Post and discuss vocaloid related songs, albums, producers, pictures, videos, etc. UTAU and utaites also allowed because why not.
Why would you start off with that horrible memory?
Here's the Toronto meet up Google doc. Anyone going to the Toronto concert should keep an eye on this so we can coordinate closer to the date.
Well, it's colbert now, but I doubt they'll ever have her on again after that fiasco.
>mixes both L and R in
but that's pretty much how it went
Last thread had more IPs than the other generals on this board.
It was fun watching her live, loosen up a bit will you?
Christmas Miku is cutest Miku
>He doesn't love Miku enough that just seeing her makes his day.
I still haven't found it. If I won't find it when this thread ends, I'll stop bugging you guys.
I found out on /r/vocaloid that the song I'm looking for is way more obscure than I thought.
I also thought the title was "uli" or something, but that didn't really give me any results.
Please have a cute Miku pic!
It isn't Love Song/Ai no Uta, is it?
And some dance covers, going off your post on /r/vocaloid. Not sure if they were what you were describing:
While I do like that song, it's not the one I'm looking for.
I'm looking through dance covers too, but It feels like an endless task haha.
Any of these?
(Yes, I know that last one is Rin/Len. Really just throwing shit at the wall at this point)
Time to get our christmas spirit on
>tfw I will never find real Miku under my Christmas tree
Just kill me now.
Those aren't the song either. I'm afraid I'll never find it again.
I found it!
Thanks to the kind anons who tried to help me!
Honestly, better than any of the demos so far.
New racing miku design revealed
Damn I should have known that one, but it's supposed to be "uni," not "uli" which threw me off. Glad you found it though.
Check out the PV if you haven't seen it before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otfL_ljncVw
If she had proportions like this CG I would definitely be okay with this. Model needs to be a bit thicker and shrink the boobs a little bit.
What are some good recent albums I can grab from mikudb? I want to catch up, haven't listened to anything new since MIKU/TOA. Thanks
It looks nice but I personally prefer Api Miku.
Her cute eyes, small body, long legs are just perfect.
>festive vocaloid playlist
Google is your friend.
Honestly, I can't understand most of what she is saying.
Maybe if she wasn't using such an old Polish dialect, it would be more comprehensible.
sexy cute realistic 2015 pop star future emotion delivered through sound.
But eh, not that anon, but i feel that vocaloid software does represent the sound of the future, and these current vocaloids that we have now are gonna be in history textbooks 100 years from now comparable to the Model T of virtual divas. Feels like something is and has always been in the making with vocaloid.
Anyone got Eclipse-Mini Album- by Yunosuke ?
Got taken down from mikudb
FLAC pref etc
>just realized LamazeP released new album
This made my day, I love his works.
He did 2 months ago or something. I've just bought digital album and really like these:
Shame he doesn't sell CDs, it would be nice to have physical copy.
Miku is love, Miku is life.
I said I would update last thread, so here's the results of my uncharacteristic arts and crafts endeavor.
The first batch came out warped because I didn't flatten it carefully enough and I also forgot to lower the opacity. The second batch all came out perfect and I even made them double sided. Unfortunately, the paper doesn't always shrink uniformly. The only things you can do is use a more uniform oven or make the keychains smaller. Pretty fun little activity though.
I also made one of my dog for my mom and my imouto made one for yukine after helping me out a lot. Hope you enjoyed by blog.
Does anyone know of any good guides/books on tuning Vocaloids? I know there were several japanese books released, has any translations come from them or not?
Watching teenagers on Youtube explaining how to tune is suffering.
Peperon-P wrote his own book on tuning V3, called "Vocaloid Official Perfect Tuning Technique." There's a VO thread that has some of it translated.
I bought this book (http:// tinyurl com/hon6ga5), and im hoping to translate it to share what knowledge it has inside it eventually.
