Any Finns here? I need your advice.
I live in Russia, in Murmansk. My relatives live in Germany. This July I'm going to visit them. THE THING IS, I plan to go there by car, through Finland, Sweden and Denmark. I got the finnish visa . But I've heard, that finnish border guards don't like russian tourists, who travel to Europe through their country. And they can even forbid the tourist to enter Finland and cancel his finnish visa, if the tourist says at border control, that he is GOING THROUGH FINLAND.
So, dear Finns, give me a piece of advice: what to tell to the border control service? The truth - that Finland isn't the country of my destination, or try to conceal the truth?
>And they can even forbid the tourist to enter Finland and cancel his finnish visa, if the tourist says at border control, that he is GOING THROUGH FINLAND.
That sounds ridiculous
But I've read quite a lot of stories telling about tourists who weren't permitted to enter Finland just because border guards found, for example, boarding cards (not sure if I'm correct with this word) to a plane from Helsinki to Berlin.
Good luck surviving in the northern caliphate..
go trough belarus and poland stronk russian man :33
Dear Finns, can you search at your local web sites, or government sites to help me? I can't rely on anyone, but You. I'll bump this tread as long as I can.
If this kind of law existed we would be aware of it.
The border guard is not permitted to treat people differently unless the traveller had contrabands (which travelling tickets are not)
1) I'm really eager for visiting Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
2) Extremly poor condirion of roads in Karelia
3) Don't want to go to baltica
4) Belarus-Poland border is long to pass. I mean, there are queues longer than at Russian-Finnish border ("Lotta" border checkpoint)
A friend of mine passed through bolan. Due to some circumstances he was forced to sleep in a railway station. He was woken up by riot police forcing gypsys and shouting WAKE UP KURWAS, so the guy gets up and an officer says PAN CAN SLEEP.
I don't think there should be any problems, as long as your papers(and car) are in good condition. You might try calling them and asking, or sending a email.
Roads are shit in Karelia region, and especially shit during summer-time.
I think you might be right about this.
The thing is, they are trying to stop the people who lie about coming to one EU country and then going to another. I bet that if you have an visa to your true destination too there will be no problems. But what you really need to do is just ask. If you are honest they will advise you in finnish embassy or where ever it is you got your visa from. If you are afraid that they will take away the visa you already have, make your friend ask for you.
We don't call Spurdo Spudre actually. Are you offending our gloriuos culture?
???? ?? ?? ???????????? ??????? ??????, ???? ??? ????? ????? ????????? ?????????
And if I DON'T LIE? If at border control, when Finnish border guard asks me "Where are you heading to? For how long?", I actually tell him my true intentions, that their country is just a transit point on my route?
if you lie and they find out you've been lying they can prevent you from entering the country.
If you don't lie and everything's in order they will let you in. It's as simple as that
??????,?? ???? ??????? ?????????. ? ? ???-?? ???? ????? ?????????? ?????? ?? ???? ???????.
Yep, I know that I'm a bit slow-witted.
And what about the rule, that if I enter with Finnish visa, I have to spend more time in Finland? Or such rule doesn't exist?
You do realize that you're driving from a corrupted shithole to a democratic first world country? If you have any trouble during your entire journey, the most likely you will have problems during your drive inside Russia.
Pipsa is a good example of a hypocrite.
Bet your ass she had laughed to every other Arman's tweet where he made fun of something that might not be insulting to her. "OMG Arman is SOOOO Funneh..!!--" But all it takes is one overly generalized tweet against womyn and Pipsa has had enough of this shit and she's not afraid to tell it! You go gurl!
Dude you need a visa for your primary destination.
So the finnish visa is kind of not needed really.
Just get a visa for germany if that is where you are going to stay the most of the time, This also explains the trouble other russians have had. This is true with all the schengen countries.
he do pretty good tweets.
i don't even know why i have these pictures...
Here is a list of places you can get a german visa from. I have no idea if there is something closer to you than st petersburger http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/sid_2AC5424EAD160EAF08BEA1EAE4B28C88/EN/Laenderinformationen/01-Laender/DeutscheAVen/RussischeFoederation/DeutscheVertretungen_node.html
Rus-bro I have googled the finnish internet tubes and none of your worries have ever been discussed on the web. There is nothing stopping you from going through Finland.
Have a nice vacation!
Quotation from Wikitravel:
" If there is no clear main destination and the purpose of your trip is the same everywhere, that is you will spend almost exactly the same amount of time in each member state then you should lodge your application at the application centre of the member state where you intend to first arrive at. For example you will enter through France and spend three days there, then three days each in Denmark and finally Switzerland all for a holiday; you must go to the French consulate/embassy for the visa."
OK, dear comrades, to sum up:
At the Finnish border control I
a) Tell that I'm intending to spend two or three days travelling around Finland, and then going through Sweden and Denmark to Germany;
b) Tell that I'm travelling to Germany through their country, Sweden and Denmark.
I incline to the second variant, according to the
Being honest about what you're doing goes a long way. Remember that stun guns and pepper spray and other stuff you use to fight stray dogs isn't allowed to be brought across the border.
I've traveled trough Lotta with my wife and her parents from Murmansk a few times. Don't worry. I think you don't understand the schengen agreement.
There is a Norwegian and Finnish consulate in Murmansk.
It's even possible that they won't ask you anything at all at the border.
I've traveled trough kirkenes and lotta a lot, and the only ones that ever stopped me was the norwegians.
Dude just be honest about what you do.
Finns brand liars for life and you might get banned for a long time if you lie about your trip.
Finding the loopholes is a totally different matter. If you really spend the most time on your trip in finland you are set to go.
Understand that this is not about finnish rules, they are the same everywhere in the schengen area.
