Story mode still feels the same overall, but there are more areas to visit now such as Muenzuka, the Great Mausoleum, Tengu village, etc.

Also, every puppet has an Extra style now.

Hit level 30 and go to thee menu where you can teach moves, change EVs and so on. The style option is now unlocked, so just go there and choose a different one.
As to the marrying thing, looks like you might only be able to do it with your starter, so no harems allowed.

I picked Yorihime. Ended up beating the entire main game using only her, beyond death fodder.

Looks like nobody cares about this version as much as when the game first came out. Still leaving one bump in here though for hope.

I'd say not. The vanilla Pokemon "go beat gyms and also these baddies along the way" thing isn't anything fancy, and still gets you through the whole world. This game can't even manage that?
The lack of any direction and the samey attacks, both visually and effectively, kinda kill the game. The cute sprites can only go so far.

There is a main quest this time, you go around Gensokyo, beating strong 2hus who think they're gym leaders to get youma books for Kosuzu because she's cute or something and those books seem to tell what happened in the previous game. Medicine also tries to be a baddy because she's a puppet so she wants to liberate puppets and she managed to round up the baquartet for that.
I don't think the attacks are that samey either, they usually just expand on the basic moves from Pokemon while adding things to fit its own mechanics and twists. I've never had a gripe with the attack visuals either, they usually do enough to at least tell you if it's a focused or a spread attack.
And something that I felt like mentioning that isn't exactly an example of an attack is Sagume, who has an ability that works just like contrary - but for the opponent (so if she's out and they try to use swords dance, their attack gets lowered by 2 stages instead). The game is full of neat little twists like this.

Double and triple battles were horribly used in every Pokemon game they've been in, for some reason. It's strange how they aren't present at all in this game.

Expansion came out like a week ago, dude. Translators say like 3-8 months for the new stuff. Original game is 100% translated though. Check out /vp/ if you want updates on all that stuff.