I did watch a livestream of circusP doing some tuning on Rin and Len v4 English, and saw that he was using the pitch bend parameter extensive, had one word into multiple phonemes for better pronunciation (example, jumping required a phoneme for JA, UMP, and PING; even the word earth gets two separate phonemes; ER and TH), the h, d, and dh phonemes inside the lyric box help made the words have an MMHPH sound to it, but you'd need to have it at the end of a word. For example, words like Moving and Ground would have a separate lyric box that would have a [h] or [d] or [dh] for the phoneme following the word. [h] phoneme also helps gives words like Sleep and Deep a puh sound and can possibly sound a lil extended. a lot of the pronunciation correction was done with changing, removing, and adding phonemes to current lyrics. One word can have up to 2-3 lyric boxes with multiple phonemes that may even have a [h] at the end of it.
The melody and lyrics were made before circusP did the tuning. I've also noticed that at the beginning of each set of lyrics, there'd be a specific modification in the Pitch bend, where he draws it very carefully on the line on there for a specific shape in the modification bar that's below the lyrics while going for some VERY specific numbers that was displayed on the vocaloid editor at the same time. I'd have to show a picture later to explain.
sorry if it's vague, but i hope that helps. I'll get pictures up later, tired.
oooh i like those! nice job!
Why is she so perfect?
That was really helpful read. I also love to hear more from >>14546948 as well.
I want to listen to cheerful vocaloid songs, but what I've found is just a bunch of depressing shit, youtube is bullshit and don't know how to read moon runes, help.
This. The live threads all over the boards were fun as fuck.
As VR starts taking off, most of the jap devs will all use miku to prototype. Feels good.
Nico is available in english, just change the language settings at the bottom of the page. Use vocadb. Search pop or electro if you want upbeat, you'll find something.
Randomly gave AHS's primary schooler a listen and I actually love her voice a lot (not too robotic, doesn't break easily at high notes). I wish more people explored her capabilities. She sounds amazing in soft, lullaby/chant-like songs
Thanks, I haven't heard those before. I really like her voice too, but I can see why some people are hesitant to use her. It seems hard to make her sound expressive, but she definitely fills her niche well.
She should be used in more soft jazz
And one of my favorite usages of yuki:
track 07 of this album http://vocadb.net/Al/9872
It used to be on yt, but it got purged. Check out the album if you can.
I heard luka v4 was a disappointing too, but I haven't following close enough to hear why
Actually here's other song by the same producer as track 07 if you dont want to download an album just to hear him using yuki
My favorite vocaloid is Kagamine Len. I usually listen him while I program my projects.
I want to do cosplay of him =P
Another than I like is furry, like Kemonone Row and Kabe Pierce
that first Len cover is actually kinda nice tho
Holy shit they sound downright amazing. I'm so glad Crypton didn't mess this one up like they did with Luka.
Project Mirai Complete is up
Where is 39D? I NEED IT
or any other C89 vocaloid stuff for that matter
Mitchie M, GigaP
The Greatest Idol - Mitchie M (Probably the best one I can think of for happy stuff)
Gigabanana - The Best USUSHIO味 (upbeat, energy)
The link on mikudb links to the other version so here is mine (320kbps)
DAISUKE P - Virgin (funky?)
No Title+/- - GigaP (Some of the songs are not quite as "cheery" but still have that energy)
Michno-sequence - Camelia (has that energy etc)
Oh yeah and with Nicovideo I just do this
2. Copy the title of whatever video you want to watch
3. Open youtube, paste in search bar
4. Watch vids without economy mode quality
furry please leave and stop shitting up this thread
Some more stuff about PDX, I don't think anyone's posted it here yet.
Some gameplay info and modules: http://info.miku.sega.jp/5691
New Kagmine songs announced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZqzBGzycQE
I could kiss you right now, anon.
Wait for next tour?
There are always concerts on 9th March, so it's not that far away.
Bought my tickets to see Miku in NYC, can't wait.
