If you were German, what would you want your name to be?
OTTO VON HERR BARON HOFFENHAUZERMAUZERFAUSTPANZEREISENBLUTVERTILGENFREIHERR
>tfw Latin name
That one demands instant respect. Nice.
Gunther or Günther?
The former sounds ancient though arguably better.
I guess someone had to get it out of the way.
Well at least it worked, there isn't any resentment because everyone feels French first
I don't approve killing local languages but it worked the country we don't see what happens with Catalonia in France
And Occitan, Breton, Corsican and other aren't endangered anymore, now depending on where you live you can learn them in school if you wish, there are tv channels in Occitan etc
I took Occitan in middle school but I've pretty much forgotten it, I'll probably pick it up again one day tho I can already understand the written and spoken language
people bordering germans from this side call them "illiterates" or "mutes/dumbs" because of their 'language'
>unphonetic languages that sound like cavement grunting
If I was German I'd want to have a Greek or Roman or Slavic name 2bh
Because of the whole chosen people thing, it's pretty much an analogy like every Jewish surname is. Although now that I think of it the name is also used by some non Jewish family in Bavaria and Austria. Also we Low Countries have the Keyser variant that is completely unhebraic
>Jakob, Jeckel (diminutive), Jäckel (diminutive), Köbes (diminutive), Jackl (Bavarian diminutive)
Gurgl von Pfatzerkl-s'Tottenhankie zu Adolftatsnichtfalsch und Taxis
I am german, but my name is more like russian. If I could choose a truly manly german name, I would go with Siegfried Kircheis.
