how does one start a patreon? I have some work but it's not good enough
if you want a patreon. what should you be doing/willing to do?
and also is there anyone of you on patreon now? id like to take a gander
Im pretty salty and jelous of this guy, no lie.
>also is there anyone of you on patreon now?
ask me anything
Not OP but how does Patreon work? Do you have to fulfil what your supporter want and get paid for that? Or can you just do your shit and if people like it, they can support you, like subscribing on twitch?
he's your best bet to get info about earnings, ways to get supporters, etc.
there are people that posts regularly in /ic/ that got patreons, but you'll be surprised to know how much they make compared to christ chan guy.
or you can cross your fingers that someone relevant like akairiot, sakimi, kron or incase come into this thread and gib you some pointers
I know. He literally posts one time like 4 years ago and then he fucked off. People with patreons got a gigantic following and theyre too busy living a normie life. 4chan is too much of a shitpost heaven for them to hang out here and give tips to be successful
he used to post quite a bit in the porn threads actually and he did make a big post giving advice on patreon, back when he still only made like 1000$ a month. Just like with Teal and Tehmeh however, the jellyfags had to drive him away with constant shitposting.
This, I feel you need to have some sort of following before you start up a Patreon. If you don't, you just look desperate and greedy, and having a patreon making less than $15 seems shameful. If anything, it's just drive people away from your work.
it's your fault for not prepping your fans. you need spend months leading up to it by saying times are tough and you're struggling to make ends meet. let it become their idea that you should setup a patreon
Is there even any demand for your work to begin with? If you're not to the point where people are asking for too many commissions for you to handle you'll never make a decent amount of money on Patreon.
With commissions people can at least get exactly what they want, on Patreon they have to love your content enough to just be happy with what you put out in general + some pledge goals.
Are you this guy?
Good stuff man you finally got double the pity pledge after a week. Told you posting on /ic/ is a good idea.
To those who dont know, this guy got $0 in his patreon until he posted it in /ic/ a week ago.
Skill /= yuge patreon
Marketing is more important, if youre a beginner make a patreon now and beg beg beg.
Already good? Make sure you're a legend like ben garrison or mullins then open a patreon.
I still browse /ic/ and post sometimes. I just don't identify myself unless I have a good reason to.
I don't think you can make a lot of money without already having a fanbase. It's a numbers game. If you have 100 fans, and you can get 1% of them to pay you 5$, you get 5$. If you have 10 000, you'll get 500$.
If you are that Nanoless guy, then I have one advice for you: Pick an angle for your patreon. You don't have enough fans/skill to just go "Support me for sketches and WIP's". I suggest some sort of audience participation, or doing porn. Your whole patreon idea is just too bland.
I don't really have much time to get into the details right now, but if anybody has questions about patreon, I can answer them later.
holy cow you make almost 5k from patreon... that's insane man. jelly af. how long have you been in the trenches improving your work and building a fanbase? your work is killer, i'm sure you are aware of that.
what kind of angle you dipshit, you draw porn and holds them back, its that fuckign simple. your angle is just like shindol. youre a fucking jew that dont want to share shit in high demand with others.
we need someone with sfw content, not you, dumb ingrate
7 years this march. I made almost no money for the first 5. But I was shit untill maybe last year.
I think you are confusing me with somebody. I post everything I do for free. Save for some concept design sketches for my webcomic Alfie, but honestly nobody gives a fuck about those anyway.
I started getting more patrons just by writing "this art supported by X generous patrons on Patreon!" after every art post. Nanoless, try that. You probably have watchers who love your art, and you want to CONSTANTLY remind them (without bitching or begging) that they can lend you support and have an indirect hand in creating your artworks. I've never had anyone complain. (I have 1000 watchers and $60/month, very little Patreon-exclusive content).
By doing this, when you draw something good, you will notice pledges come in after you post it. Feels good.
>don't identify myself unless I have a good reason to
We all know you shitpost here and thoroughly enjoy it.