It's a pretty niche games. Let's not fool ourselves, project diva has never sold even half a million for any of its games. Even BlazBlue sells more and that's pretty niche. It's a mid-sized within the weeb games niche, but in the market at large it's pretty small.
And while some niche games do see release, most just stay in the PS Vita or the PS4 'cause they don't want the hassle of a port. Hell, most actual niche games don't even see translation.
IA > Gumi > Miku
miku will always be my favorite though
Magical Mirai 2014 is now up on AB in 1080p60, subbed. (freeleech)
After getting a new monitor I took a look at my old 720p encode and noticed a lot of quality issues. So I snagged the Blu-ray again and decided to give my new rig a workout.
AB is not primarily a music tracker. You join it for anime. Having is as another source to search for music isn't bad, though.
It's one of the easiest private trackers to get by in. 1080p is freeleech, bonus points are very generous, and you only need to maintain a 0.2 ratio.
You can meet the upload requirement for Power User for immunity to inactivity pruning and access to the invite forum with 10 minutes of transcoding FLAC to MP3 or just uploading shit from mikudb.
Did because no responses. Etherpad so you don't have to sign in with Google, but I can move it to a google doc if needed.
i normally dont buyfag merchandise but i kinda want that bear stuffed animal
Do you guys know of any other more western artists using vocaloid well?
Most of it is bad, but I really did enjoy Porter Robinson's latest album.
The game versions and the originals are different in a lot of cases. Unlike with Diva F, there was never an official OST released for 2nd, so presumably any complete OST would have to be ripped straight from the game.
I reuploaded the baidu link, it's in mp3 320.
If you're looking for western work
>decent vocaloid tuning/engrish/english
Pick one since you can't have both. Personally I'm looking into making a Miku English song but I need to figure out how to make music first. All I can do is use the Vocaloid editor and that's worthless since the bgm is what makes a song good.
Feel free to believe whatever you want
Good sir, you're now my favourite person on /jp/. Seriously, thanks a bunch. Downloading now.
I'm in dire need from everybody in this thread:
I'm looking for songs that sound similar to the first track of this release (preferably vocaloid)
Kind of a calm/mellow and melancholic sounding but catchy af melody with faster paced glitchy/breakbeat-esque beats and synths behind it.
>Kind of a calm/mellow and melancholic sounding but catchy af melody with faster paced glitchy/breakbeat-esque beats and synths behind it.
Eh probably not what you're looking for but it might be up your alley if you haven't heard it.
maybe some of these
To a lesser extent, leggysalad, sasakure.uk, and kous are also somewhat related.
Does anyone happen to have the instrumental version of this song as indicated in the video description? The linked website doesn't seem to be around anymore.
Thanks a bunch, bro. Now this song doesn't have to be the oddball with vocals on my BGM/instrumentals playlist. Too bad the thing that goes 'wheeeee' twice near the end got dropped in this version, but I think I can live with that.
Only this one.
Just kidding, we're all cute girls here.
Can I get some really laid back, comfy tunes? I also like it when miku has that ephemeral tone to her.
it is a crying shame that she rarely gets any sort of fan related or official art these days.
Wait for her birthday in November or just look on Pixiv or Piapro. She usually gets at least one new picture everyday. You just have to look for it.
Meiko doesn't get the sheer number or volume as Miku does but she does get something at least. I think more people are drawing Meiko fanart than before in years past because of her 10th and 11th anniversary. People are more appreciative of Meiko now compared to a few years ago.
Friendly reminder that Miku is going to be 10 next year so I would save the name calling for Youtube comments next time.
I wonder what does it feel to be in the Mikuband. Like, are those guys super glad and honoured to be onstage with Miku or are they like "Fucking hell, I've been a musician for 20 years and this fucking robot draws bigger crwods than my band"?
I don't really think they mind. They get introductions and guitar has a solo if I recall. Plus they get to play for bigger crowds than most bands.
You might be too late for the Japan tour.
