Freezing bread is optional it helps the bread last longer. If you plan on eating all the bread in a small timespan (like making sandwiches for a potluck) then leave it at room temp.

Refrigerating eggs is a must afic. They will go rotten and get salmonella etc.

But yeah i refrigerate my eggs. I recently was made known that our eggs last much longer then the prescribed 28 days it stands on the package. The EU demands them to be marked as such because eggs from other european countries could contain salmonella, but eggs in Norway dont and can be eaten even after 7 months or more. So i have started buying eggs in bulk instead. Is it like that in the US?

If you make the bread yourself you can freeze it and it wont lose much taste. Freezing bread that you buy in a bakery should not be frozen. It's mostly made at such a low cost effeciency that you cannot preserve it as long due to it's low quality.

What is this meme? I always get a batch of about 30 eggs from our local chicken farmer, never put them in the fridge and I get maybe 1 or 2 rotten eggs every year.

As we don't wash our eggs with soapy water (just brush the dirt off) they still have a natural layer that prevents diffusion through the shell making them last much longer and you don't have to refrigerate them. There will probably be salmonella on the shells, but if you store them dry it can't grow.

Americans wash their eggs to make sure there is next to no salmonella on the shells. This destroys the layer and the eggs will spoil after a month.

As for bread, I freeze it if I leave town for a few days and still have some left. Just put the frozen slices in a toaster and they are good. But normally you will go to the bakery at the corner and get fresh bread for one or two days.
