That's my point, they just converted to local currency. It's a nominal conversion, not real conversion. They also ignore how much every population needs money: high unemployment and means more need.
So in the end the study is biased. It's partially a representation of honesty and partially a representation of how rich the population is.
The only significant conclusion is that Indians, despite a huge poverty percentage, are really fucking honest. The study requires statistical control to give precise answers. They wasted 9600 dollars on a meaningless web article.