Saying you want to marry a doll is just like saying you want to marry a picture of your fiance.
What they said to these guys to make them participate in this video. It's completely misunderstanding of waifuism, reluctant relationships problem etc.
I wouldn't mind being bros with biker mikufag. Video was obviously pushing its agenda though. Social ability and waifuism can be independent. And it makes people happy, no different than religion in that sense.
Not for the crypton concerts. Producers will do gigs at clubs and stuff under their own name.
Sounds muffled but he's probably going to get some shitty western art because of his design. At least it's something different I suppose.
The HSP demo was my favorite.
>Demos by rerulili, HSP and ATOLS
What a treat, loved the ATOLS demo. I welcome more male Vocaloids, hopefully he gets decently popular and gets decent producers to use him frequently.
>hopefully he gets decently popular and gets decent producers to use him frequently.
sorry to say its not gonna happen.
according to fukase's license, he can't be used for profit without permission from yamaha, unlike every other vocaloid
why would any smart producer use him over len when they cant even sell their music?
its too bad as well, seeing as his vp has decent english so i had high hopes for his english bank as well
I'll just leave this here. Enjoy being shredded to pieces by your -love-
Hotter than the append version to be honest.
I want to cum on her belly.
Well, that sucks. Guess I'll just enjoy the demos then. Is there any chance for a fully english song for his demo?
I've always thpught that Calne is cute, I'd love to go to an amusement park with her or something.
Doesn't sound bad, just a bit muffled. If we're comparing him to Len it's no contest though; Len sounds much clearer, and can go just as deep:
I'm definitely most excited about the Giga-P medley. I'd rather they gave him a single full-length song over the medley thing (Gigantic OTN probably), but I'll take what I can get.
Here, have more ponytail miku.
Too many to really say. I'm curious what songs will be used for mikito-P and treow. Also excited for pinocchio-P (glad they chose slow motion) and yuuyu-P. The biggest surprise was toa for me, didn't think it was the type to get in, but I'm glad cause patchwork staccato is ridiculously cute.
not even sure I want it anymore at this point... There are so many vocaloids out it would just be redundant. I'd rather they spent their efforts on making their existing vocaloids better (Luka V4 was pretty bad, but imagine how worse it would be if they had to split production between her and a new vocaloid)
It arrived today, post man smirking at me the whole time.
Can't wait to watch it later, reliving the moment.
Course he would, you waited so long to get it.
Sachiko wasn't developed by Crypton. Crypton this year have (presumably) worked only on Rin & Len and Miku. It was actually a really pleasant surprise for me that Rin & Len turned out as well as they did, since Crypton's track record with them in particular wasn't really good (the appends were awesome though).
I had no idea this existed until today. Immediately bought it after.
Assuming you have food, travel, and hotel expenses covered Probably $150-$200-ish. I'm not the best judge on these things.
Assuming USD, expect 40 to 50 dollars for a shirt, less for knick knacks, and more for figures, assuming they have some.
Bring 400 dollars if you can, avoid possible disappointment.
Does a flac exist of this anywhere? Torrents, biadu, other file sharing sites, anywhere. I can't seem to find any lossless copy of Light Lag.
>mfw the pledgemusic tickets to have my photo taken with miku at mikuexpo, sold out seconds before I could finalize the payment.
Download the mikuture app on your phone and save yourself the expense.
>Taiwan has been announced for Hatsune Miku Expo 2016
>mfv no news about Europe
That sounds reasonable, I was planning $300 but I'd rather be prepared for any sudden last minute exclusives. Thank you.
Miku only for me, but I'm sure those would have sold out immediately too.
It's more important to get there early before all the good stuff disappears.
I hope so. This was the exclusive nenodroid sold in 2014. Line went on for hours and I think they ran out of stock too. I arrived late so I didn't even bother trying. I believe it sold at $80, so you can imagine how bad the initial scalped prices were if they're still selling for ~$90 now. Plan to go early just in case.
