I have decided to stop being an arrogant piece of shit. I know my art isn't the best but I took advice and it got me where I am. I have taken another peak in my skill where I am trying to learn more again and make my stuff look better, but I really need help with pointers. This is a couple months old but I feel like it represents what I am capable of right now. I know proportions are not satisfactory for everyone but it is recognizable, in other words I may have developed a style for myself. I'm still trying to learn how to make beautiful yet simple hair. Right now I feel like I am doing the illusion of fabric-like hair. And fingers still frustrate me no matter how many tutorials I have looked at and tried. They just don't match my drawing procedure so I gotta figure out what works for me.
When it comes to anti-aliasing, I have experimented with levels and methods. I actually like the aliased look when I work digitally. I like having the low-res look. It has also helped me do some rom hacking on old games just so I can get my hand into programming.
ayy our favorite fuck boy is back, stop worrying about style and draw from life. Treat hair like you would normally treat form study basic forms and learn how to apply these forms in perspective.
Find perspective made easy from ernest norling from the resources thread i'm sure its there somewhere in the archives.
While you're drawing a lot the fact is she's your character and you won't improve just drawing her if you don't take the principals of art you can learn elsewhere into account when doing so. You gotta leave your comfort zone brah; I'm struggling with that myself.
Trust me, I have taken that advice, I never post my pictures from life on the internet because it's drawn in the nightmare of a sketchbook with charcoal that I'd never shove into my scanner. Plus lots of it is just unsatisfactory and I don't want to post it.
It looks like it comes out of ms paint. It's not smooth enough to look like a polished drawing, it's not blocky enough to look like pixel art. It just looks messy.
I used gimp which is much more capable. I am still trying to figure out how to resize an image to take the heavy pixel aliasing out, while not making it look nasty. The plugins for that program are a mess to find. Until I figure out how to get rid of the aliasing the best bet for me would just to leave it messy instead of what I initially pictured.
you... can't even keep the lines defining the soles of the shoes parallel...
Are the thumbs supposed to be vastly different sizes or is she supposed to have one monster, one noodle thumb?
>I'm still trying to learn how to make beautiful yet simple hair
What hair do you know has bangs that look like stiff, evenly spaced isosceles triangles and are considered either simple or beautiful?
I'm not taking about her hair being simple yet beautiful. I am not going to change something on her that I don't have down yet. If you notice, I have given her a figure because I taught myself that and added it to her. In a way, whenever I get better at something I just add it to her as a puzzle. A meter of where I am at with my drawing ability when it comes to cartooning.
No the waves are due to an unsteady hand and an artist unwilling to try until they make the correct stroke, not purposeful perspective. Even if that wasnt the case, it wouldn't account for the random waves in the sole's thickness.
I am not trying to make excuses but I don't have a drawing tablet and my trackpad on my laptop doesn't run at the correct ppi in GIMP sometimes. It's not wavy in my sketch. I just need to get better at digitally drawing. I also got super impatient because I already drew and redrew the feet about 10 times correcting lines over and over.
Lol that doesn't effect the fact that you can't draw parallel lines.
i would recommend to get a drawing tablet, stay away from small ones, and mischief and do a lot of gesture drawing and iterative drawing
hahaha, I like your style man, I honestly hope you get better; but you're going to have to practice a lot and not just draw your characters. Just keep them close to your heart while you draw other stuff.
This was for a lesson I was giving someone on drawing breasts. I was showing what happens when they are at different sizes. I just like how the whole sketch turned out.
Here is a high test alpha female from an interesting perspective get to work faggot.
I found some of the stuff, and it makes me hard.. espcially this one dude you should draw a naked version. Cmon do it please!! sexy stuff!
You have a nice style I hope to see some of your work later on, if you keep working your ass off that is, but stretch out a bit it hinders your ability to do other things, think of it like sitting down at a computer with bad posture and you never stretch or anything it makes it harder later on to get back to at least a normal looking posture, what I am saying in conclusion is be "FLEXIBLE" while you can be I am not a good artist by any means.. (not being a humble little shit)
I know you can do it cuz you got some hot stuff going. like yes look, just uncensor her tits for me! yumyumyum
I found more good stuff loooook!! HOT
>Can't make your own opinion
>Relies on others to form an opinion
How mentally incapable are you in doing that?