I dont want to be known as a porn artist, i wanna make sfw stuff. porn is super easy to get fans, just look at ero doll, before he quit because of the south korea sharia police he was pushing 2k in pledges
Wat? I have about 85k views and 1600 followers (DA is also the place I have the least followers on, as I can't post porn there) I would never be delusional enough to think I'd succeed on Patreon yet!
I guess I can chime in as someone who is pledging to an artist on Patreon. He's currrently up to $942 for every pin-up or comic page.
The reason why I'm pledging towards him is because he's the only one who really produces the stuff that he does in the style that he does and I have been following his stuff for years and I'm happy to finally be able to support his production.
Why do people ask retarded questions like this? Do you really not know of a single successful artist who doesn't draw porn? Doesn't that answer your question? Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?
sakimi = hyperrealistic stylization, anime INFLUENCES
kron = hyperrealistic stylization, anime INFLUENCES
incase = western based
shadman = western mixed
doxxy = stylized with anime INFLUENCES
unless if you're a real mangaka like Shindol dont go full anime retard like mister 12 dollars
>sakimi = hyperrealistic
>kron = hyperrealistic
You draw so beautifully.
What does everyone think about the different billing cycles? Weekly vs Bi-Weekly vs Monthly vs Per Piece? I've seen each one work well for different artists.
Yeah but don't pretend that originality and artistic interpretation of a subject matter isn't important. It can literally decide whether an audience cares about your piece or not, which ultimately leads to exposure and money, if they care.
Does anyone know if theres a way to separate your real name from Patreon? I haven't had a chance to look into it yet but I have a devout following of less than 1k people for some niche nsfw stuff, but I'm afraid of my name being attached to it...
which don't matter if you never do anything to promote you work. sure, the cream will rise to the top but if all you do is setup a tumblr, upload a couple times a week and never interact with your fans or cross promote on other platforms then good luck gaining any followers.
instead of rolling the dice get out there and work for your work. in IT 85% of your success has nothing to do with your skill and I doubt art is any different
I'd prefer a monthly campaign as to not squeeze my patrons too much. Unless if i make tutorials and is known for it, i'd opt out for a bi monthly. Its too late now though, since porn artists will never get to sakimi tier.
Pretty much it. Networking is not enough, you need to show some originality in your works otherwise people will accuse you of plagiarism.
If you've been in the porn industry long enough you'll succumb to it too. Rich people thirsts for trannies and they're the ones willing to pay you good money for em.
I'm 22 this year. Only my brother knows about it, I've cut off contact with my parents ever since high school.
Geez, I wish I could have been as proficient as you were when I was young! I enjoyed even some of your earlier stuff on hentai-foundry and was really impressed at the rate you managed to draw out piece after piece.
Kron literally re-draws anime screenshots you fucking moron and at least 70% of his rendered work is anime fanart.
>5000 followers on tumblr and 2500 on DA
I feel like I would be better off if I hold off from making a Patreon for the time being. But it's tempting I must admit.
is there anyone here who uses Patreon for nsfw art and has hit any roadbumps with that? i've been researching and found some issues where paypal payments are auto rejected for nsfw accounts, and i'm wondering how much that hurts funding since many people prefer to use paypal over a credit card. also trying to figure out how Sakimichan still appears in searches despite her nsfw content and doesn't appear to have payment issues with paypal (does she not have her account marked nsfw and patreon is letting her get away with it since she makes so much?)
doesn't work if commissions don't fit into your plan tho. personally i hate doing commissions: clients are fussy, you can't charge enough per hour to make any significant amount, you end up with a portfolio of badly designed furry OCs doing real fucked up fetish shit to each other. better to make stuff that you enjoy making and gain a following who are willing to pay less for it than spend time making one specialized thing that you hate doing and only one person will pay a mediocre amount for imo
then set up a patreon and offer a product
incase offers his shit but that guys a legend
he bullshits about being good about a year ago but ive seen his works passed around 4chan in 2012
Do they just like your art, or are they a fanbase? I think that's the big difference in whether a patreon is successful. People actually have to care about you as a person to want to give you money. It's more a cult of personality. You can build that off of just really good work, but it's still the celebrity that draws people in to appreciate it.
You can try it if you want anyways, there's no harm in it. For all I know you have some diehard fanbase of oil shieks.
