The thing is.
There's a cultural and historical reason for it.
"Canadian" identity was mostly inexistant up until the father of CURRENT YEAR prime minister took over.
Pierre Elliot Trudeau pretty much created a canadian identity for the masses. Before that, english canadians we're sucking that Queen dick hard. Most of those older folks back then saw themselves as british citizens and not Canadians.
Québec however, never saw itself as anglophone or canadian because of their french roots.
So because of the language barrier and identity. They started making their own stuff.
Books, TV, Radio, plays, newpaper etc etc.
Hell, Québec produces so many movies compared to the rest of Canada every year it's almost embarassing.
But that's the thing.
When sombody succeeds in English Canada. They just go south to suck that big fat american dick and they never come back to the frozen wastelands of MappleSyrupia.

William Shatner, Mike Meyers, Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Justin Bieber, etc etc
All fucking canadians.
When somebody succeeds in Québec, it's either, go to France to sell some shit and come back.