Last year we had someone that got lost on their way to DA and wound up here or someone referred this innocent soul to this place and so OP posted his OC on a thread he made, /ic/ gives critique, OP replies muh style, feelings got hurt, shitstorm ensued.
I'm being chill this time around. I was a dumbass in highschool with his head too far up his ass. Now I have seen the real world. The world isn't about how much better you are than others and thinking that. I realize that my skill sits somewhere in a lower spectrum. I just hope to hone my skills as I get older.
It would be so evil to find a toilet like that and do that. Just imagine the janitor.
--Jim-bob Bob Billy the janitor quit his job on Tuesday afternoon after he vomited on the toilet seat that appeared to be frosted like a cake.
I put my skills to the max and made it better but you shoulddo it to!!! Look, TITS YAYYY!!!!!!
You haven't yet touched on perspective, don't you lie to me. Get your ass in gear, not expecting you to be a master but your latest stuff since you improved are stiff as ever.
Not expecting you to be a master but at least get a good grasp of the concept of 1/2/3 point perspective.
How can you not know what I mean? Go google it. Better yet open a book. Treat all examples as exercises. You could probably spend an hour a week on perspective and improve dramatically.
Here is a pose I just drew using>>2394179
I couldn't go quite as extreme, but I tried. Soon I will be able to do a perspective that damn near looks like you're gonna be looking into the crotch and up between the titties.
Nope, not good enough to show perspective at all. It's got that snap-to symbol drawing effect going on of memorized positions. Is it better than others, marginally so, but not the extent of what months of learning should result in.
Hit the books and understand the concepts of the fundamentals before you get back to it.
I missed you friend
I was the anon that tried to get you to commission porn of evie. Your reaction to it and the following fanart was great. Glad your back though, everyone always comes back, no matter how brutal their first experience is. not to mention comparing you to current shitposters like illustrat means your the sane one
but, here comes the bad news; You have had no progression buddy. The only thing I see progressing in your work is Evie's bust size. You need to take time out to work on mastering realism before doing abstraction or stylization. To put it simply, you need to understand how somthing works before simplifying it to make the artistic process easier. This means doing the nitty gritty work with drawing from life, a lot of gesture and a lot of studies. But if your really in for it, then buckle down and join the beginner thread, its wear most of our artist are and a few people there dispense great help.
Now compare that to the reference image. Your saying that you can't go that extreme, but what you really mean is that you dont want to step out of your comfort zone. Take the time. look at the refrence and break it down into simple shapes in your head before trying to re-create it. Use these shapes to build a foundation and layer up from there. You, like most beginners, need to learn to draw what you see, not what you think you see. take another shot at this, I'm interested in seeing the results
Pushing your limits is what matters most, striving to make each better than the last. But been following your DA for a while and what little activity has resulted in insufficient improvement.
Go draw boxes and cylinders and stuff with the power of perspective, then use those forms for the human body, then be amazed at the new compositions available to you.
Or just keep on making baby steps.
>been following your DA
You niggers actually follow other people?
it certainly isn't. Most normies will give you empty praise, and while empty praise sounds nice, praise from someone you respect is much better. Surrounding yourself with people worse then you makes you better in comparison, but in the end your work needs to stand up for itself. Here's another thing. the only thing you will get here is direction. what to read and watch, ext, ext. Motivation is all you. There is nothing I, or anyone else can say on this planet, that will be able to motivate you more then you can motivate yourself. Draw for you. get better for you, and take in all you can to get better, all the positive and negative feedback
/ic/ is like an older brother. We don't care that much. We will pick on you and call you faggot and show our dominance over you. But we will be honest. And honestly, as you know, your shit now. But we are all varying levels of shit with the same goal, and the only way to get better is to learn and grind. Someday you will get a compliment here, and someday you will get a compliment from an artist many times better then yourself. Just find the motivation in you and try man. You owe that much to yourself
>I am not going to be an anon either.
Lose the namefagging people would recognize you from your drawings anyway unless you want people to shitpost everywhere you go.