You got a point there. I suppose I'm 50/50. There are people who are fans I suppose and there are those who are in it for the art. Although I haven't really made the effort to shove myself in front of my art, I always appreciate when artists keep their shit to themselves and let their work speak for itself. So I try to do the same.
I got it. to be successful on patreon you need to be either the following:-
>you create viral works that is passed around on the internet
shadman, ben garrison,
>you draw viral porn
>you are a celebrity, everyone knows who you are
>you create comics and have loads of loyal readers
>you create amazing works of art and sell your tutorials
sakimi, doxxy, kron
Yeah but would you really ever give him any thing? I mean his work is just crap, and I mean that. He thinks people are going to pay for him to make any more? I hope he breaks his hands.
>>you create amazing works of art and sell your tutorials
>sakimi, doxxy, kron
>you create amazing works of art and sell your tutorials
>sakimi, doxxy, kron
my first DA had 1.8 million views and 35k followers. My second has only half that cus I never update it.
I moved to tumblr and have around 10k followers there. I still make shit on patreon.
Which is fine for me anyways/ I actually go out of my way to not get publicity and followers and lame ass shit like that. I just want to paint and share my work. I don't like the idea of charging for work.
But at the same time I need money for for meds and food so yeap
ayy yo you wanna die hungry or you wanna die rich? i aint gonna be that uncle that draws good cos its a hobby of mine i wanna be that uncle that maes 10k a month cos he good at drawing
lol, no. People need money to survive. Period. I live at home with my parents rent-free and I still pay out roughly $600 a month in bills.
Mandatory Health Insurance (Thanks, Obama)
...and if you think that's bad, try being the parents of a real NEET (like I'm guessing yours are) who have to pay for all of that for themselves, plus rent, mortgage, utilities, and so on. You even said it yourself:
>But at the same time I need money for for meds and food so yeap
Wanting to be paid for your art is not being greedy or being a sell out you retarded cunt. Providing art is no different than providing any other paid service including being a doctor. That doctor used his skill to provide you with a diagnoses and a prescription because you couldn't do it yourself, in the same manner an artist might use their skill to provide a client with a custom piece of artwork because they couldn't do it themselves, and both deserve to be paid for their time accordingly.
>using your skills to make a living is selling out
The literal definition of being a professional is having a skill you're compensated for. Unless you think every single professional artist is selling out - in which case who gives a shit what you think - you need to reevaluate your life.
Okay cunts, sell me on the different types of Patreons a person can do.
>Fan art Patreon
I was going to do a fashion illustation patreon. And draw "collections" in sets, and then have the rewards be originals, prints, etc.
ie. An all disney princess inspired collection.
> 12 looks
> pay $30, get two prints
you know. I just need to get motivated and achieve it.
Never seen so much butthurt in my god damn life.
art is more than a simple commodity meant to be bought and sold Just because you have no values and principals doesn't mean everyone is like you. Art is meant for greater things than furfagging.
And that's why I am in the actual position to sell my art while none of you are.
Just think about that for little bit you dumb fucks. People actually care what I create while no one knows who any of yo uare.
Ok, I'll bite
>you create amazing works of art and sell your tutorials
>sakimi, doxxy, kron
sakimi is a fucking joke
so kron copies shit
and sakimi got the hand but not the mind when it comes to art
she cant make oc and when she does it sucks
but some reason she bugati
cant say shit
thats how it is
its a new age homies
Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'audience participation'? I've been tossing some ideas about with that exact theme in mind and can't decide on some solid ideas. I'd like to offer something different but am coming up short.
Not just basically, but literally. She sells porn versions of many of her artworks, and stuff. You know, it's funny, hen I'm not looking at her stuff I always have this aesthetically good image of sakimichan because my imagination interprets her as a famous successful professional artist, and I'd swear people hate her for other reasons, but when I actually go back and look at her stuff I remember she really is pretty fucking awful.
It's also her fans fault, they're just horny people that want to see nips and vagina to the point where they pay for it.
It's sorta like building your skill drawing faces and clothes, but everyone just wants to see naked bodies.
