Either you hold them to an outside identity and accept their culture or you allow them to adapt to Irish societal values, which if they "lie" and say they're originally from Ireland, it just means they want to be part of society rather than seen as a foreigner.

Just imagine a life time of those questions, being constantly made to feel like an outsider in the country you were born in (that you obviously have no control over).
