Can someone explain to me why this is supposedly a popular beer? Everytime I try it, it takes like skunk shit. Heineken is another dogshit beer. Do other non Europeans feel like they're being subtly trolled into trying this garbage again and again thinking it will be good eventually and you just got a bad batch?
In europe there is actually a lot of good beer, but I don't not why stella or heineken are popular, it's shit compare to god-tier beer in bars. And even in bottles and caps some are good.
I'd rather drink something that tastes like nothing like Coors light than European macro lager. Their mass produced beer is borderline sour and often skunked because they don't believe in dark bottles.
This is objectively the best beer you can find in the UK. It's a tad pricey though... £1.79 for a 50cl.
Pretty much all British beer is crap compared to the real stuff from Belgium, Germany or Czech Republic desu.
Who /Trappist/ here? Shit is good
Ignore the shit pork roast, my mom made it and she's bad at cooking
In Canada it's 3.15cad for a tallboy.
I can buy "expensive" tall cans of way better microbreweries for less. It's not BAD beer I guess, but if I'm looking for a beer of similar quality I could just buy vastly superior tiger for 50 cents less.
OP here. This makes a lot of sense. Thank you for educating me on this matter. I've noticed brown bottled beer usually tastes pretty good. Why don't Euros use brown bottles instead?
Try this you pussies. Its a cool beer. Even Putin drink it. Stella Artois? What? Hahaha.
Yeah the leffe blonde is very good desu, for a "famous" brand at least.
My favorite belgian beer is the St-Feuillien though, but it's hard to find it France.
Yeah, you can find very good beers in french Flanders and eventually Brittany, but outside these regions I'm not sure there are a lot of decent brands.
A beer thread pops up everyday on this board. It's literally just a "stop liking what I dont like" thread.
I mean it doesn't stand out as much (I like it a bit more but that's because I absolutely hate Budweiser).
Fun fact: Imported Heineken is better than dutch Heineken
11 dollars for that? Over here it's 1 euro 35
I've always found it amusing how popular this beer is. Is like the pinnacle of meme beers.
I mean I drink it and like it unironically, but I also like a lot of disgusting shit as well.
Those I can find here (4.95~14.86 USD), gonna take a look.
Oh, suppose the big bottles are about 4 euros here. Still, that's a pretty costy trip.
Do you have palm beers over there?
Pic related, favorite Belgian beer
Never liked that beer, I'm more a Warsteiner guy, but my friends don't like it for some reason.
>drinking super hoppy IPAs, Stouts/Porters, Trippels and Trappist beers all night
I can tell you lads don't get out much. They have their place I agree, and that's at home.
When you're actually getting on it, the Polish are the kings of session lagers. Americans and their 2% pisswaters (like, how do you even get drunk off 2% beer?) would feel like they've been struck with a hammer.
Grolsch 'Herfstbok' & Hertog Jan 'Karakter' are ones you should definitely find there.
Grand Prestige (or 'Karakter' if you can't find that one) is a dark beer that is absolutely great for the winter months.
Grolsch 'Herfstbok' is actually more an autumn beer, but if your winter is as warm as ours, still very drinkable. It's a bockbeer, meaning it is a fairly dark beer with some caramel flavor
There are some more obscure ones like Jopen but they're fairly unknown even here.
I have no idea of what you just said. But yeah, we exclusively drink national beers, and export a few of them (Tecate, XX, Corona). Minerva, Pacifico and Negra Modelo are the best ones. But we are used to drink beer exclusively cold on our sunny beaches, if we want to get pissed we drink Tequila or hard liquor. Mexican beer is mild at best so no one drinks it to get drunk.
Idk why tho. I could swear that some famous people are paid to promote corona on social media.
>be studying for cicerone exam
>doing blind tasting in study group
>one of the beers is skunked to hell and tastes like a eurotrash lager that comes in a green bottle
>guess correctly; it's Heineken
>in a can
>our faces when we realize people are so used to drinking skunked Heineken that they intentionally skunk it before canning to meet consumer expectations
I agree, Polish beer is the best.
>pic related: my favorite polish beer
>no one on /int/ realizes the best beer in the world is brewed in Quebec
>Americans and their 2% pisswaters (like, how do you even get drunk off 2% beer?)
Is this bait or are you retarded? I've never even heard of a 2% beer ever, let alone an American one. Most American macro lagers are between 4% and 5%, which is normal. Also Brits have no room to talk when it comes to weak beers, since many bitters are under 4% abv.
Canuck beer rating
>not God Tier
Fine, I'll try again
>no cozy nooks
>no wood burning fires
>not a cask ale in sight
>TVs on the wall
>micro-memes on tap or otherwise utter piss macro
you can buy franziskaner, paulaner, erdinger, weihenstephaner etc. in most supermarkets lad
See them on tap a lot in craft-orientated pubs.
I don't know what you consider "micro" and "macro", but I'm sure this reaches far greater number of people and a larger geographic area than a lot of British "macros".
>unfortunately for you, these places only exist in fiction
Are you serious right now? I live right down the street from a place exactly like that. They're all over the place in the US.
Any big international brand reaches this level sooner or later. Even if you have it on tap. Here fucking Stella is not even trying anymore, haven't had it for ages. Petroleum bitter instead of hops bitter, fuck it. Would have a picrelated instead any day.
>tfw Welly burnt down
>all the Cricket gear was in there too
RIP in peace
>"[faux-Irish pubs] only exist in fiction]"- Actual quote from (you)
>That's bullshit, they're everywhere. Just google "O'[Irish Name]'s Pub" and you'll get hundreds of them.
...And your comeback to that is to call me a redneck or something?
I love living within 3 miles of two stores that sell nearly 1000 kinds of imports, and nearly 500 domestics from Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New England.
This is my go-to winter right now, and I'm 2 down, 2 to go this evening.
Looks super comfy desu. Too bad alcohol will be illegal soon.
They do. If we want yuros to take us seriously, we have to admit when they have us beat. OUr bar culture more closely resembles a club culture where people go to get blasted, listen to loud music, and pick up sloots. There aren't that many cozy pubs like the above.
>Our bar culture more closely resembles a club culture where people go to get blasted, listen to loud music, and pick up sloots. There aren't that many cozy pubs like the above.
Outright wrong, fampie
>search for "london sports bar"
>find a television mounted on the wall
You're right, but we just don't have a pub culture like you guys do. Our bars are geared toward entertainment and socialization purposes. Honestly, drinking in a British pub with a bunch of crotchety old men doesn't really sound like it's any better than drinking at home, alone.
>depends on where you live
No matter where you live, you will always find sports bars with TVs, an Irish theme, and macros on tap. I don't even know what about this you find so offensive that you're trying to convince people on the internet they don't exist.
I'm sure in major cities like New York and Boston there are a few that are like that, but the closest thing we have on a mass scale are shitty hipster dive bars. They're less comfy, and more ironically dirty.
They don't exist here man. Out of the hundreds of unique places to buy alcohol within walking distance of my apartment, there aren't any that are like this.
The hipsters won, and it's a much better alternative.
Outside of the northeast, traditional "pubs" don't exist, in the sense that you're talking about.
Most of our pubs that actually resemble pubs are noveau-pubs that people have been painstakingly replicated as hobbies, usually gen-X children of old money in flyover states.
>he thinks he can brew better beer than Germans, Czechs and other Europeans who have been doing it for literally thousands of years
Nice try faggot
Has anyone had pic related? I got a six pack of it the other day and thought it was delicious. I can't believe that it has such high ABV. I couldn't even notice it.
