Questing in the West-Midlands edition
So lads, which should I go with?
I usually have a thing for dark hair but I do love dirty blonde/dirty blonde with the right face shape (slav girls)
She's not a nord mate
Thought about trying that so I can give some blow for cash on an underworld/thief girl like my Fallout 2 dumb slut adventures but it all seems a bit much and too forced.
I don't want to have dialogue come up for every NPC I run into saying "face fuck me hehe" because some 350lb anime autist set it up
Usually some places have some exchange rate you have to pay to prevent this
Like anything, you've should really have some understanding of what you're investing into. It's not much different to investing into a company. If you have reason to believe that the country/company is going to improve for whatever reason then it's worth a punt. The major difference being that countries artificially inflate, or deflate their currencies for trade so it's a lot of homework. I'm sure people with inside knowledge on such things do it all the time.
i'm literally fucking freezing lads. living in these big old houses with shitty radiators is horrible when it's cold. my room literally has the old fireplace converted into a decorative mantelpiece and it'd literally serve better as an actual fucking fireplace
Sucking on a straw will give you the same wrinkles that sucking on cigs will
So here I am literally on the opposite side of the world (~19000km) and I bump into a group of Jerseylads.
Absolutely mad t bh they've even got this.
There must be only a few hundred of us outside the island at any one time, what are the chances?
There's a lot of misinformation about them, vapour is fundamentally harmless, smoke isn't. They're as healthy as the liquid you put into them. So if you fill it with Chinese metal laced water, then yeah.. that's bad. If you put in decent liquid then they're safe as houses.
You've got to expect a certain amount of backlash against them, doesn't mean it's true.
>boring classical paintings from yuropeans
>bold and interesting use of shape and color from the Japanese, human form is almost abstract in its distortion of the features
the japanese painting is far more interesting, lol @ british education
>oh, i didn't catch you there
>didn't i mention?
>i come from the greatest nation on earth, the united states of america!
>these boring classical paintings doing nothing but representing reality one for one
these are the type of thing my grandma would say Now THAT'S a painting! literally the reddit of the art world
desu you have to remember at the time this was completely unheard of, literally no one anywhere bothered with realism or representative art at all.
People like Durer might have made dull paintings by modern standards, but things like pic related were revolutionary steps in art
(specifically this in basically portraying himself as Jesus)
meanwhile art elsewhere was far too caught up in convention and archetypes for any meaningful change
nothing against classical paintings, I just don't feel challenged by them. I prefer contemporary art where you have to work a little to tease out the meaning.
as an aside, do any anons know of a good art archive where the images are large enough that you can see the brush strokes? its hard to find good high res pics of paintings
just ate 2 slices of beans and toast and 1 normal toast
didn't do enough beans for all 3 but decided to go with 2 slices with good coverage instead of 3 sparsely populated slices
muller corner for pudding, strawberry shortcake
it means the artist is just portraying reality as his eyeballs see it, I believe impressionism was one of the first steps away from this and then with Picasso we had modern art: abstract, not as concerned with subject or eschewing it entirely
I really miss muller corners t bh
Managed to find a few excellent products at an import store though. Cinnamon grahams (I'll never accept the new name) and bottle green elderflower cordial. Having a nice refreshing summer drink as I type this.
>I just don't feel challenged by them
you know nothing about art and its history then
not to mention even "photorealistic" art was often used to portray very deep or complex scenes
I think your issue is more with Reformation era German art where the focus was technical skill and perfect realism over any deep meaning
there is a painting of several farm animals (pic related) which was one of the most celebrated paintings in all of Europe at the time for both its size and its realism.
now however its fairly dull.
either way though if anything realism opens up new avenues for art beyond very basic crude representations
so what's so deep about a painting like the ones anon posted? I see the emotion in the men's faces, I understand you can look to the political climate at the time of the painting and see how it influenced it. what is there beyond that
just because the setting is "realistic" doesn't mean the scene portrayed can't be powerful
like this is far more emotional and meaningful than this fairly plain, though still pretty Chinese landscape http://data.whicdn.com/images/26679506/large.jpg
This picture was painted the same year Hitler was born.
since this is anime central, help a brother out
I'm looking for an episode of fullmetal alchemist where someone is killed inside of the talking armour
I saw it years ago and I've been thinking about it, I can't find it when I don't even know their names
>so what's so deep about a painting like the ones anon posted?
I'm not talking about those, but European art in general and why it is far more developed and diverse than other cultures
the ones posted here >>53805261
are all very good portraying a wide range of things from dramatic re-telling of ancient history, to an almost fantastical yet ordinary riverscape showing the beauty in day to day life, to the horrors of war
pic related is annother fantastic exampel of the power of realistic styles
you can really feel the emotion of Ivan IV here simply because of the skill taken with portraying his reaction to killing his own son
in the Japanese painting you can hardly tell the emotions behind it at all, its just some scowl with hardly any human connection.
You realise the Japanese painting is cherry picked, right?
my brother has shown me this painting many times, this is his favorite painter. I like the use of light in the European paintings, it is magnificent. but the shapes and colors are boring to me. maybe the japanese painting is normal to them but having been bombarded with images of european art my whole life I see the japanese painting as pushing the boundaries, edging towards abstraction. which of course leads to shit like Warhol who imo was the real genius of the 20th century, showing us the beauty in the everyday. you wanna talk about the power of realistic styles
this is not any better
the Japanese like nearly every other culture didn't care about emotional impacts but rather valued art more for its meditative aspects, which is why you have so many "peaceful" landscape paintings, which although pretty are not terribly impressive or moving.
desu Christianity combined with Roman-greek ideas of the human form is what pushed European art so far beyond the rest
Buddhism, Islam, and other assorted pagan faiths are not terribly conducive to diverse and moving art.
annother painting, my favorite depiction of war in all its brutality and chaos, the masses of men almost merge together as a single entity in the melee, yet the use of lighting and position among other highly developed European ideas draws your eye to the key figures in the scene to tell a story through each of them.