It's oversaturated for fanart illustrators because they are just trying to immitate Kron and Sakimi's success. They don't offer anything other than "hey give me money because I too draw fanart!"
For webcomic artists for example getting support isn't nearly as difficult if you have a fanbase, because your fans get something out of supporting you. They enjoy the end product you deliver and supporting the artist equals more of that product, faster and possibly in better quality. That's why Abbadon for example is already at over 2000$ per month and started his patreon just a few months ago.
It's kinda weird though.
>be well known on youtube, sfw animations, barely anyone donates to patreon
>do NSFW animations
I really just wanna do fun animations, not porn anymore. Beggars cant be choosers i guess.
That, or they just have a lot of people who love their stuff. The Pit launched just a couple of months ago and he's making roughly 1k a page.
I think people are much more likely to pay for art if they are going to use it for something other than just looking at it because it's pretty/amusing.
Education, games, fapping, etc.
If I start a patreon I want it to be for a webcomic but I don't know how to go about it. It takes time to draw the comic, time that I won't be doing commissions or other work and therefore not making money. I figure I need to draw some of it to get people interested first but I can't afford any lost income. I guess I'll just have to try and build up some money another way until I can coast a little.
i donate about 60$ every month to patreons and they fall into these categories:
>great tutorials from someone i like (my favorite is kawacy)
>something i really like (a webcomic, a specific fetish porn)
And yeah i would never donate to someone who just throws up whatever fanart or porn they draw. i'm sorry but get in line - your content is all over tumblr, da, exhentai, etc.
>living off commissions
>$400 a month
>this level of quality
patreon is your calling folks
How to get a good Patreon going on:
- Get a clean trace and a good female body knowledge and piece composition (feel free to copy someone and see what works for others, get those good poses from porn pictures as well). Start an alter-ego, you don't want your real identity to be known.
- Draw fetish porn and get an identity, and for that, you need a distinctive style and you might have to choose and be consistent to one or two fetishes only. I divide them into 3 categories of fanbase:
1 - Loli, incest (anime);
2 - Feet, dickgirls/traps, cartoons, furry, incest (westernized);
3 - Weird fetishes like feminization, sissy, vore, body expansion, fart, male pregnancy... you name it;
Fanbase 1: Biggest, but fans will not be very loyal to your trace and the competition is big. Your art level needs to be very high, and if you struck oil, it pays really good cash.
Fanbase 2: Relatively big and loyal fan base, they will cherish your drawings and signature, the art level necessary for success here is relatively high (or at least well polished), but nothing master-like (ex: Incase, Tekuho, jjfrenchie, Shadman, but high levels like Dmitry dominate the market and don't even need a patreon).
Fanbase 3: Small but the most loyal of them all (the weirder it is, the smaller the fanbase is, but a higher chance of each person signing on your Patreon), the competition here is almost 0, and you don't need a high art level at all (check /d/ or /aco/ sometime, and you will see how shit the artistic level is), but if you have good knowledge, they will really go crazy on your porn (most of the money is made on commissions here, but the monthly pay is good enough to focus time on it, but don't expect much).
- You need to get your name out there (this is the most important, and hardest part). Post your porn on FREE HENTAI SITES (according to the fetishes you chose), and keep on with a good frequency of at least 2~3 updates per week (it's a lot of porn there and you want to be seen on the fetish tag), you will have to start on your own (like you probably are right now). If you like the fetish you're drawing, it will help in this journey.
Examples of sites: gelbooru, xbooru, e621.net
- When you get a consistent "portfolio" on those sites, with an artist tag and a good number of "upvotes", it's the time to make a Patreon, and you start to put the link on your phone so people can go check it out.
- Don't forget to convince with your offers on the Patreon (like previews of works, full HD images, power to vote on which scratches gets to be drawn, a chance to make requests, and etc)
BE REASONABLE AND KEEP THE PRICES LOW. The first tier being 1R$ is mandatory, you can only make it 3R$ or 5R$ if you're confident that you're dominating a good niche. If you give good offers, you will grow faster, but show your art has value and be reasonable with your time.
Make good goals and start to seek to team up with other good artists too. Don't forget to make a work once and a while for free.
