For the love of God and for the Christian people, and our common salvation, from this day forward, as God will give me the knowledge and the power, I will defend my brother Charles with my help in everything

That's the earliest source of a language called French, from 842. The only words I can understand are commun, salvament, en avant, quant, salvarai (sauverai "will save" ?), meon fradre (mon frère "my brother" ?).

13th century epic poem
This is where Castilian stops being weird Latin - Gothic - Celtic mix and begins being modern Castillian, aka "spanish"

esto me an buelto mios enemigos malos.-
e entrando a Burgos oviéronla siniestra.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galician-Portuguese
>It is the common ancestor of modern Portuguese, Galician, Eonavian and Fala varieties. The term "Galician-Portuguese" also designates the subdivision of the modern West Iberian group of Romance languages.
>It is believed that by the year 600, Vulgar Latin was no longer spoken in the Iberian Peninsula. An early form of Galician-Portuguese was already spoken in the Kingdom of the Suebi and by the year 800 Galician-Portuguese had already become the vernacular of the north-west of Iberia. The first known phonetic changes in Vulgar Latin which began the evolution to Galician-Portuguese took place during the rule of the Germanic groups, the Suebi (411–585) and Visigoths (585–711). And the Galician-Portuguese "inflected infinitive" (or "personal infinitive")[7] and the nasal vowels may have evolved under the influence of local Celtic languages (as in Old French). The nasal vowels would thus be a phonologic characteristic of the Vulgar Latin spoken in Roman Gallaecia, but they are only attested in writing after the 6th and 7th centuries.
Gallaecian and Lusitanian influences were absorbed into the local Vulgar Latin dialect, and this can be detected in some Galician-Portuguese words as well as in place-names of Celtic and Iberian origin (e.g. Bolso).[4] In general, the more cultivated variety of Latin spoken by the Hispano-Roman elites in Roman Hispania had a peculiar regional accent, referred to as Hispano ore and agrestius pronuntians.[5] The more cultivated variety of Latin coexisted with the popular variety. It is assumed that the Pre-Roman languages spoken by the native people, each used in a different region of Roman Hispania, contributed to the development of several different dialects of Vulgar Latin and that these diverged increasingly over time, eventually evolving into the early Romance Languages of the Iberia.

Oops, forgot the translation, here it is.
He turned and looked upon them, and he wept very sore
As he saw the yawning gateway and the hasps wrenched off the door,
And the pegs whereon no mantle nor coat of vair there hung.
There perched no moulting goshawk, and there no falcon swung.
My lord the Cid sighed deeply such grief was in his heart
And he spake well and wisely: "Oh Thou, in Heaven that art
Our Father and our Master, now I give thanks to Thee.
Of their wickedness my foemen have done this thing to me."

II Then they shook out the bridle rein further to ride afar.
They had the crow on their right hand as they issued from Bivar;
And as they entered Burgos upon their left it sped.
And the Cid shrugged his shoulders, and the Cid shook his head:
"Good tidings Alvar Fanez We are banished from our weal,
But on a day with honor shall we come unto Castile."

III Roy Diaz entered Burgos with sixty pennons strong,
And forth to look upon him did the men and women throng.
And with their wives the townsmen at the windows stood hard by,
And they wept in lamentation, their grief was risen so high.
As with one mouth, together they spake with one accord:
"God, what a noble vassal, an he had a worthy lord.

IV Fain had they made him welcome, but none dared do the thing
For fear of Don Alfonso, and the fury of the King.
His mandate unto Burgos came ere tile evening fell.
With utmost care they brought it, and it was sealed well
'That no man to Roy Diaz give shelter now, take heed
And if one give him shelter, let him know in very deed

He shall lose his whole possession, nay! the eyes within his head
Nor shall his soul and body be found in better stead.'

Great sorrow had the Christians, and from his face they hid.
Was none dared aught to utter unto my lord the Cid.

This is Old Tupi, and it was the most spoken language in Brazil for a long time, from before the Portuguese came until the 18th century. Not only natives used it btw, all immigrants and white settlers learnt it and spoke it in everyday life, and basically never spoke Portuguese.
Then a retarded portuguese king decided to ban it and make Portuguese Brazil's official language to strengthen our ties to them or something. We have been linguistically cuked by the portuguese.

