What is it like living in a country where you're not even allowed to have your own opinion on things? Unless you want to be kidnapped and reeducated.

Think about this scenario: You're a professor at a Chinese university but you're basically only allowed to teach and say what the government wants you to. How stifling would that be?

What's the fucking point in doing anything but making money and trying to make friends in high places. This is why Chinese people are fucking soulless because everything they do has to be approved by their Communist government.

Thank God I'm American.

And every European on this board will suck Chinese and Russian cock because they feel so """""oppressed"""" by America. They are like teenage girls rebelling against Daddy and dating the gangster men who will just take their virginity and leave them.
>>

Bingo. Their pro-Chinese stance is just to spite America. How fucking petty is that.
>>
>>53170710
This simply isn't true. They can't comment on some things critical of the government, but any other opinion is fine.

Not that different from a bio professor trying to teach evolution in the bible belt I would imagine.

Hey dipshit, a Hong Kong bookseller got kidnapped because he was gonna leak something juicy about Xi Jinping's love life. What the fuck do you call that?

It has its ups and downs.

At least you don't get shunned by the entire community if you speak up again immigrants or politically incorrect "issues". Basically what >>53171131 said

You can lead a comfortable and safe life if you live in the richer areas.

And you don't get shot.

I've lived in many countries including the US for 8 years (I'm Brit). China is so far the best country I've ever been. I get treated like royalty there.

Like it's any more free in the perfidious Anglo countries.

>It’s strange that such a chauvinist monster like me has been asked to speak to women scientists. Let me tell you about my trouble with girls. Three things happen when they are in the lab: you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticize them they cry. Perhaps we should make separate labs for boys and girls? Now seriously, I’m impressed by the economic development of Korea. And women scientists played, without doubt, an important role in it. Science needs women and you should do science despite all the obstacles, and despite monsters like me.

You can joke about yourself after a career of helping women get into science and then your career is over and feminists try to take away your Nobel prize.

No different from having your entire life dictated by capitalist processes, I'd say.

What the fuck is your opinion. I want some more burgers with those fries.

It is better than living in a country that enforces categorical dumbing down of its citizens.
