>tfw I grew a fetish for the Minnesotan accent
Do Minnesotan girls like the New Yorker accent as well?
>tfw no chubby midwestern gf to cuddle with through the cold winters
I'd rather have a healthy one tbqh
>Whatever accent is from Long Island
Kill yourself for your shit taste
t. From Long Island
I've never heard a NY accent in person, but a have a few friends from HS who really like that accent. But most Minnesotan girls won't leave the state, so you have that to deal with. Just move to like Duluth and catch some QTs.
Oh my fucking god that was perfect
Too cute! Your accent is very strong btw
Do you mean Long Island? I've never been to the East Coast so I don't know all these things.
As I said, move to Duluth and get a QT there. Duluth is legit top tier Minnesotan city. But thanks!
I dated a Russian Jew and that shit was the most infuriating and hottest thing I've done, not becasue she was money hungry, just that she was high maintenance and never stopped talking. Looking back it was probably unhealthy how much enjoyed her belittling and babying me...
Yeah, the Strong Island, there are a couple Minnesotans at my Uni here in Boston and I love there accent, dont think I would move to Duluth though the area seems desolate although comfy
Just because you terrone muli's also live in the south doesnt mean you need solidarity with our southerners
It's not to desolate, I went camping up there and it's really nice. The downtown is wonderful as well, I wish I had photos on my phone still.
Thanks I guess! I get mistaken for Canadian when I travel.
Not from the cities, I would fucking die living up there. I'm from a small farming community.
I have no real opinion on New Yorkers other than that they don't smile at people on the street which I feel is weird.
Yeah, southern MN is so cozy. We have a lot of land we still farm down here. But it is true that the northern part is best. I love camping up there in the summer and just visiting.
Last summer I accidentally went to Duluth during Grandmas Marathon and that was a clusterfuck. I will never do that again.
Should have skipped Duluth and just kept going up the north shore. It keeps getting better the further you go.
>I have no real opinion on New Yorkers other than that they don't smile at people on the street which I feel is weird.
Hahahaha, that's too funny
>90% of the country hates New Yorkers and thinks we're massive cunts (which we admittedly are).
Yep i think that's pretty much a fact
Hmmm, it sounds more like Lawng Eyelind
>tfw fob chink who went to elementary and middle school in NY
>had to go to 'speech therapy' to project my apparently too quiet voice
>move to ohio
>everyone looks at me like I'm retarded
>I am painfully aware how loud I was but I couldn't stop
There should not be this wide of a difference in a comparatively small area...
Oh I know, we camped near Two Harbors as well. It's great.
I've been there so many times yet I don't know what Grossmutter means. The performer Owl City is from Owatonna. Why do you go there?
It so is.
That's all I know. My sister said the same thing when she went, that people were unfriendly.
Oh, I use Oma when refering to my grandmother from Germany. But that's cool! Are you Minnesotan?
What college? You sound like a friend of a friend who goes to the U.
Oh that's kinda sad.
>That's all I know. My sister said the same thing when she went, that people were unfriendly
We are just rough around the edges (no but seriously many of us are assholes) but we are mostly just animated people with a grim resting face
No. My mum is, my dad is from Texas. I was born down there, but live in MA now. She tells us to use "Grossmutter" and my father as "Herr Vater." as I understand it is very formal.
Its just a joke, for most people they probably just see so many anonymous faces that make no expression towards them, as the faces just want to get where the need to go and fast. If you smile at us we will usually smile back, the exception probably being the people who actually want to kill themselves.
I actually considered getting an anthropology degree from there, but decided against it for Polysci. Go figure.
Well that's pretty neat, the more you know.
Grim resting faces can be scary though.
>pop and stuff like a normal human being
Kek sure thing
>Grim resting faces can be scary though
Well your accent would melt mine right off, too cute
I actually just started as a transfer student. It's a fucking big campus and getting from one class to another is a nightmare. I have 15 minutes to get from Folwell Hall to Blegen, from my Japanese class to my Anthropology class, and they're close to 1.5 miles away from each other. I'm in good enough shape where I can make the distance in time on foot, but goddamn, I need a better way to transit.
Where did you transfer from? A good friend of mine lives in Sanford and says the dorm situation up there is awful. So you have to go from West to East? I'm not super up to date with how that all goes as I only go up to visit.
There's more Minnesotans than I thought on this board, only other one I knew goes to UWEC
Well thanks pal. Try smiling when you're walking!
I will make note.
A two-year closer to St. Paul. I'm actually older than most of my peers, so it's kind of jarring to see all these kids fresh out of high school try to talk down to me. My apartment is about 20 minutes away from campus, so it's not that close, but I still walk every day because I'd hate to pay for a parking pass.
>he doesn't like my accent
baka desu sempai
Just a ten-minute walk from Annie's Parlour. Super close to Dinky. I actually really like it because it's so colorful. Way different from the country.
I am http://vocaroo.com/i/s1t3CyVQRcSJ
Why didn't God place me in Minnesota? Cutest + Comfiest accent.
I'd love to move there, and thought about it often.
I've driven through the twin cities. I might do it someday, but I'm currently have no career.
How's rent out there? the city I'm currently living is getting gentrified to hell by californians. I don't want to ruin someone's home like they're doing to mine.
I live in a smaller town and i have two roommates, and it's like 350USD/mo. with everything included. With no roommates it's like 500USD/mo.
But yeah, it's a great state.
Minneapolis may be a bit more spendy than that, just so you know. But still cheaper than most big cities.
Yeah, that happens in the winter. I like it though, it's kinda cozy. It set tonight around 5. Doesn't depress me too much because i'm used to it.
