Rich white southerners have it great. There's still a huge disparity between the white and black populations in the south. The cities are overrun with impoverished blacks while all the whites live in ritzy suburbs. It still feels very segregated. The difference in HDI is astounding too. Even in a state as overall as poor as Mississippi, white HDI is still nearly double that of the black population.
