Is it true other countries make fun of America for eating burgers? What's wrong with burgers?
Why is it then that when something happens here, it becomes worldwide news?
>stating a harmless fact triggers Americans' competition-seeking inner child
Yes sunshine, you're important. Please tell your euro uncles about your relationship with food.
It's entertainment. We see your politics and news as entertainment, not as noteworthy events.
"Hoho did you hear such and such said this one thing ?"
"Wow americans say the dumbest shit !"
and that's the end of the discussion.
You don't understand, that's actually quite a lot.
No one in America ever would say "Hey want to go see that hit German movie?" "Hey did you hear about that big movie star (german)?"
"Hey let's go down to the local German restaurant!" that doesn't happen here
You don't understand how Americanized you are that you think America has little effect on you when it's actually quite large
But you choose to listen to OUR dumb shit instead of the dumb shit in other countries. Dumber shit happens in other countries all the time, mainly third world ones. Why not lay attention to that nearly as much as you pay attention to us?
When you bring your gf at dinner you ask "shall we eat Italian?". Almost the totality of music and movie industry is in the US, of course it has some kind of influence on our lives, but not nearly as much as your ego would like to hear. Your importance as a nation stops in the very moment we stop consuming an entertainment product made there, and it's the least one can expect in a globalised economy
Also this. Blockbusters aren't even that much of a huge market here anymore, except for huge brands such as star wars or main Hollywood titles. Tons of Italian movies and other europeans'.
It's not our fault you guys are undisposed to reading subtitles. We watch foreign films very often here in France, particularly other European films. And while sure, we do watch American films and listen to some American music, we're pretty stuborn here in Europe, we're all clinging to our local customs quite strongly. Sure, we're somewhat up to date with what's happening in your country, but that doesn't stop us from continuing the same traditional routine of being we've had for hundreds of years.
If anything we end up passing your American stuff through our own cultural filter and appropriating it (like in French New Wave cinema).
I do understand that America does have an effect on us a bit, but I'm sorry you're completely wrong when you think we LITERALLY ARE AMERICANS and we're just WAITING FOR THE NEW AMERICAN THING TO TALK ABOUT so we can all DRESS LIKE YOU and TALK LIKE YOU and BECOME YOU LITTLE BY LITTLE.
I recommend you travel a bit before you start making overblown statements like that.
People don't make fun of America for eating burgers. You make it yourself just like you told the world that negroes are criminals and dumb.
Everything in big chains is low quality.
Inconvenient to eat.
No one said that, you read too much into it
>Everything in big chains is low quality.
That's true for just about everything though. Only exception I can think of is Costco. Maybe Aldi. No point bringing it up.
Well, check OP
Check this statement, which is clearly related to OP
And check the seriously concerned replies spacing out to politics and relevancy or implied cultural dominance
Enough said. Guess you've been educated with certain dogmas since you were kids tho, so I can sympathise.
You said nobody cares about the US. At least my comments were just pointing out how that's blatantly false. I was never claiming some hugely exaggerated thing like your culture revolves around ours.
Well guess it was pretty obvious you were supposed to relate it to the thread's subject. Of course people care about america. Slightly more than any other country on the other side of the world since we're supposed to be close allies, but still, they're not nearly as concerned to care about anything about you besides the stereotypes every country has.that's it.
People forgot about its existence until we got reminded turkey was in NATO during the fuckery with Russia. Besides, many NATO members Italy included can defend themselves therefore should dismantled. (Not going to elaborate I'm drunk and will soon sleep)
Japan is our only burger ally, the others do not understand.
If Russia attacked any of the Western European countries (a call of duty-tier scenario btw) an alliance would be easily put up just like when you asked the western world for help every time you had to attack some sandy asshole in ME.
>implying the non-US coalition forces were functional and not purely for appearances
Didn't. I cited your adventures in ME and the hastly-made allied coalition as an example of how NATO isn't an essential institution like it was thirty years ago, since friendly nations with common interests would easily ally against any invader without nuisances such as spending money in NATO.
I don't understand the hate. It has a nice mix of everything you need. Carbs for energy from the buns, protein from the ground beef, calcium from the cheese, and all those nice veggies you put on it are good for you too. You can even add guacamole for those nice fats. And it's convenient and tasty.