Cuando el manto de la noche
se extiende sobre la tierra,
del más oloroso vino
brindo una copa a mi bella.
Como talabarte cae
sobre mí su cabellera,
y como el guerrero toma
la limpia espada en la diestra,
enlazo yo su garganta,
que a la del cisne asemeja.
Pero al ver que ya reclina,
fatigada, la cabeza,
suavemente separo
el brazo con que me estrecha,
y pongo sobre mi pecho
su sien, para que allí duerma.
¡Ay! El corazón dichoso
me late con mucha fuerza.
¡Cuán intranquila almohada!
No podrá dormir en ella

According to one theory, Germanic peoples first applied this name to the ancient Veneti, and then after the migration period they transferred it to their new neighbours, the Slavs (see Relation between Veneti and Slavs for further details).

Ot Gostyaty kъ Vasil'vi. Jezhe mi otьcь dajalъ i rodi sъdayali, a to za nimъ. A nyne, vodya novuyu zhenou, a mъne ne vъdast nich. To zhe, izbivъ rouky, poustilъ zhe mya, a inuju poyalъ. Dojedi, dobrie sъtvorya.

From Gostyata to Vasil. What my father has given for me and what the relatives have given, he(husband) has. And now, after he married a new wife, he gives me nothing. So he hit my hands, drove me away and married another one. Do me a favour, come here.

It's funny how similar Finnish from 1500s is to today's. For example this text from the bible:

...is almost totally understandable and most of the words are same today.

There is nothing wrong in sharing our language with Serbs. It's a beautiful language with endless possibilities. The only reason we started purifying it was because it was full of Turkish loanwords and Serbs not being able to play along. That is, view it like Croats did, as shared heritage. Me, me, my, mine, myself. Croats were the very first pan-Slavist fatalists, pan-Illyrians or whatever you want. It served us well, didn't it?

Finland, stop appropriating Karelian culture
>>
>>53280248
that makes is fake anyway because it doesn't include the finnish tribe empire that ruled over all of siberia, karelia and modern finland.

The character of Väinämöinen is relevant in all baltic finnic mythology, from the Livs to the Savonians

This is the oldest written baltic finnic text. It includes familiar words, but there is controversy over what it actually means; it is agreed however that it is some sort of spell for arrows

Tra le gambe pendevan le minugia;

dicendo: «Or vedi com’io mi dilacco!

vedi come storpiato è Maometto!
Dinanzi a me sen va piangendo Alì,

quand’avem volta la dolente strada;
però che le ferite son richiuse
prima ch’altri dinanzi li rivada

Translation:

I know that I hung
upon a windy tree
for nine whole nights,
wounded with a spear
and given to Odin,
myself to myself for me;
on that tree
I knew nothing
of what kind of roots it came from.

Gonzalo de Berçeo, early 13th century. Surprisingly close to modern Spanish:

Translation into modern English would be something like:

The Jews revolted in Easter day,
Thirty thousand died there since they killed each other,
The remains of which, whereever they escaped to,
Were slaughtered by Roman princes.

Titus and Vespasian fought them bravely,
Eleven times a hundred thousand Jews who died.
Do not grieve for their deaths because they deserved it!
It is lucky for us that they lost so much there.

> that feel when Europe got sucked into the p.c. maelstrom centuries later

Ist zwîvel herzen nâchgebûr,
daz muoz der sêle werden sûr.
gesmæhet unde gezieret
ist, swâ sich parrieret
unverzaget mannes muot,
als agelstern varwe tuot.
der mac dennoch wesen geil:
wand an im sint beidiu teil,
des himels und der helle.
der unstæte geselle
hât die swarzen varwe gar,
und wirt och nâch der vinster var:
sô habet sich an die blanken
der mit stæten gedanken.

If unfaith in the heart find dwelling,
then the soul it shall reap but woe;
And shaming alike and honour
are his who such doubt shall show,
For it standeth in evil contrast
with a true man's dauntless might,
As one seeth the magpie's plumage,
which at one while is black and white.
And yet he may win to blessing;
since I wot well that in his heart,
Hell's darkness, and light of Heaven,
alike have their lot and part
But he who is false and unsteadfast,
he is black as the darkest night,
And the soul that hath never wavered
stainless its hue and white.