Likely the same ones as the fundraiser, but they might have exclusive designs there.
The omocat shirt is alright. They probably figured less people would buy anything that looks too anime and rightfully so. I would prefer a more normal looking miku on mine.
It's a little overpriced for an official version. Doesn't seem bad to me. Here's something similar, but with more colors http://www.amazon.com/Louis-Japan-15-color-variable-KINGBLADEX10II/dp/B00DNUNRXG
glad to know I'm not the only one who got a glowstick
I'm hoping the omocat merch won't be as cancerous as their other shirts.
Here's a shirt from Omocat's online shop.
I wouldn't wear this at all.
I actually took a look at the site again and it says those shirts are PledgeMusic exclusive. So now I'm not sure. Here's what they sold in the Shanghai location, but I doubt it'll be the exact same. http://www.mikufan.com/hatsune-miku-expo-in-shanghai-exhibition-goods-details-unveiled/#sthash.hzpC1x4Y.dpbs
There was a good amount of the other colors, around half. A lot of people waved the green one anyway. I don't think you'll stand out either way.
WLF is a hit or miss. I have some shirts from there that I really like, but then there are some designs that just look way too weebish.
Pic related is best shirt from WLF. I'm just hoping Omocat doesn't make a "I'm Vocaloid trash" shirt or something mixing vocaloids with memes/internet culture. I cringed enough from the fujoshi shirt, I don't want to cringe at a Miku shirt again.
I like the darker designs, personally.
Like this one.
Not going to happen unless someone from Europe pledges a million.
I can never find any Kaito. They all are either not subtle at all, shitty, or fujoshi bait. The WLF shirt is the closest thing I've come to
This is just a bit too edgy for my liking
but then again I buy heavy metal t-shirts
I like this one. I'm all for the more minimalist style of these kind of thing. Still don't know if I would actually buy one though.
IMO Cospa still has the best Miku shirts.
Hell they often have decent anime themed shirts that look good without coming across as a giant weeb.
That is some expensive meme bait
I actually own this one, would definitely recommend it since it's nice and soft.
Not my favorite but it's ok. I see a lot of people wearing that shirt in particular.
>over 6000 yen + shipping for a t-shirt
I'm hoping Cospa will have a booth at MikuExpo booth, I'd rather buy my shirts in person.
>tl:dr There's no active Vocaloid scene in Europe.
Bull fucking Shit.
The reason the opera bombed because it was just that. A fucking opera. Not exactly something Miku's demographic is known to enjoy.
Also it was shown in the Amsterdam Theatre here that is known to attract hipsters and over aged left wing snobs. Again not a place where Miku's demographic would wanna be caught dead in.
I'm 205cm, 150kg, and I lift 2/3/4/5
Nothing I want ever fits me.
Name some decently known European producers who make vocaloid originals. Name an original vocaloid song from Europe with a few thousand views.
Yet their was an art event in LA in chinatown yet that somehow didn't fail. Stop being in such denial.
I'd wear this. I like this piano one too >>14649989
According to this site, sales in NA were around 270,000 units compared to a paltry 90,000 in EU. The stats are pretty telling.
that's starting to change especially when crypton is pushing the english voice bank onto the west. Are you ready for your ears to get enriched by circus-p at miku expo, anon-kun?
... no replies? Will I be all alone in San Francisco?
today went to a small book movie and music store been going for a few years now know some of the people sell vocaloid, jpop ,jrock, and j idol cds. place to go for weebs. hear some guy
>whats better then miku?
buddy who looks out of place doesn't reply just looks dumbfounded
>yeah i though so
guy looking at the movies 2 isles down
kek hope it was one of you faggots
I want to get into vocaloid music, but I have no idea where to start.
Is there a beginners guide to what albums/soundtracks I should download, or what should I do? I don't like relying on whatever random songs I find.