- Never stop studying and improving your traces and rendering, the better they get, the bigger the paycheck will be, you can count on that, just watch out for the uncanny valley.
There are guys doing the CRINGIEST ARTS EVER, very low frequency, and earning 500R$+ per month. Start now and get a good and big slice of the pie.
If you list that your patreon will have 18+ material at all, Patreon will not enable paypal as an option for you to receive payment. It's a programmed in barrier, not a matter of tricking paypal. And no you can't host adult material on your patreon without listing it as adult or patreon will get you instead. Supposedly they offer alternatives when you're setting up though.
1600 USD monthly for this.
See ic? We are having a patreon thread now.
And what did you do to one of most successful artist on patreon who could give us useful marketing advice?
You shit on him! (pic related)
Another opportunity of learning lost, fuck you ic... fuck you!
>end of the month
>someone will always decline a pledge
feels bad mang
>we finally knows who's the girl behind those boobs... xD
>kinda weird if you think that she still have her mask xD
>more than 600$ per month
>shitty waifu drawings
Who will be the brave anon to try it out? I'm still young to be a sexual sell out, it all looks so easy but I want some time of doing what I actually like and what non-fetish addict people would appreciate first. But after some time, and if someone here actually succeeds, maybe I'll try, I'm definitely gud enough for this shit.
The Pit got so fucking lazy with the years, would be already half more fine with this if his drawings were as good as his old comics, the ones now are garbage and undetailed as fuck, he's jus using his popularity.
What? really? how?
I won't even say "post ur work" or "post ur patreon" because most faggots here simply don't, but did you literally make a patreon today and got to 50$? how did you promote it? did you have a previous following?
I have a previous following i promoted it on my twitter of 600 followers. i do not have a deviantart and i dont tend to post my wip up, so that might be why? the idea of the patreon being exclusive stuff may have appealed to some.
i have made works in the past that i have charged for and my personal theory is people willing to pay money to see your art will keep doing it, and people who havent will not be so easy to persuade.
but again 50$ really isnt a lot so take the above at face value.
/pol/ mods are triggered by any reports related to christ chan or christianity in general, OC, drawthreads and board culture. these threads once made, gets deleted faster then CP
when mods starts to shit that hard on a board you know the board's gonna get axed soon.
your fault for being too much of an autist to put all of your aspie attention on a single poster.
I don't know how it works. Basically they pledge the highest reward and then when they get charged it get's declined. So either t hey signed up with a empty visa giftcard or something like that. They are still able to download everything though.
You have to manually remove them at the ned of the month in your patron manager. It shows who actually paid and who was declined.
Look out for anyone that goes for top tier pledges.
Oh, and then those people will post your shit online so people can pirate it all. I can't believe people actually pirate my videos. Like... come the fuck on. I'm not rolling in money here. I don't even make enough to live. Every pledge or video bought from me is literally 1 meal I get to eat.
>I can't believe people actually pirate my videos. Like... come the fuck on.
>surprised content is stolen by posting on the Internet
Boofuckinghoo. Did it ever occur to you that someone legitimately paid, downloaded/recorded and then shared with their peers who are also interested but don't give a fuck about you?
Can't you wait until their pledge goes through to deliver? Even if Patreon opens it up to people as soon as they pledge, can't you just wait to upload whatever it is until the next month? If you tell people up front that's what you're doing and that's what they're agreeing to by pledging, I feel like that would work.
you don't have the high ground here dipshit. Odds are your art is absolute shit and you get paid a whole $0 for it and your morals are in the trash.
you are figuratively a piece of shit. And literally no one cares that you exist. just think about that for a bit. Keep shitposting all day like you are use to but deep down you will know you are a fucking worthless faggot that no one cares about.
What does greed have anything to do with it? I fail to see how taking measures to keep people from stealing from me is greedy. In my regular commissions I always ask for payment up front, even if it's just a deposit. And like I said if you let people know that's how you prefer to work and you're not trying to willfully deceive them I don't see why it would be a problem for either side.
