ついでに is an adverb, so you can use it also to start of the sentence.
がてら is a conjunctive particle/an adverbial particle, so you can use it only in the middle of the sentence.
e.g. ついでに本を買った。 this is correct.
がてら本を買った。 this is wrong.
Gaijin says that it surprises them when they see us Japanese pointing at our own nose to mean "me."

It's probably meant to point the face.
We have lots of expressions in Japanese in which a "face" as a "self".
I think it's the same in English to a certain extent...like "to lose one's face."
It's about balance of power. Let's say you work for a huge tech company. You have a high level of skill and are paid well, but if you are to leave the company things are somewhat fine.
If you are at a smaller company and you have a high level of skill, then what you can do is take on many responsibilities. Then when you leave (on very good terms) people say about you "remember when this guy worked at our company and everything worked instead of being broken all the time." If you are friends with people from the company still, they might invite you back to consult with them when the situation is dire.
It's important to maintain good relationships wherever you move on. I put in one months notice before I quit always. I notice some of my colleagues will sometimes leave suddenly.
I see arigatou
Yes, in that case, 削 has same meaning.

Rather, there're more different meaning kanji than same meaning kanji.

Basically, saying a first person pronoun as a second person pronoun implies saying to someone inferior.
An old man says to a child: ぼく、迷子になったのかい?

あっ, I was just not paying attention to what I was reading
I read a phrase that said "貴方の自身はどうですか”?
But I never paid attention to the あなた and just read "自身はどうですか
Ahhhh, I see, I got the point.
It's still not native-ish to say 貴方の自身はどうですか or 自身はどうですか.
But I guess 自身 suits very formal situations and you can say ご自身の方ははいかがなされますか.
It's a difficult question so I'm sorry for my late reply.
It was ご自身 by the way and not just 自身
I got it from a Japanese business English book
Slept for 15 hours.

Japan seems like a great country for people that are 'night owls'. With so many stores open 24 hours you can live whatever lifestyle you want.
the only stores i saw open 24 hours were convenience stores
everything else that wasn't a bar was closed by 9-10pm
and nothing opens until 9-10am even in tokyo, which was fucking annoying because the early sunrise had me up at 5:30am stuck doing nothing for hours
