Do everything opposite that /ic/ tells you to do.
>>
>>2372555
No but its the best way to understand movement and gesture.
>>
the best way to understand form is focusing all your atention on form

from there you can complicate your life on your own to keep being shitty
>>
>>2372559
But /ic/ told me to draw
>>
>>2372575
and you LISTENED to them?
>>
>>2372555
nope, sculpture is. Because you're actually thinking in 3D.
>>
>>2372555
It is if you draw every frame.
>>
>>2372589

That's what I was thinking as well, but where to start, really?

I think yes. Take a look at any good animator's drawings they always have a very good sense of form.

So you should only draw in symbols, not draw from life, not learn the fundamentals and only draw anime fanart?
>>
>>2372986
walk cycles, basic movements, stretches?

I started doing traditional animation for funnies and found that I have an easier time with poses that involve some kind of forshortening (arms/legs doing something, mostly).

It's not that I haven't (or don't) study form still, but understanding how a limb moves while interacting with something or moving has informed my illustrations greatly.

I wouldn't say "do this to learn that", but it's something that helps if you have an interest in it.

can you show an example of symbols drawing?

Paperman is actually 3D.

>>2373992
paperman had both 2d and 3d but that wasn't what the discussion was about
>>
>>2372575

>>