Wow. wait though on every patreon ive pledged to i get the good stuff via a message about 15 days into the month. so if they are declined you will know and they cant get the good stuff?
>I can't believe people actually pirate my videos. Like... come the fuck on. I'm not rolling in money here. I don't even make enough to live. Every pledge or video bought from me is literally 1 meal I get to eat.
Lel. Do you think pirates care? Do you think pirates only steal from the rich, that they only do it coz they dont have money, that they only do it to try it out and will pay if they like the product? LOL.
Do what you want coz a pirate is free!!!! Yarrrr Harrrr
People tend to see that 3 dollars is way more than 1 dollar.
We always think that we will never miss one dollar, check any Patreon, when it gets around, at least 500 dollars are of 1 dollar pledge.
And those are people that wouldn't pay any other price at all, they just like the art and want to feel part of a special group, their 1 dollar pledge is one of the things that will help your Patreon get around (and for 1 dollar you can put a small thing, like being able to see a log of news, getting to see some sketches you will publish on the log, sneak peek of projects and things like that, but no involvement, that might even make them go up in the ladder of pledge).
>you now have to be a manipulative piece of shit to be successful on the internet
Whatever happend to people being able to get a following just by having something they're good at and maybe a cool personality? When did this deceitful PR shit become obligatory?
It's generic anime. Unless he breaks and starts drawing straight up nudes and porn he won't get any sort of cash.
that's how Patreon for weebs work.
Is your Patreon the one with the alligators?
I'm just a random anon, but my input is that you have that graphic-design looking croc everywhere on your page, it makes your stuff look like a children's book graphic designer's page. I was genuinely confused when I clicked on the page, it doesn't look like an /ic/ page but a /gd/ page.
I would put one of your non-graphic design looking pieces on your Patreon/FB covers, because otherwise it takes a bit of scrolling to know you can actually draw rather than make cutesy grocery store-looking graphic design logos.
Can you please delete your patreon and make a new one when you have enough fans of your works? I was about to make one until i read the thread and saw yours. I shrivel to the thought and considers quitting art and moving on to a new venture.
I used to feel the same way, but people change when money gets involved. You can have a fanbase full of really cool people who are super supportive but if you even mention money in the wrong way they turn into harpies and tear you apart. So unfortunately even if you are the most chill genuine person with a fanbase who seems cool and like they really want to support you, you have to use some PR tactics when you talk about money, because people's brains just have a switch in their brain about this shit. We're all just animals.
You can do what most people do, and charge on a monthly basis (which is automated).
Or you can charge manually by making "paid posts". I use this method to do a bi-weekly thing. You can choose to send your Patrons "bundles" of everything you've drawn each time you charge them, or you can post a WIP whenever you feel like it.
It's all up to you. I was a piece of shit these past 2 weeks and didn't draw anything, so I chose to not charge my patrons for this upcoming cycle.
I will. Already decided. Under a different alias. Won't post my real name. I have no fanbase though. Don't post anything online.
What I do have though is dedication and two decades of experience with drawing w pencil and 14 years of experience with photoshop. I am somewhere between the pit and incase when it comes to skills. Definately not as rigid as the pit. I know.. You won’t believe me but I don't care. I just want to know where I start.
Which sites are good to gain a following on? Especially which site should I chose if my goal is to start an erotic comic w pin-ups of the different characters etc. My shit will be OC material mostly/ exclusively. Already have a story and characters etc. I'll keep you guys up to date when things are up and running.
Awesome, anon. Even if you go with that plan, try to stick to the two "how to" posts just to really test it. Can you have a trip for when you post here about it so we check your progress and know it's you?
I think I'll try it out. I draw an obscure fetish (chubby gay shota) and friends have fapped to my art so I know it's good enough. Will need to start over and make some mascot to lewd up. All my current lewd art is of characters attached to this safe for work alias. You can put shota on patreon right?
dude do you want to to collaborate with me? i got a huge following on my stuff but my art is pretty shit, if we team up, we can make big money, half and half, what do you say?
>Mostly fanservice drawings of sexy anime girls, complete with nipples poking through shirts and shit
>BUT I WON'T DRAW HENTAI
Either pick a lane and go all the way or fuck off with your 11 bucks, friendo.
how many are your "top tier" pledges?
