are a few songs I find... gross. Possibly the worst offender I've seen so far is pic related: There's an entire song full of suggestive pictures of a girl who can't be older than 10.

As much as I respect artistic integrity, can't we leave paedophilia out of music games? Does anyone disagree that Konami could use some oversight on this?

Actually I believe there is, but it's done on a per-BMS basis, defined in the file.

There might be a program that automatically rewrites all your files to have standard timings, but this would disqualify them from Internet Ranking, and even if there is such a program it's probably in Japanese or Korean and I can't read it.

If you mean playing a song at half/0.75x/whatever speed, LR2 can do that. It's just hidden away in the effector options for some reason. You'll know you enabled the right option if the song select music slowed down/speeds up. It's the one that's on +0 by default and goes from -12 to +12.

Is there any merit to using the cursors for playing or should I change to something like x c v b?
>>
>>14587293
no merit unless you just enjoy it. use your index and middle finger on both hands. doesn't matter where the keys are placed specifically as long as it's comfortable.
>>
>>14587293
Two fingers on cursor keys are a pretty accurate substitute of dancepad. Even more so on numpad, but you'll have a lot of trouble memorising where the arrow keys are at the beginning. If you play charts made with dancepad in mind (all official DDR and ITG material), any other control setup will trivialise a lot of technical challenges of some of the harder charts, such as crossovers.
In increasing degree of "cheating", you have four fingers of one hand on four buttons in line (like xcvb), two fingers of two hands on four buttons and four fingers of two hands on eight buttons. But that's only for dancepad charts. There's plenty of material made specifically for the last one of those three setups that would be impossible to pass for anyone on dancepad.
For reference, I started with four fingers of one hand setup and took about four months to get to the level where I could comfortably C rank DDR 17s and some 18s. After switching to two fingers on cursor keys I couldn't pass shit and had to take baby steps from the very beginning. Still can't pass any 15 with this.
>>
If you have any amount of interest in playing actual DDR, playing "index" with StepMania can help you polish your technique and reading ability, as long as you treat each hand as a foot.

Did the difficulty ratings from recent styles got easier, or is just me good with a certain playstyle that is always there in modern tracks? And now you'll get Bs instead of As in IIDX. The timing windows in LR2 are retardedly huge.

>>14588113
I feel that Pendual's charts are significantly easier compared to most of the modern styles for their difficulty levels. Routing and Tokimeki are the only 11s I haven't hard cleared yet on SP and there are a lot of low-12s introduced in the game, probably to make climbing the 12 ladder a bit smoother.

>>14588480
He might be struggling since HDMI input has audio lag without tinkering with hex codes.
>>
>>14588113
>>14588897
They are easier but older charts definitely has a different design philosophy around it.

Most newer charts I notice tend to just throw dense shit at you. Older charts will have awkward patterns and jacks. Also I've never been good 7, 6+7 stuff which shows up in a lot of old charts.

>>
>>14588897
is there some kind of hex edit that helps with hdmi lag? you're right that i was playing on it and it fucked with the timing window so hard that the actual judge line is way ABOVE the displayed line

but if there's lag and the song's clearable i should still be able to do it with a shit score, but they just destroy my gauge here. the charts all feel harder than SP charts of the same level
>>
>>14588960
Should be in the HDD thread for LP on sows.

>>14588954
Old charts loved to throw you through loops and were not afraid to have four key chords that weren't 1357 on charts rated 6-8 and they aren't straight forward as modern charts since they weren't as streamy. You would never see something like Schlagwerk, LAB, Let's run, celebrate, or Y31 in modern games like Pendual or copula, especially for the difficulty levels they were rated. I kind of miss charts like those since they had a lot of character to them for better or worse (well, at least on SP. Old DP charts can fucking rot in hell).

What kind of hardware/software do I need to play rhythm games like beatmania?
I'm assuming for software I'll just need an emulator and the game files? If need to spend lots of cash to buy special controllers I'm thinking it might not be worth my time.
>>
>>14591697
You can play on keyboard.
>>
>>14591697
You don't "need" the controller but there really is no point in playing without the controllers.

For hardware any decent hardware that can play relatively recent titles on medium. Except for sound voltex where I randomly have slowdowns during knobs on my r9 280x/i5 which makes no sense especially since it doesn't look like a demanding game.
>>
>>14591697
>I'm assuming for software I'll just need an emulator and the game files?
You either need simulators (google "ultimate lunatic rave 2 guide") or naughty arcade cracks, there's nothing you run in an emulator.

Yes, you can play on keyboard, but it's not quite the same. You can get relatively cheap setups by just buying one of the PS2 controllers and a decent adapter though.
>>
>>14591749
I literally run sound voltex II with 4 gigs of ram, a 1.5 ghz processor and integrated graphics with no slowdowns and just a small graphical glitch with the backgrounds ingame.
>>
>>14591807
Yeah I don't understand issue. It's the only game I have issue and it's very arbitrary since there can be crazy knob levels with no slow downs. Suddenly a song with a single knob use and it'll blow up.. It works on my friend's set up who has a similar spec than you and it doesn't work on mine.

