Level 9, 39% in French here

I've taken two semesters of French in school already and I'm going to start the next semester tomorrow with a third course
>>
Who is learning German?
>>
fuck i completely forgot about duolingo
i should start again today
>>
>>53440712
I finished the tree but gave up after the tree extension.
I'm now pedal to the metal with swedish so I can read all these rape news articles
>>
>>53440712
I was learning German but I dropped it after the refugees.
>>
>>53440630
46% get on my level
>>
>>53437469
44% "fluent" in Russian, I'm probably about half that in reality. Mostly doing it 'cause it seems like knowing Russian will probably be very useful in the future since I intend to join the Defence Force + it's easier than Chinese.
>>
Level 10? Norwegian. Do like 40xp a day on average.

Can someone recommend good children's books for basic reading
>>
>17 % fluent in Italian

Getting there.

>>53441512
Min Kamp.
>>
Just made it to level 18 in German.

My first day of language class was today too.
>>
>trying to learn German
>only very very basic stuff, Die frauen, der Mann etc
>can get the answers most of the times but can't write it down on paper without assistance
Never gonna make it

Also I think it's a bit dumb how you can become fluent by just grinding the early stages
>>
>>53442601
wher are you from? do you have a job already?

>>53442750
>can't write it down on paper without assistance
why? crippled?
I never wrote shit down. Did you write anything to learn to speak english?
>>
Level 5 Russian here
>>
>>53443321
Where I'm from is a good question. I haven't lived in the same country for more than 6 years. And I don't have a job.
>>
>>53440712
I am one row away from finishing the tree (some modules not full strength) but I have been stuck at 44% for a few months. While I don't think 44% is too wrong, having the same percentage despite having learned at least 20 badge seems weird.
>>
>>53444303
Bist du ein Flüchtling?
>>
>>53444303
ok, what is your genetic context? are you from a magical race of wondering rich gypsies, or a regular bum touring europe?

Also, what countries? I never left mine...
>>
>Me

>English level 15/52%
>Italian level 12/48%
>Spanish level 11/48%
>Portuguese level 8/30%
>French level 7/24%
>Esperanto level 6/Don't know, still in beta
>>
>>53445074
Nein.

>>53445479
Okay fine. My parents are basically diplomats so I've constantly moved around the world all my life but now that I'm out on my own I live alone in Germany. And I don't work or studyat the moment because I am trying to devote all of my time learning German. I just live off of a mutual fund that my father set up for me when I was born. I'm definitely not a bum.
>>
>>53447985
but what raaaceeeeeee.

come one, we are all ">white" here, it's ok
>>
>>53441338
I feel like Indonesian would probably be a good choice for the defence force as well.
>>
I am level 5 german and I was level 7 Italian before I realised how much I disliked Italy. The only language I really want to learn is Finnish but that is not going to get a course for ages and I doubt it would be as effective because the grammar is so different.
>>
>>53448052
pls no bully but I was born in Germany to German parents. I left Germany at the age of 4 so my German is quite shitty because my parents only spoke English/French with me so I could begin school in the country that we lived in at the time. But I rarely have used French in the past 10 years so now my French is shitty as well.

I've recently returned to Germany to begin my own life and learning German is a major obstacle that I need to overcome beforehand.
>>
>>53448164
Of course the aussie learns the language of memes.
>>
Level 7 French
Pretty busy currently so I can't progress a lot, I do keep a daily steak though.

>Finnish

>>53448450
oh that makes sense

How do people get to level 25? what the actualest fuck.
Is it the immersion thing?

And how is immersion? should I?
>>
>>53448450
I bet you haven't tried Polish either. Another meme language.
>>
really hate objective pronouns haha
>>
>>53448638
>>53448619
>>53448450
other than Spurdo and a couple of reaction pictures there really is not that many Finnish memes compared to the rest of the worlds languages.
>>
>>53440712
Ich. Wie weit bist du in den deutschen Baum?
>>
>>53440712
40%
>>
>>53443590
Same
>>
>>53448785
if it's just for fun, ok

But it's not about quantity, the finnish have taken ironic shitposting to unthought of levels. Only understanding such a shitmess of a laguage you could really LIVE the finnish paradigm of "fög evrising!", trully a religious experience for many.
If you really want to forward your career consider doing a doctorate under Finnish tutoring.
>>
>>53450534
What does Una vela mean while on the topic of meme language?
>>
>>53450585
>una vela
literally "a candle", slang for "a joint"

>"mirando los Simpsons y fumando una vela"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9AB6WJMla4

suddenly all argie shitposting makes sense, doesn't it?
>>
>>53450745
