I understand everywhere there will always be work in a shop, delievering mail etc. But is there a demand for anything in particular? Teachers, engineers? Is there a jewellery industry at all?

I guess forestry is a thing but it's a much larger industry in Sweden and Finland.

Actually best guess for good employment in Norway that isn't banana-peeling tier is in the fishing industry, either as a fisherman or as factory worker.

Oil is an unstable market, as prices constantly drop and rise, and with it jobs come and go. I'd say fishing is a safe bet, although in the larger cities anything goes when it comes to regular work. A britbong can easily get a job in a pub, or whatever else he might desire. I wouldn't say it's hard to work as whatever you'd like in Norway, as long as you have some experience and basic language skills. Education of course also helps.