From the beginning I had always had fake pledges be around 50% of every month. You can find a pattern after awhile in the names and which email service they use. I only had $50 in fake pledges this month.
I'm working to hit 500 followers to begin investing my time with Patreon.
may god hear my prayers, till then I'll just work on getting faster and learn from other artist's mistakes.
>forget about it. you pander too much to anime. $12 clone imminent
Look Anon, consistency and honest hard work always goes a long way with anything, I could draw stick figures for all I care. everyone likes different things.
in fact I know a friend who runs a successful youtube channel with stick fight animations. the man found inspiration from Newgrounds in the early 2000's and now he loves every minute of his creative process. the guy has developed a very unique style and his fans appreciate him for it.
personally I am not going to lie to myself and not do what I find fun. what about you? I happen to come from a specific artistic background and you don't happen to be fond of it, and that's okay.
you do you anon, you do you...
i dunno man. shitloads of people draw anime and believe me nobody loves spam.
you'll score $20 commissions every other week if you pander to anime and patreon's not going to help you get rich if you keep drawing weeabos
>i dunno man. shitloads of people draw anime and believe me nobody loves spam
it seems you don't comprehend the difference between knowledge and understanding. you believe that my work could be perceived as spam, and I say your are full of pessimistic trash that takes no interest in the value of others.
>patreon's not going to help you get rich
that was never my intention. I work a part time job to cover the bills while currently developing my webcomic, I only do fanart and pixel art on the side, this is not my focus but I find that fun.
I do this because I want to and because I want to share it. I'm still going to do it, and even if I fail then that's great. failure is a great tool for success.
if this is your point of view towards success then I wish you good luck because you are going to need it because you are going to end up alone.
It's not even close. And Kr0n has better camera. Why autists thinks they can RP as Kr0n? People can just ask you to post workspace photo or view from window, etc and you will forced to backpedalling. And >>2379508
was 100% drawn by nose bro whatever shitter. I seen similar style sketch in some thread
People don't get charged immediately so they can basically sign up and get access to all the content in your Patreon posts immediately, and some people either use a fake card or cancel their pledge right before the pay period and they don't have to pay. So basically some people pledge and cancel, repledge and cancel, over and over every month to get your content for free. This is why many people send out their content via message/email after payments have been confirmed, so it's protected, and new sign ups can't access all the old content without paying anything.
$20 for someone who's hardly consistent, rarely interacts with followers, and often vanishes off the face of the internet for weeks at a time?
I'm aware of the hole I've dug for myself.
What sort of collab did you have in mind? My answer will probably be no, but I'm really curious.
/pol/ drawfag that triggered metric tonnes of liberal cuckholds with his christ chan comics. Wound up getting heavy following due to the intense butthurt he caused, exposed the mods as redditors because they banned his comics and any /pol/ related OC from being posted everywhere.
Try posting his comics on /pol/ and the libshits light up like wildfire.
>tfw i will never have libshits hating my stuff and get lots of natsoc followers putting money in my patty
>you will never be a mustard monkey from southeast asia that spergs out so hard about the $50 he makes a month and shills his comic so hard that you will never make a single penny more
Feels good man
Is making new autistic enemies your plan to your success because if you continue doing this you're gonna get more exposure to your work and more people willing to pledge into your patreon
Was shilling on /ic/ to make these new autistic "enemies" part of your plan?
>Malaysia starts thread to ask himself for his patreon account
>InCase and other namefags get all the attention and no one pays him any
>Malaysia starts samefagging about being an amazingly popular upstart again
>>people know me because of my offtopic autist comic!
>its not because I spam various forum for hours every day
>>Im triggering those libfags!
