Canada actually is the greatest country on Earth, I fucking love living here (and yes, I spent over 5 years abroad in other cunts so I'm speaking from experience).

We are able to combine the American attitude of making it on your own in the new world, with basic socialist principles like healthcare and workers rights, with the end effect being a country where everyone can make ends meet without killing ourselves. Not to mention yes, we can own guns. Pretty much exactly like Americans except we dont carry them around because our terrorists are too busy making pizza or stirring my coffee at timmies kek

No nation is tied to the land here (our natives are all mixed or just dont care) so multiculturism is an actual thing that can be achieved, not to mention we dont take shit immigrants anyway (even our refugees are women, children or single men (only if homo...lol).

I can understand the hate here because everything from our flag to having the second biggest country on Earth makes every lesser nation jelly as fuck.

The main difference between us is that you formed a union of states under a republic and we kept monarchy. There are closer cultural ties from people of the west coast of Canada and the west coast of the US than there are with other Americans on the east coast etc.

The Ontarian flag still proudly holds not only the Union Jack in the corner, but also St George's Cross on its emblem. All provinces have some form or another of British monarchical symbolism. Saskatchewan has a red lion, Nova Scotia has a reversed St Andrew's Cross with a Scottish lion in the middle, Ontario and Manitoba have good ol' red ensigns...

I've been to England to visit my family there, and they love Canadians thoroughly, as much as we love them too. Proper proper English folk that is.

It's weird to think for me at least, my siblings and cousins and myself are the first generation in our family for years to be born without a national flag being a Union Jack, or something without a Union Jack on it. My parents, grandparents, and back all born under a red ensign, and then any time before that they were all Union Jack. Even after 1867, a quarter of my family came from England in 1905 to Canada, and my great grandma (the last emigrant in the family) died in 1998, when she was 96. I don't really remember her, but one of my earliest memories is her having me on her lap as she read me a story. My great grandad was half Finland Swedish half English and he died about a month before my birth.
