>tfw Blizzard forces Americans to play with Canadian who were mostly French and annoying, latinos who can't even speak English, and Australians with high pings
What was playing WoW with others like in your region?
>Finally get Aussie servers in MoP, no more high ping
>They keep us in the American battlegroup
>back to high ping in every bg and dungeon
It was fine. We had like five regions. Scandiavian, Dutch (plus Belgium), and British people were essentially one region, because these nationalities played on the English servers. There was the odd player from some Slavhole that barely spoke English, however, that for some reason didn't play on the Russian servers. Lots of Romanians too, for some reason.
German Servers = Germansphere
>Autistic children who are too dumb for any role besides physical dps
>NEETs who had the content done 1 month after release
>70% of server pop was always deathknight/rogue
>more edgy kids
German servers so only germans and germans in denial. Casual raiding and PVP was good. High level PVP and raiding was at least possible if u wanted more u had to move to the english servers but that was also okay.
>play on any western european server
>everyone is swedish
Really depends on the server, I'm talking back in vanilla. I think it might be bladefist, almost everyone was spanish or italian. Other servers had the eternal swede and most had just a healthy mix.
Played with belgians, brits, swedes and finns in my guild.
Yes, why do the Germans scream so much? We once had a German guest player in one of our raids, and he literally wouldn't shut up on vent. Screaming constantly. He was kicked eventually, and so was his buddy that vouched for him.
Sorry for you guys, when you're at the computer you can just relax. I guess you must have no personality. I was goofing up making people laugh half the time and making them angry the other. Still got invited to every raid and class officer. It all went downhill after that.
>mess something up during raid
>party leader yells at me
>alt+f4 out of the game
>think about it for the rest of the day
>not use the same character for months because they might remember and confront me
>priests asks me to help him with questing
>pretend im afk
>die to mobs
>spawn at the other side of the map
>priest tries to rezz me 3 times
>walk back 5 minutes
>cant ress this time because priest is soloing mobs with awkward speed
>wait 30 minutes untill he goes away
>go into Jadenar later
>priest is waiting in the staircase, asking for group
>Blizzard releases new content to American servers 24 hours before EU servers
>EU still get the world firsts
why aren't Americans hardcore like us?
>i browse one of the most autistic websites in the world and wonder why people are autistic
pve is fucking boring
PvE was the only redeeming factor of WoW, the PvP was just a way for geared people to oneshot people who didn't spend all evenings raiding.
It's the perfect mix of team work, personal performance and drama. DKP is the bane of my existence.
>the PvP was just a way for geared people to oneshot people who didn't spend all evenings raiding.
what? the weekly cap is done within an hour? pve takes infinitely more time to get geared
played on a PvE server where virtually no one had any grasp of the game and my battleground group just ran over everyone else. used to be very fun because the people i played with were really cool.
i recall the standarf of skill in this game was really low, there was some famous warlock called drakedog who made videos of him seduce-nuking idiots and he was regarded as some kind of god for basically using 3 abilities at best.
>ever leaving your main city after being leveled and geared
Only a minority of Canadians can even string together a sentence of French, it's just that you literally don't notice the English speaking Canadians and just assume they're American so they don't register for you.
>friend keeps telling me about how all players but him are noob
>oh yeah man the hunter quest was really hard
>somehow we end up playing on a server together later
>watch him play
>he turns using the keyboard
I was already pretty triggered at that point but I thought he was maybe just bragging
He was complaining about having trouble with an elite at some point, I told him to kite and he started backpedalling while shooting
>Tfw track of the franchise and the state of that community made me enough butthurt to come over to a dead game and not leave it ever since
WoW was fun for a while, but now only assblast remains in my memory.
>hunters were literally given two decent end-game items 4 free
>all they had to do in raids was to auto-attack
Did anyone else regret making their main a warrior after realizing how much responsibility was on you when playing PvE?
It was not very relaxing at all and became a chore
nah, my warrior was the most fun I had in vanilla. Paladin with 5 min blessings was so fucking bad, I don't know how it made live. Also molten core was constant bullying with the magic debuffs needing to be cleansed.
Military kid. They weren't all bad but many of them were. The Serbs would pic fights with everyone. People would just join your group for a dungeon and just be absolute cunts ninja'ing gear.
>Paladin with 5 min blessings was so fucking bad
But Warrior's Retaliation (a few seconds of counter-attacks) and Recklessness (a few seconds of +extra crit %) had a 30 minute cooldown in vanilla.
Only in late TBC or something was it changed to 5 minutes/2 minutes or whatever it was
>most autistic game in existence
go back to KC
>start playing nostalrius
>roll warrior aspiring to become arms pvp god
>vanilla pvp grind is horrible maybe ill start tanking dungs so i get gear
>few months later
>full prot guild mt on full t1/2
Where did it go so wrong guys...
Before 2008 Russians completely occupied 4 EU servers which were nominally English, but in fact became 99% Russian. In 2008 Blizzard launched separate Russian wow, offered free transfers for everyone and then CLOSED that 4 EU servers (i believe it was the only time blizzard completely closed a wow server). For many years Russians played in their separate battlegroups. A couple of years ago all european battlegroups were fused in one pool. The result is there are endless whining threads on all wow-related forums about evil Russians who dominate the BGs and farm poor little Europeans.
nost has plenty of bugs that still haven't been fixed, also it's laggy as fuck at times and full of chinks
still better than kronos though
I agree with you i started on nost on launch and it has become gradually worse every month. I just have so much invested on it so im not gonna quit until they do something absolutely unforgivable (the chinese issue and lag issues are really pushing it though)
Since we cannot into english the only players on french servers are french, belgians, swiss or quebecois (they are rare though, their timezone is no really compatible with our so they play together). There's always a bit of banter with the belgians but it's friendly.
how is it better? it's dead, the pop peaks at 800 while nost peaks at 14k on sundays. it also has a character/mount/tabard store and non-blizzlike gameplay changes
man fuck getting to 60; it's way too time consuming
you can just make a rogue/druid and gank people in redridge/stonetalon while they're questing, it's way more fun
The grind wasnt that bad few months after launch when the population peaked 6k on sundays. I managed to level 3 60s all in under 7 days /played. I imagine it would take tons of more time with quest mobs and objectives being camped by baby boostaltnigs with 60s on follow or the usual group of 5 xiaozhaos. The wpvp was actually enjoyable back then now if you try to prank someone with a twink you get a babyrage alt logging on main and camp you.
meh why even bother arguing with a shill
enjoy your dead server mate
i know how bad the grind is, i've got two 60s on nost took me 11 days /played just to get to level 60, and it wasn't worth it imo
the chink pop has gotten pretty bad, i agree. i especially hate the fags with level 60s on /follow
level 20 wpvp is still pretty enjoyable for me though, i don't really get ganked by 60s all that much. generally they only gank you if you're a twink or graykilling and stuff like that
>back in 2008-2012
>playing on private servers during teen years bc parents wouldn't pay 12 euros a month to let me play
>fianlly end up on a private server with 30 players online at max
>they had to allow horde and alliance to group together in order to make it possible to do raids
Still a best experience than the others 2000 players servers I played on before.