I don't want to buy the controller until I figure out the issue.
>>

you can just get LR2 and play on keyboard. It's not the same experience as playing on a controller, but it's still really fun. Just different.
https://www.reddit.com/r/lunaticrave2/wiki/index is the best guide out there on how to set it up, and you'll need it.
>>
>>14591697
It depends on the game. DJMax Trilogy is a great beginner's rhythm game that meshes really well with keyboard. Stepmania, osu!mania and o2jam are all popular games that have charts/gamemodes well-suited to keyboard play. BMS isn't perfect on keyboard but can still work well as long as you're willing to put a little bit more work into certain aspects of the game.

I recommend trying out whichever one of these games that interests you the most on keyboard, then deciding from there how much you're willing to spend on the hobby. I think there are cheaper IIDX controllers out there, but most controllers for other games as well as higher quality IIDX controllers are going to be like 150 bare minimum.

So far my strategy has always been to jam harder.
I can't time my press if I'm not making loud noises with the keys, but I can't see myself clearing Another/BMS-tier charts like that.

Never tried using my Lmiddle for key 1 but I could see it working if you bend it a little. I'll try to get used to it just in case.

How do you call those chords (Denim chords?)
I always choke them up.
I know I need to spread them out.
Maybe practicing while the song loads will help, it worked for stairs at least.
>>
>>14592826
lmiddle key1 always seemed awkward to me.

Then again I use my thumb for both key 1 and 2 so I guess I can't talk.

>>14592955
>3y3s normal ending
chord scales though this is a bit slow to be called scales.

Denim is dog shit like pic related.
>>
>>14592955
>>14593013
Just mash these patterns in the 5 seconds before the song starts, doing scales, chord scales, and rolling between 1357 and 246.

Helps with warming up and builds a bit of muscle memory.
>>
>>14593023
I practice trills on different buttons during the startup.

I just don't like denim rolls no matter how often they show up

>>14593013
I meant to write I use thumb for both key 1 and 3.
>>
When was the last time we did handshot .webms? Show me your best handshots.

>thumb for both key 1 and 3

funny, i was just wondering if that was a common thing or if it was just some crazy japanese guy on youtube with a weird playstyle.

seems to work pretty well for him though.
>>
>>14593326
In the relatively short amount of time I played on controller (like, level 10-ish), I also flailed my thumb to hit both 1 and 3. For whatever reason it felt more comfortable to do that than try moving my right hand. Probably because the left hand was already moving at that point anyway. The only problem is that shit like 1-3 chords are pretty annoying to do, since you need to stretch your thumb to hit both buttons.
>>
>>14593363
S13 chords are usually when I bring my right thumb over.
>>
What's the easiest to build hard DDR pad?
>>
>>14593363
I have big crooked hands

scratch1+3 hasn't been a problem so far in the 11s and I just got a AA-6(soon) on 取り残された美術 and that song just has tons of S1+3 + other notes.

One habit I think if you do thumbs for both 1 and 3 that you should avoid is sliding your thumb instead of actually trying to hit the note. I do this all the time and my timing on said parts always go to shit (even worse I slide with my right hand as well).
>>
>>14593363
>>14593375
What about S135 or even S1357?
I bring my thumb over for S13, but for the other two I have to smash my thumb into 1 and 3
>>
>>14593664
S135 is

S Lpinky, 1 Lthumb, 3 Rthumb, 5 Rmiddle

Ditto for S1357, as the Rpinky doesn't move.

Dirty of Loudness's S1234567 adds

2 Lindex, 4 Rindex, and 6 Rring, which is the only time I use my right ring finger because it's hard to use your middle and ring ringers independently.

I use thumb to press both 1 and 3 at the same time on S13 patterns

I was already clearing 11s with keyboard when i started, spent a couple of hours figuring a play style that i found comfortable and played every day for around 3 hours.

How do I make the sanwas in my ASC sound as nice as they do in the arcade?
>>
>>14595988
Get a bunch of games and pop music running in the background, invite 60 people to your house and make the inside of your ASC a replica of the inside of the arcade cabinet.

Oh yeah, that would explain it. If you can play decently on keyboard, learning controller is easier since you already know how to read patterns.

How big are the timing windows on O2jam?
>>
>>14597430
depends on the scroll speed or something stupid like that
>>
>>14597708
they are beat based windows, so not exactly
>>
>>14597715
So it'd dependent on the speed of the song?

Is it harder to play with longer nails?
>>
>>14597855
only if they're long enough to hit the button before the rest of your finger
>>
>>14597855
Not really, it can make it a lot less comfortable though
>>
>>14597835
depends on the BPM of the song, and slides if BPM changes.
>>
>>14597855
Yes. Your fingers are heavier and the nails slide on the buttons
