All jokes aside, there is no way the UK is a socialist country. Social housing and the NHS are being dismantled by the current government and higher education is also being made less accessible to poor people. Also, I have no idea why socialism is such a dirty word in America, in the UK the poorest of the poor have at least some access to medical treatment, wheras in the US you just have to die. Poor people here also have access to housing... it's not great, but it does the job. The vast majority of people here who live in social housing and claim benefits really do need it because of the lack of jobs, I'd take a job over having to claim benefits every time, it's not a life I'd recommend.

Even in the Jewnited States, which by all European accounts has among the least efficient education systems in terms of cost, you can get a Bachelor's degree with little to no debt if you actually work for it. Go to a low end university, work a job while you're going to school. Hell, you could even take online courses if work hours are a problem. The degree might not look as prestigious, but I guarantee you that you can find a job that will accept it.