>Must be exceptionally rare in Thailand
You'd expect so wouldn't you? You'd be surprised though. Every supermarket carries European/American/Australian imports, some more than others. There's one owned by the Waitrose group that has all their homebrand stuff. Occasionally with a ridiculous markup, admittedly. There's another which specialises in imports.
There's only a few things that I can't find to this day.
desu it sounds more like you are just bored in general, but that's no knock against the quality of European art through every era.
being an Orientalist is all well and good but ultimately its just due to your own isolation and the "east" having this fantastical quality.
here is one that is bordering on realism and expertly uses the light and feeling of movement to show these two men almost as monsters.
>but having been bombarded with images of european art my whole life I see the japanese painting as pushing the boundaries, edging towards abstraction
here's something simple but also great to show the power of realism, look at the detail and emotion on the faces of all the party goers
the painting as a whole is a scene in itself
I feel like an asshole for posting such a lowres pic of a Picasso but hey, I love realism as much as anyone but this type of thing really speaks to me. To me this captures the movement and emotion of the scene as much as anything. Picasso found people on the fringes of society like these jugglers and painted them, he humanized them, these people were just gypsies looked down on by most people. but here we see them not flying through the air on trapeze but in a mostly ordinary domestic scene, although the boy is practicing a circus act
If Atlantic Canada left Canada and joined the UK, i dont think anyone would mind
plus, since they're more ethnically British (English/Irish/Cornish/Scottish/Welsh) than the UK, it makes sense.
>I am Noel Fielding comedian, actor, artist and musician, one half of The Mighty Boosh ! I take many forms.
abstract styles are good too, but Asian art isn't abstract, its something else entirely with completely different goals in mind compared to European art.
beyond that its also very static
European art is very alive and active, the realistic paintings look they could come to life in a moment
then you have works like this where its almost purely an image of momentum and vibrant emotion alive and invigorated on the canvas, like as if the very idea of "movement" was painted down.
since when is Irish not an ethnicity of the British Isles?
well thats what im trying to ask the brits, we would like to leave, we've never suffered more economically until we joined Canada
>people always make fun of Atlantic Canada
>mfw they're the whitest
>mfw they have the lowest crime rate (10 or so homicides/yr with 2.4 million people)
>mfw they're the happiest Canadians
>mfw they hold the torch for Canadian identity, as they are the only places in Canada that havent seen large scale immigration in the past 100 years or so
well all the newfies would still be back in their fisheries not giving a fuck, but Smallwood was smart enough to led Canadians sell away the grand bank fishing rights
was smoking a spliff out the window and dropped it onto the conservatory roof
can't reach it and have to fully climb out of my window to retrieve it
hopefully it doesn't rain before the morning
and you got politicians to thank for making sure Newfoundland would be economically screwed
special thanks for the Canadian government in allowing East Asian and Russian fishing tankersto absolutely destroy the fish population, young and old, while wrecking one of the richest fish breeding grounds in the world
It's just fun to be able to fly around or turn metal whenever you feel like it. Set a button on xbox controller to trigger it.
Never played any mods, i'll look into it.
Doing a wake up in the middle of the night haha
Had a dream where Jez aka Big Jezza aka Jezbollah aka Comrade Corbyn aka Jihadi Jez aka Hobo Stalin became PM and as part of his new progressive socialist policies gave me a government issues Syrian refugee gf who looked exactly like Golshifteh Farahani and she had really nice feet and we lived happily ever after but then I woke up and now i feel depressed because it wasn't real hahahaha
Ontario isn't all bad, really. Kingston is very nice.
What the fugg :DD
>4% difference between the highest and the lowest "satisfied or very satisfied with life in general"
m8 you literally can make 4% of people say they're satisfied or dissatisfied with life by sending them free samples of soap in the mail. what a worthless statistic to even drag up. and between 2003-2011? the years when statscan was bleeding out the ass thanks to cuts? you could reference a burger joint's customer feedback box and get more telling results.
desu if you've ever been out east, you know the people are happy living simple lives and not bother with the rest of the world.
literally hobbits with boats, its a pretty neat life.
>I do need to build up speed for 12 hours
It's £2 for 50 weeks of the year
why the fuck do you need this extra £1.50 right now?
Fuck you asda.
Teams having a half hour break, I'm ranked just outside the top two hundred now globally and we've won every single game we've had tonight
LETS GO BABY
the only competitive game series that's actually fun to play and doesn't require autism to be good (see LOL, starcraft, DOTA etc)

Why not try to pull vocaroo girl? People have met on 4chan before. You both like freedom and burgers. Stranger things have happened.
don't tell anyone lads, but I'm a genetic clone of Adolf Hitler. They wanted to see what would happen if Hitler had access to the internet. Turns out he would become a fat nerd who whines on /r9k/ and /int/ all day
Mummy's getting up for work
I'm going to shit in her underwear drawer
Who here is a kissless virgin with literally no friends, online presence and never had a gf?
I lift, ride a motorbike and have been called hot
Also I'm all the things you said
