living in the boons makes it fairly difficult to get professional teacher. So I figure the best course of action is to do an online course since they offer the help and guidance of someone who's a professional. I want to know if The Drawing Academy is worth the 300$, Is there better online courses, is it a scam, and your positive/negative experiences with any online course.

I took the Jeff Watts one online for 99 bucks and it had a lot of good information and a shit ton of videos.

In my opinion the only reason to pay for an art teacher is if you got 1 on 1 critique, preferably in person. Also maybe to meet people.

There is more than enough material online to become an amazing artist. YOU are going to be doing all the work regardless.

of course there's more than enough information online but courses offer a better guideline on what a person should be studying and from what i've read they also have teachers you can ask questions when needed and to help you break bad habits you might otherwise overlook without the aide of a teacher. Online courses just seem much better than being self taught and could probably save a person a lot of time. books are also boring as fuck to read.

You could do Drawabox and grab videos from CGPeers or do free vids from proko, ctrlpaint and tenminutedrawingtechniques if you don't wanna spend money. If you need help breaking bad habits lrn2selfcrit and ask for crits from others on here or a forum or group.

Try out DrawABox. It's free, though there is a patreon you can donate to. I'm up to plants and it's a little slow but definitely informative

The only thing DAB doesn't go through is 2d measuring stuff but yeah it gets you drawing, getting down perspective/forms and building your visual library.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
