Hey, hoping some foreigner/someone who knows stuff could help me out a bit with a visa question. Tried googling around but I seem to just be running in circles.
I'm here on a student visa that expires on 1st of April, and want to get a tourist visa so I can stay longer, is there any way to change to a tourist visa or get one without leaving the country or do I have to just buy an expensive flight ticket out and then back into the country?
Students whose visa will expire before leaving Japan can change their visa status to “Short term stay”.
Maximum period of stay: 3 months
・Once visa status is changed to short term stay, re-entry into Japan is not allowed. (However, students from visa-waiver countries may re-enter Japan as a tourist. Please check with the embassy of the country involved.)
・Working a part-time job with a “short term stay” status is illegal.
why do so many westerners want to live in Japan?
I think that these people think Japan is like a paradise full of anime/manga and wive/husband material.
They don't realize that Japan is a place for japanese people only, there really is no place for us westerners there. only diplomats and travelers should go there. but studying, working, living there as a foreigner? A hell of a fuck no
I think I am one of the only gaijins that think that way.
Don't understand me wrong, I actually wanted to live in Japan once too, then I watched some videos and informed me.
I realized, this wouldn't be the country/culture I would love to live in. Most westerners love idividualism, but japanese people aren't individualists in any kind of way.
as a non-japanese, Japan truely is only a place to travel to.
We always ask for stuff about Japan. But what is your favourite Japanese documentary about something 'not Japan'?
(Also, what is your favourite Japanese documentary about Japan?)
I live in Japan and I like it. If you're not overly nationalistic about your own country and have an open mind--that youre not thoroughly convinced your way of doing things or what youre used to is absolutely correct, its fine.
they are the only people voting too
Put more emphatizes on the "selfish" part. I can't trust old folks in adapting to everchanging times. If they even put any thoughts into the future.
I mean, our cancellor is more or less young compared to your guys and she still thinks about the internet as soemthing new. Then again, my knowledge about japanese politics is very superficial to say in the least.
Youth know their votes won't change shit.
Oh, there's even one with different ages. Might as well post that.
Abe is working well. There is no reason to change the government. I support Abe.
>Nikkei stock price is 2 times.
>Unemployment rate is 3.3%, very low.
>Birth number of 2015 increased than 2014.
>Suicide number decreased for 6 years in a row.
Suicide number decreased for 6 years in a row.
I plan to visit japan in 50 years
would be nice to see the anime land irl
Wow Japan you are so fucking racist that you don't even see it. How can you be so goddamn oblivious to your xenophobia and blatant racism? It's not cute, it's disgusting.
Daily Reminder: NEVER, EVER EVER trust a Jap!

Make sure to sometimes read /ss/ as a break from loli manga. It makes the experience much more pleasurable.
You can't claim to be native okinawan if you don't know the story of the ear-cutting monk and the story about the beautiful wife who cut off her own nose.
Behold! The sweet fruits of your hard labour, anon.
Why? Native Taiwanese and a part of Southeast Asians were cannibals. But eventually, we can be best partner like this animu.
Japanese anons, how common is it for normies to know the meaning of 「中出し」?
I'm afraid I may have revealed my power level last night when I was explaining to a girl the meaning of English "creampie."
I'm sure 99% of us know a meaning of '中だし'.
>I'm afraid I may have revealed my power level last night when I was explaining to a girl the meaning of English "creampie."
Yeah, I have almost same experience with you.
When I was in English class, I called my English teacher 'a milf', because I thought it just refers 'a nice looking middle aged women.'
No. The Okinawan one is about a monk that carries a katana and a scythe and cuts off ears.
I couldn't ask her age, because she taught us that asking female's age is considered a rude thing. (She also taught us western manners as well as teaching English.)
She looked middle of 40s.
I think it refers '貿易管理'.
He/she arranges all import/export things such as booking a sea vessel, create shipping documents, adjust shipping schedule in order to meet customer's requires, and so on.
>She looked middle of 40s.
but, as we say, "white women age like milk"
it's possible she was in her 30s or even 20s, so that would be why she was offended
american women are very sensitive about age
extremely common for people younger than 40 years old i think
in most cases, but there are exceptions (such as my example)
The second one is correct.
implying the door was just locked when you tried to open the door. (The door was unlocked until you tried to open the door.)
