What is your country's "public service broadcaster", /int/?
In Canada, we have the CBC.
France Télévision, that is divided into several subchannels
France 2: main channel for national news and big audience stuff
France 3: secondary channel for lesser stuff and local news, each regions have their own studios for local emmissions, reportages, news, etc...
France 4: for minor stuff people are not really interested in, like documentaries about animals, kids programs & cartoons, food programs, minor sport stuff that has not being licenced by private broadcasters...
France 5: same as France 5 but with more serious stuff like cultural programs, political interviews, debates about stuff that happen
France O: channel aimed at our various colo... herr... oversea departments and territories
They also partly own Arte, a Franco-German full cultural broadcaster, and TV5 Monde, that is basically the French broadcaster for expats.
