Yes, but the time my building was made, they were using VERY shitty materials for everything (except the structural...fucking >18" concrete walls), and with little to no maintenance, the pipes degrade very quickly.

German Tap water is perfectly drinkable, it's quality beats bottled water in the germs-free department.
But real Germans rarely drink Tapwater we prefer Mineral Water that fits our personal diet. Also it has to be sparkling Mineral Water preferably naturally sparkling not carbonized Mineral Water. Artifiscially carbonized mineral water is for students and poor people only.