If you want to say 'When I tried to open a door, but it was locked.', you should say 'ドアを開けようとしたが鍵がかかっていた。'
Yes. The full saying is that women age like milk and men age like wine.
>milk (not 'a milk')
>wine (not 'a wine')
When you write/speak those uncountable nouns, do you put a consciousness in order not to make a mistake? Or, are you able to write/speak them correctly without putting any consciousness?
We don't put much thought into it in most cases. In this case it's a very general sentence, so an article makes no sense.
Sometimes I have to think for a second too though, cause they use a few less articles than us.
Are you learning Japanese? How do you think that Japanese language doesn't have articles such as 'the' 'a' 'an'?
I am wondering why western language still have articles in their language system. Sentences can make sense without using articles. It makes things complicated.
I have a question.
Can you tell the difference between German girl and Dutch girl?
They're an important part of the language, and they add additional information to the sentence.
It's like asking why Japanese people still use so many personal pronouns. You don't need nearly so many, but having more of them lets you add more potential meanings to the sentence.
He is just an attention whore. He doesn't want to be a president actually. If he can get many attentions from audiences, it means he can advertise without putting many money. It is efficient way.
i'm concerned about my friends who want to vote for him... we're young and only 18, but they can't seem to see through his whole thing. i like rand paul, but no one will vote for him.
It hasn't been, but with this election it seems like a lot more of the younger generation is going out to vote, including myself.
How is Bernie Sanders viewed in Japan? I seen a twitter post earlier saying they hoped he and the UK candidate brought the US and UK into an age of socialism.
Young Canadians like to vote. That's the only reason our new Prime Minister was elected. This happened despite Canada having a large senior population. This is why I worry about Japan, they think their votes don't count.
You are right. That's the problem.
I think our gov should use internet technology for vote so that we can vote without wasting our time, but our gov is too afraid to use it. Old people don't want to use a new technology.
Clinton is an absolute fucking idiot and if elected guarantees another term of mediocrity and nothing of note, just like the past 15 years.
At least Sanders and Trump will do something different. I mean, when the fuck did that last happen? JFK, LBJ?
I am stupid about politics things, so I don't know about him at all, even his name. Does he put his focus on turning the US into a socialism country?
In Japan, some young generation gradually started to feel a sympathy against socialism, because no matter how they work, they are still poor tier. On the other hands, old generations are still able to get more wage than young generations. Young generations think it is very unfair. In fact, Japanese communist party marked historic high votes from young generations on the last election.
>some young generation gradually started to feel a sympathy against socialism
You mean シールズ?
They have been hired from Japanese communist party through the CCP, South Korean student group that supports comfort women is also the same shit. Taiwanese call them 紅衛兵.
How did your public school teach you about sexual things in your country?
Japanese students are divided to boys group and girls group. The boys are educated about males' body, for example, "masturbating is nothing wrong" thing and "How was you created by your parents" thing.
I don't know how was the girls' group educated.
I also know very little about SK political situation, I just heard from Korean friend, he said Chinese population rapidly increased there by their politicians sell the land and that's the same as Chinese invasion.
At least I know one of them exposed about their daily wage of シールズ.
I went to a Catholic school, so we just did the bare minimum that was legally required. They showed us some videos about how to put a condom on and where babies came from and stuff. I remember laughing a lot during them.
I also laughed a lot during the class. But my dick intentionally got hard because my teacher demonstrate a sex by using real female doll with a vagina, so I was upset about how I could hide my erected dick.
Hitler wasn't White or aryan, but just Jewish Ken sama(orientboo)
>using real female doll with a vagina
wtf-we just had a book
Sapporo is one of the most westernized cities in Japan, I think.
>Our chiristmas market is just like as German one.
>Sapporo would never prosper without William Smith Clark.(American guy)
>Even some of our girls look like non Japanese.
>Many foreigners live in the city.
>Local news reporters are sometimes Russian and German and bla bla bla.(pic related)