>whines about bans on 4chan on his twitter like a libfag
>half the thread shitposting about this person
>read thread to know more about malaysia/christ chan guy
>realized Incase posted earlier and shared his wisdom
why are you assholes sperging on a complete nobody and not replying to actual artists
>patreon thread getting loads of replies
>read from bottom to up to know whats good
>everyone shitposting about this malaysia person
>intrigued as shit, wants to know more, google search about him and his comics
>then some dumbass said lmao malaysia nobody gives a fuk about you lol people are giving a shit about incase and other relevant people
>mfw i realized the thread couldve been legendary without these spergs shitposting about who gives a shit and his mediocre read the fucking sticky art
>be nice to everyone they said
>always back down when theres haters trying to shit on you en masse they said
>dont cause trouble they said
Jesus Christ. Looks like he doesn't even have tumblr and pixiv
I've seriously considered Patreon multiple times, being poor as hell makes that promise of additional money pretty enticing, but I can too easily see myself winding up a sub $10 embarrassment.
I have a decent following, I think about 6,000 now, but my work isn't focused, mainly just illustrations, character designs, and fan-art (which I've gathered people are disappointed I do).
like incase said, you need to give yourself an angle, a reason why your supporters are pledging money to you
christ chan guy for example, makes girl memes illustrations and comics so people pay him for that
I want to start a patreon too but I still have legwork to do. In the meantime I'm going to test the waters by doing streaming. If people start donating to or subbing to that sort of thing, I can gauge when I've gotten enough support to possibly start one and save myself some embarrassment. Just an idea I thought I'd share.
christ chan guy got 12 followers on twitter and 400 views on his Da
>down to 5$ per month
>at that level
>meanwhile a malaysian autists makes 10 times as much with shit that looks like drawn by a retarded 9 year old child first week of doodles, just being a lying, stealing and deceptive asshole
If the material is "degenerate" like young looking anime or furry porn pretty and you have no intend to ever use Patreon seriously for yourself pretty much nothing.
The samefagging autist here who keeps asking for his own patreon (now easily spotted by unintelligent "libshit" muttering) even stole another artists blog and directs people from there to his own Patreon, claims other artists OC as his own and is violating Patreon code of conduct on several accounts and he is still running.
At worst they will close your account due to complaints as long as you feign ignorance and you walk away with some cash.
If there is no one to sue... you can be a lying fraud and still make money of it. Its 2015+
all this christ chan "haters"
what are you niggers doing
is this a fucking joke
The replies look like they're from a different person.
I wouldn't be surprised if he got actual autistic haters prowling the entire website for any trace of his works and calls him out
>writing is art
>visual art is art
>music is art
>but when you combine all three with game design and programming it becomes not art
Actually yes. I don't think video games are art. Because everytime when autists bitching about something, developers hear them and makes changes. How it supposed to be art if it just mostly hardcore pandering to audience? There is no adult themes because they're "problematic". No sex and boobs because it's "problematic". But of course exceptions exist
Mods banned you for advertising and offtopic spam not because it was related to Chistianity and /pol/ OC.
You are shoving your patreon and blog every day into everyones face. No one needs to look you up.
But go on pretend you are a victim of a mod conspiracy and /ic/ jealousy and everyone who doesn't condone your stupid behavior is an 'aspie autist' and there are really people who rush to a trolls defense, who just happen to always use the exact same reflecting and projecting insults as you do.
Relax Malaysia, no one hates you. Do you think people hate Chris Chan when they post his Sonichu comic and ridicule him? You are being made fun of and laughed at, not hated. At leat for now. You do seem to get slightly on the annoying side lately.

>After animation, this is the next logical step. A fun, fluffy flash game featuring a futa-
I'm not the guy you're asking, but in US I believe it's filed as self employment, so feds get 15-20% of it. I've only just started one this year tho so I'm going to consult an accountant if it seems like something sustainable, to keep everything above board. But I'm pretty much 100% it's taxable income, unless your overall income in below a certain amount, but you still need to report it all; Paypal tracks it and reports it to the government, so if you try not reporting it you end up in jail or paying lots of fines. Could be different in your country but I would ask your tax guy about self employment income since I'm fairly sure it's categorized like that.
>that 'Additon of Anatomy' item in the Example of changes
what are things one can offer to teirs?
what should one do if it's been awhile but nothing is coming in?
what do you think is the better set-up of payment? bi-weekly or monthly
could a patreon cater to everything neutrally or have to chose a specific niche/fetish?
