why do germanic people love beer so much?
>>
Beer is man's drink
Wine's for sissy-bois
Vodka's for Orcs
>>
gotta wash down that rape with something
>>
>>53150838
bud light isn't beer, bud
>>
>>53151123
>bud light
Is that what you Latvian folks drink, or what?
>>
>>53150838
Never understood this meme. Wine has by far more alcohol while I can drink beer like it was water.
>>
Only 16 year old kids don't like the taste of beer. Hop house, hoegaarden, smithwicks, and that one Czech beer I had that one time taste so damn nice. How could someone not enjoy a crisp cold beer on a hot summer day? I don't understand non germanics
>>
>>53150761
They can't afford anything stronger and are too stupid to know distillation
>>
>>53150838
there is nothing wrong with wine
>>
>>53150761
They need to build up piss for their fetish porn.

Spirits are a true man's drink.

Anything less is for mongrels.

Gibes me a headache for some reason

Only drink true Pissweiser
>>
>>53151277
beer is heavier and will make you vomit quicker than wine
>>
>>53151285
>How could someone not enjoy a crisp cold beer on a hot summer day?
probably b/c alcohol is terrible for quenching one's thirst.
>>
Because wine tastes like sweetened vinegar and makes me sick if I drink too much. Were all those medieval poets and kings showing off their strong stomachs as well as their big wallets by drinking (usually) imported wine?
>>
>>53151285
Beer has a bitter taste. I don't understand why people are willing to drink that bitter liquid.
>>
>>53151513
wine in the middle ages was different, they usually mixed it with water to make it less potent
>>
>>53151345
I love rakia. Tesla Blass Serbia for creating such a beautiful drink. It's like drinking gods semen.

I'd say we slightly prefer wine at least regionally
>>
In contrast to the Mediterranean who enjoys one or two glasses of the more alcoholic wine with a meal and doesn't drink at any other time, the North-western European will engage in long lasting celebrations and consume a large amount of beer. Beer being less alcoholic, can be consumed in much more of a bulk quantity and so the festivities can continue longer.
>>
it sounds like Russians without any alcohol.

>>
>>53151424
I've never vomited because of the alcohol desu, well, actually I only remember vomiting twice in my life.
>>
>>53151568
We counter that by mixing the wine with sparkling water, "Saurer" (white wine + sprakling water) is by far the most common pub drink around here
>>
>>53151527
It's bitter but you begin to appreciate the taste after a while. Maybe you're drinking too much lager or hoppy beer? Try a stout or an ale. Stout tastes like molasses.

>Beer less alcoholic than wine
Do the gods speak true? What's the alcoholic % comparison?
>>
because beer is goat
>>
>>53151682
wine is usually above 10 ‰ while beer is below it

Its the nectar of the gods
>>
>>53151661
Interesting. What part of Germany are you from? Is this common around all of germany
>>53151682
Are you fucking 12 or stupid? Beer is usually 4-5% where as wine is anywhere from 11-14%
>>
>>53151682
what?
>>
>>53151635
We've been drinking that shit for millennia though (we're one of the very few places left in Yurop where endangered Vitis vinifera sylvestris is still growing natively), if at all we've been cucked into beer by invading Germanics in the 5th century
>>
>>53151682
Beer = 4 - 5%
Wine = 11 - 12%
>>
>>53151682
wine is anything from 10%-20%

bee is 4%-10%
>>
>>53151527
16 year old detected. It's an acquired taste, son.

In all seriousness, I've liked the taste of beer ever since I had my first one. Probably helps that most of my family consists of borderline alcoholics but I can't be alone in this, right?
>>
>>53151763
South-Western part, left side Upper Rhine. About 30% of our whole area is covered in vineyards
>>
>>53151682
you didn't know this? Beer is between 4-7 abv and wine is often 12-15%. Why do you think basic bitches like to drink wine?
>>
>>53151568
northerners are pussies, we have many wine festivals
>>
>>53151682
Cheap pub table wine used for mixing with water like Müller-Thurgau is around 11%, heavier ones like Grauburgunder (Pinto gris) may reach 15% in good years
>>
>>53151803
I've also liked it from the first taste, can't stand red wine though.
>>
>>53151898
>>53151803
Same here, had my first 0.5L beer when I was on holiday in Turkey back when I was eleven, it was around 42°C so it hammered me a lot

>>53151439
you don't seem to understand how beer drinking works, which is forgivable since you're american.

>hot day
>thirsty
>get a beer and drink it in under a minute
>still thirsty, open another and drink that more slowly
>continuously have to drink as your thirst will never be 'quenched'
>as you get more and more pissed your thirst becomes irrelevant
>eventually you're wasted and no longer thirsty
>>
I'm 36 and after about ten years of liking both equally, I'm starting to prefer wine.

Also the beer in German speaking nations is completely overrated. IMO Belgium, Czech Republic and England all make it better.
>>
>>53151898
Yeah red wine definitely was an acquired taste for me, took me a couple tries to really appreciate it. White wine I've never had problems with but even though I'm a faggot that's still a tad gay for me.

Except that isn't true Budweiser, it's American swill.

THIS is true Budweiser you ignorant Americuck.

It may be but you don't speak German and nor do you have our "brewing tradition" of making hideous gassy lager and selling it to tourists.

>day after

>>53152096
Germany has great pilsner, but if I'm looking for something with a little more taste to it Belgian and English beers are GOAT. Can't say anything about Czech Republic, any recommendations? Preferably something I can buy at my local liquor store.
>>
>>53152096
>>53152310
>>53152429

Englishman here and I'm not a fan of English ale.

I much prefer German / Czech beer.
>>
>>53152278
I think that's why he called it "Pissweiser" lad.

Take a deep breath.
>>
>>53152429
we drink it at like 7°C

>>53152467
it's good, but Belgian is best, American is pretty good as well
>>
>>53152467
It's all a matter of taste desu. Red wine for example "has" to be served at room temperature too, but I pretty much prefer it cooled (5°C-ish), fuck those stupid conventions
>>
Going to Australia soon, give me list of drinks I must taste
>>
>>53152429
It's neither of those things.

I lived in the UK for two years and it was simply better. Sat better, tasted nicer, cleaner, lighter hangovers and more variation. Most of the people I was with or had over agreed.

KEK
>>
>>53152096
I'd add some American craft beer also. Memes aside, they do nice beer
>>
>>53152597
Be prepared to go bankrupt, apparently alcohol prices are even much higher there than in Scandinavia
For comparison a crate (20x0.5l) of premium beer is around €14 here, cheap stuff like Oettinger €7, and a litre of wine, well it's just the production cost of €0.50/l for me (winegrowers in family)
>>53152659
Isn't it very bitter if served at (comparatively) high temps and without CO2?
>>
>>53152799
I know I'm not going to get wasted there but I just want to taste something
>>
>>53151865
>Calls northerners pussies
>posts picture of Spaniards cosplaying as said 'pussies'
>>
>>53152799
No. The only thing I can compare it to is dark chocolate, red meat, that sort of thing. It's rich and viscous.

It's also quite rare to get it at room temperature. They cool it, they don't refrigerate it. Sort of like a pantry.
>>
I like rum.
