If someone said you were 'way behind' other 18/19 year olds what would you do? It doesn't affect you and what you're capable of (or incapable of) worth a damn, so discard that line of thinking; focus on your own improvement now instead of being burdened by regret many years later.

Don't think about where you are compared to everybody else. You'll always find a ton of people that you can convince yourself are better in some way than you.

Just work, pay attention to your drawings and what's going well and what's going wrong and try to improve. You'll probably always beat yourself up and think you're shit but there will be moments when the clouds part and you see that you're getting better.

Also that drawing isn't bad and it even has a medieval woodcut print like quality. It'd help if you worked on your line quality. It'll force you to really think about how you render detail.

If you are 16-20 there is not yet a "behind"

you are in the prime age range to start taking art seriously, as you still have enough years, say 4, to be able to produce professional tier work before you enter the work force

You can practice all by yourself if you just torrent them books and actually practice with them, and with cheap online courses like CTR+Paint that cost 10$ per course you can also master digital art.

I don't know how poor you are but I doubt you are poorer than me, I literally live in a post-USSR shithole that is in a worse economic state than Uganda and my household of 8 people earns like 300$ per month.
Yet I still managed to collect enough to eventually buy a wacom tablet.

Being behind is a fucking stupid concept. The only downside to start drawing later in life is that you'll have less time to practice.

Your age is completely irrelevant. You can't be "behind" because there is no standard. The vast majority of adults draw like shit after all.

You should judge your skill level based on how much time you've put in. Maybe check out the progress thread and compare yourself to other anons.
