We're as federal as it gets though, every state/region gets to protect its local culture (unlike France for example) and yeah Bavarians are the most similar people to you, yet on their western and northern fringes they share close similarities to their neighbouring regions outside Bavaria - sooo I think in the end we could fiy things with a little anschluss, so that every German people/"tribe" is well represented

Haplogroups are not measures of genes in a population. They take the furthest back male on your paternal side and find out what haplogroup they had. If a person has a Germanic father and slavic mother, they will have a Germanic haplogroup. The UK has been invaded a lot and Ireland hasn't. Irish people worked the shit land, you fuckwit. The reason they only grew spuds was because it was the only high yield crop that would grow in such shit conditions. Most of the tillage, cattle etc. were owned by English landlords who were hardly ever in Ireland. Ireland was a breadbasket, even during the famine. The reason family farms were small was because of a law that made it mandatory for Catholics to divide land equally between the sons, creating tiny unworkable farms, most were also rented from landlords who evicted the Irish as soon as the blight arrived. The land wasn't legally obtained by these landlords, it was stolen, mostly during the cromwellian invasion. Ireland wasn't lacking manpower, the population was 8.5 million compared to 6.2 million today (It dropped to 3.5 in the years following the famine and still hasn't recovered) It would have been easy to stop the famine. The potato crop failed before the act of union and famine was avoided by halting exports, but the union meant irish landowners were always in london and were oblivious or apathetic to the famine. And welfare existed, but with ridiculous conditions. You were forced to do conert to protestantism or to do hard labour to get anything. My area is litterd with piles of stones called "follies" and pointless walls running up the side of mountains that the irish were forced to build, usually by homeless and starving people with families.

you are both idiots. First of all, the landlords weren't English. They were mostly Irish. Catholics have simply managed to convince everybody that Catholic = Irish and Protestant = English, which is nowhere close to true. Plenty of Irish noble families saw which way the wind was blowing and converted to Protestantism (the Guinnesses, for example), while a great many of the powerful Catholic families in Ireland were either descended from the Anglo-Norman lords who'd been there since the middle ages or Catholic English lords who'd been forced out of England during the reformation. Also, the restrictions on Catholic land ownership had been repealed 50 years before the great famine, so land ownership wasn't overwhelmingly protestant any more anyway. I don't have the figures from the 1840s or 50s, but by the 1870s land ownership was split more or less 45%-45% between Anglicans and Catholics (the other 10% miscellaneous denominations), so clearly the idea that 19th century Ireland was owned by absentee English landlords is a complete myth crafted so that Irish nationalists could maintain a sense of solidarity by focusing hatred on the English and disguise the fact that in many cases the Irish were being shafted by their own people.

A mixture of well meaning incompetence and ideological bias (ironically not against the poor, but for them) made the government's response less effective than it could have been. Firstly, contrary to the idea that the government was inherently biased in favour of landlords, the consensus was that they were largely responsible for the crisis and should be forced to pay for it. Unfortunately the landlords reacted to this by evicting tenants so they would have fewer to support. And while the politics of 19th century protectionism is complex and tedious, the short version is that non-government interference in the grain markets was the position of those who were pro-poor people. It was this ideological bias that stopped the government from intervening to stop grain exports.
