>There are literally meme-tier majors of the humanities/social sciences on this board RIGHT NOW
Is this looked down upon in your country's culture too?
>history
>foreign languages
>philosophy (topkek)
Don't do this
Reminder that nearly all politicians have a social science/humanities degree.
>muh STEM mustardrace
>going to Jewniversity for anything
Embarrassing
>>53224050
>post yfw you won't get a job with your major
>>53224094
>Brits are so cocky they deny themselves a quality education and a good job
>>53224145
He probably dropped out and is trying to justify it to the broken man he is
>falling for the STEM meme
Don't get me wrong, there is legitimately a huge need for a lot of STEM work, but it's overhyped a bit by corporations who want to flood the labor market to reduce wages.
Why does there need to be so much hate between different fields anyways? Why can't we all just contribute what we can and appreciate what others contribute?
>>53224205
Thing is, somebody majoring in history or a language is not contributing
>>53224145
Enjoy getting cucked for a piece of paper, retard.
Why is going to school for foreign languages such a bad thing?
>>53224327
It's not a bad thing, but if you're taking it as your primary major I'd say it's a bad idea.
>>53224268
If they gain employment, they contributing something to someone.
>>53224456
Can you describe what you see on this pic?
>>53223960
if your degree isn't STEM, law, medicine or such, your degree is worthless
>>53224502
That doesn't mean those careers are worthless, just that sometimes there is a surplus in the labor market for them. Which will probably be true of STEM sooner or later with all the H1B visas and stuff.
>>53224599
Hey, you need a few of them, we're not going to ask a physics Ph.D to fill in the tax forms, right?
>>53224650
That's a big if lad, that's a big if.
AI will be doing all engeenering stuff in the near future, so it is possible that your STEM degree will be worthless
>>53224688
I'm not saying law is useless, just like plumbers aren't useless.
But, at least here in my cunt, law has lost all of its prestige, unless you're literally in the highest echelon (corporate law or whatever)
>>53224569
Nice to see the caretakers of continental philosophy are still treating it with the respect it deserves
>>53224050
yes, from oxbridge, ivy leagues or equivalents
your 2:1 in sociology from the former polytechnic of south-west Birmingham isn't worth shit
>mfw breezing through university without almost any effort
>mfw stemcucks will never enjoy their best years
bruh a political science degree gets all the chicks
>>53224703
>there are people ITT who didn't go into academia after finishing their STEM degree
>>53225502
>75% of my degree are females
>tfw supernova-tier autism
m-maybe next year, right?
>majoring in forestry
I'm not fucked, right?
>>53225882
I'm not autistic, just shy, but iktf, anon.
>>53225923
Be prepared to have a job, cuck.
I'm studying shit-tier accounting. Should have studied harder and apply for medicine.
>>53224145
>defending the paper jew
Good goy.
society is collapsing you're better off joining the military
I will study law, hope there will be something for me out there
>tfw took up a craft
>majoring
What the fuck does that even mean
I always see Americans saying that
>>53226239
What you get a degree in in college.
>>53226239
You mean anyone who studies in a university saying that.
It means that you study more credits in that specific subject and then you could minor in some other subject.
>>53223960
>tfw engineer
>>53224050
>his country's prime minister doesn't have a masters degree in engineering
kek
>>53224050
That's why politicians are shit everywhere. They are granted power without an actual education.
If your degree had more than 10% females I've got some bad news for you.
>>53226685
>>53226759
>my studying of numbers is superior to your studying of words because of reasons
>>53226759
Of course. Having doctors in charge of healthcare or those involved in finance to handle budgets and taxes would be far too logical.
>>53227016
You're forgetting that politics is mostly about manipulation, not number-crunching.
>>53227016
most of the politicians in USSR had some sort of engineering background too. worked out swell for them
>>53224569
>My finance degree is worthless
>>53227016
ministers don't make technical decisions you nonce, their primary purpose is to regurgitate what their department tells them in language that plebs and other ministers can understand, you don't need a technical background to do that, just a basic understanding.
>>53227343
if you're not on 6 figures a few years after graduating then it is
>>53227438
>Expecting a 6 digit salary your first couple years of working
Prepare to have your dreams crushed once you graduate, dipshit.
>>53227642
>implying hes even out of high school
>implying i said i was expecting a 6 digit salary
>implying i wasn't implying that your finance degree is worthless unless you got it from an ivy league and are planning to work in banking
i'm not the one whose going to have their dreams crushed here

I feel for this meme and completely fucked my life. Never completed high school with fear if going unemployed.
Moved to film arts and got stuck due to huge financial restrain (unemployment)
Just fuck my shit up