Stumbling onto random stuff you love on youtube/niconico is half the fun of vocaloid. That said, you can start by looking up the concert set lists, Project Diva and Project Mirai song lists, and there's also a few Exit Tunes compilation albums out there. All those will give you a general idea of the most popular/well known vocaloid songs, then you can find your favorite producers and go from there. VocaDB is a great resource for finding songs, albums or producers. Vocaloid wiki works too but there's less content.
This information is usually in the copypasta in the OP, but it's missing in this thread for some reason. Mikudb is where you'll find most albums, but for covers etc you can usually just rip it off NND, there are lots of programs out there that will allow you to do that.
Is there a zip file for Mitchie M's new album, yet?
How extensive are your collections? I'm at around 10k songs, but I usually only download stuff I like.
About 1k songs. That's ~60 albums. I only download albums of my absolute favorite producers, otherwise I just download whatever single songs I like the most. I have also bought 15 physical albums since I like collecting stuff.
Vocaloid is not all I listen to though, it's maybe 10% of my library. I wish I had the time to explore it further.
ah, alright. yeah, i'm traveling a ways to get there, and yeah been watching miku live shows trying to gauge out what the crowd and actual display value of the show will be. Don't wanna be let down, you know.
I'm traveling from Kansas City to see the vocaloids in Dallas. I know for a fact Texas has a shit ton of weebs so I'm expecting a decent crowd. Not to mention the VIP tickets sold out within an hour which is a good sign
not for me however
Who are your top 3 utaite, along with your favorite song sung by the utaite?
1. Sana - Yakimochi no Kotae https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCBdsr9L65M
2. Himawari - Sarishinohara
3. Amatsuki - Sanso no Umi
nice. yep, leaving from Nashville. but yeah anon, should be fun hopefully. We plan on staying the weekend out there to enjoy the fair lady Texas in spring and make the drive worthwhile. maybe we'll meet? who knows. And yeah, the VIP tickets, I guess that's a good thing now that you mention it.
Rather than of utaite themselves, I consider myself more as a fan of specific song covers.
1. Kakichoco - Ifuudoudou https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwQemaYadHk
2. nameless - Asu no Yozora Shoukaihan http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm26522175
3. Hanatan - Torinoko City https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtOZ_1tv87g
It's hard to be a fan of the singers when their covers can be hit or miss, especially to a guy like me who likes to keep the song vanilla without excessive adlibs. Some of Yuikonnu's covers are examples of songs that I find to have reasonable extra touches. With that said, once in a while, I shoot down a cover for straying far from vanilla, but then it just grows on me later (Reol's Streaming Heart).
1. Wotamin - Just Be Friends (piano version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX6TwnhdbDA
2. 96Neko - Happy Synthesizer (with Len): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X82FrnpBxNY
3. Kradness - Senbonzakura (Giga-P remix): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daybRF2pcmA
I will give you, THE SAMPLER SET (Sorry I don’t listen to much of Rin, Len, Meiko and Kaito, perhaps someone can suggest songs / artists for them.) Also too many songs to list and I got tired of adding stuff but hopefully some of these catches your fancy. Also check out IA stuff if you can, she has a pretty nice voice IMO.

>Listening to meat bags
I think I've only had a few covers I've ever liked from utaites, a lot of them either screech, sound dead, have a boring voice tone overall, or are just plain unappealing. The worst though is dealing with utaite fags who insist that their favorite is the best singer ever and just general obnoxiousness from the fanbase.
Any recommendations on how to git gud at UTAU?
I really wanna make original songs for fun.
I think they made an attempt at a vaporwave aesthetic, it might be okay but their picture is for ants so I really can't tell.
I'd much prefer any of the cospa shirts, though.
A lot of it is trash, basically the opposite of nightcore (random 80s music slowed down).
There are some nice albums though, this one is good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9L4q-0Pi4E
Play Diva games. They are pretty fun and have many popular songs in them.
About 50 songs. I don't collect things I don't actually listen to and I'm rather picky.
