Proximity to Motherland. More immigrants > More people > Bigger economy

>much more geographically diverse, resource rich, massive swaths of arable land

US has a bigger population because it can support far more people than Australia. Most of Australia is inhospitable/unusable. The US, on the other hand, is like half of the world's breadbasket.

>comparing independence to our first landing

Uhhhhhh no. If you want a fair comparison, we got independence in 1901. So that's 1901 vs 1776.

Or you could compare dates of first settlement, which would be 1788 vs ~1600.

Learn some fucking history, drop kick.

Part of me wishes New Holland became a real thing in the 1600s. We would have had time to develop a stronger sense of identity by now and wouldn't be such push over cucks for multiculturalism

We would definitely be in a better position if the Dutch had colonised us, and the Dutch language would probably be actually relevant if they had... provided we had a bigger population boom too. The Dutch just made a lot of terrible mistakes, and we suffered because of it -- stuck with shitty Anglo culture.

In fairness, the US gubment pays a lot of farmers NOT to grow anything.
>>
>>53266930
Why?
>>
>>53267035
IIRC they're subsidies to keep agro products at a steady price.
>>
>>53267073
They're not payments not to farm though, they're payments not to continuously farm the same crop and degrade the soil quality. Farmers can grow other crops in those off-years.

That's sort of my point. They made stupid mistakes because they were just interested in being rich, but now look where it's gotten them? Their culture and language are irrelevant in the modern world, and when water levels rise due to climate change, their whole country is going to be swept into the sea, and their culture and language will sink with it. Poor Holland.

>>
>>53267578
Well, a "gun free zone" only means you can't carry guns unless authorised to do so. I listened to a BBC radio programme the other day about them.

The analysis from some professor type somewhere in the South was that the best protection for schools was a gun free zone with a single permanently designated firearms officer who would respond to everything.

The risk of too many guns was people could either not respond ("someone else will do it"), they'll respond inappropriately (shoot another responder), or get shot by the police.

Too many cooks spoil the broth and whatnot.

We're a desert. With that in mind, it's remarkable we've managed to thrive as we have done.

The USA is home to the largest agricultural region in the world; the Midwest; obviously this can sustain a much higher population that the entirety of Australia ever could. America could comfortably reach 1 billion people and not break a sweat, we could barely handle anything above 50 million.

Also; those dates are deceptive. 1776 was the year America declared it's independence from Britain; by then it was already a large and thriving nation. In 1788 Australia had barely been discovered; the extent of the settlement was a few prison camps around Sydney harbour.

There isn't a single foreign company getting a piece of the US Shale boom without employing US workers as their majority workforce. The Americans, like the Arabs or the Iranians or the Europeans or the Russians force companies to hire their people as the majority. The only place they get away with fucking over the local population is here.

The whole genesis of the US Shale boom was fracturing which was pioneered by Halliburton, Baker and SLB. ALL OF THESE COMPANIES HIRE AMERICANS OVER ANY OTHER NATIONALITY.

Being stupid Australians, probably graduates from Universities that fuck their own kind to produce a bunch of manufactured 'genius' graduates at the expense of an entire grade so the teaching staff can keep their jobs because they don't get grants because their work sucks and somehow they have to convince someone upstairs that their job needs to be maintained.

this is the real reason. pic related shows the major trade routes and the american naval fleets location

no other country controls so much trade and has such a naval dominance. since trade occurs through the oceans, and the USA controls most the oceans: it controls a lot of the world economy

That's just O/G companies prior to 2013.

Do you want me to start with ore companies or can you get the fucking point that you are out of your league here?

Go on LinkedIn and check for yourself.

I'm certain that this site will have a problem with me posting names that haven't given their approval.

You just have to search the company name plus Australia. You'll see very quickly that there are a handful of people who graduated from Australian Universities to work for the Australian operating branch.

If you are really interested you could go and look for their press releases which talks about their global workforces that explicitly state how many workers they want to hire here and there.

But, that's too much work for you, I know.

That's not a source.

What is then?

What do I have to do to satisfy you?

Would I be right in assuming you are some scared, insecure kid who actually is very close to this industry that doesn't like what I am writing here?

You're the one sounding like a scared and insecure kid m8

Massively larger population, plus significantly better resource supply. Most of your country is marginally inhabitable, whereas we produce damn near everything.

LinkedIn isn't comprehensive or trustworthy enough to be counted as a source.
He's looking for some kind of index or survey on the issue.
Obviously you can't provide proof if you're basically telling him to go and find it himself.

You are the smartest guy here.

I hope you the best.

LinkedIn is a social networking site. It is not representative of the workforce, as it only represents the people who choose to sign up for it.

I want a breakdown, even just a simple percentage breakdown of national vs. foreign workers. From an authoritative source.

It's your responsibility to provide it, because you're the one making ridiculous claims, which are clearly based on your own (job) insecurities, personal biases, and anecdotes.

In summary: you're (probably) full of shit.

well, that was a bit underwhelming.

Why would they need to give it? It isn't like the government mandates them to actually give numbers based on who is employed in what. LinkedIn in sadly the best indicator and even that is an underestimate of what the real numbers are.

>you're the one making ridiculous claims, which are clearly based on your own (job) insecurities, personal biases, and anecdotes.

I have some experience with your industry. Obviously I'm not still there because if I were I'd be offering every one of you jobs or internships right now.

>i'm full of shit

Find out for yourself then.

Cool, so you don't actually know what you're talking about, you could've just said that to begin with.
