Math is literally nothing then learning and reproducing a given set of operations with limited variations until university, then some real problems appear.
It's the same thing as reading a cookbook, except cooking requires a minimum of taste and appreciation.
Those who claim that maths are hard just suffer from extensive personnal bias, or are incapable of gathering their thoughts for more then 10 minutes.
People often associate math with being smart but they're getting something wrong : it's BECAUSE math is easy that the difference between smart people and normal people is made more visible, it's like trying to measure the speed of two cars on a linear road compared to a curvy one.
