We post artists who we want to surpass or reach someday.
Dan Luvisi/Simon Stalenhag
I know he gets posted here all the time, but when I can do this caliber of work, I'd be satisfied with my work.
When it comes to character design, Jin Kim
For animation it's Glen keane
i want to render ala Hyung Tae-kim
Peter Lee Blizzard Entertainment
One of the most imaginative artists, talented with actually putting soul into work.
Piping hot latest artpiece.
A work much older than the former two, wonderful nevertheless. I wish to be like her - not so much even in terms of cold skill, but in terms of heart, wonder and most vivid imagination.
Well one clearly won't mistake those elves, dragons and forests with those of any other artist.
Fantasy may be an old subject, and the newest cg trends are different, but its how she handles the theme is quite unique, you wont mistake it.
>mfw notice love and care on her pictures
>think that she probably has caring family and good friends so it's visible on her pictures
1) one anon goes confused UM....WHAT???UH...EXPLAWN...!1
2) the other goes buttmad with LMAO HE'S JUST JEALOUS MUH EXCUSESXDDDDDD
>>le dragons and elves in the forest
I actually agree. Im russian and a part of that russian society of fantasy artists and "A girl sleeping with a dragon" or "a bunch of fantasy critters jumping and playing music" is nothing original. It's a Spacemarine level of "faery tale/fanatsy artists community".
And there's nothing under the moon, still. Simplyfiyng a complex picture with thought put in to "a bunch of jumping critters" is one way to put it. That's a cynical point of view, but what good and wonderful a cynic can do? He can only destroy and mutilate.
He goes like this.
>What do we have here?
>Oh, it's just a guy looking over a bunch of random hoes-mermaids. Very not original.
Then he looks at Shishkin
>Oh it's just a forest.
Then he looks at Aivazovsky
>Oh, it's just a sea
Then he looks at Waterhouse
>Oh it's just a bunch of hoes in old-ass myths, that got old in renaissance already.
That type of guy is the worst. He just can't emotionally enjoy art as it is, rationalizing it. Makes me wonder why do these even bother making art.
yep, anyone can trivialize something to try and make themselves sound "above" it. some real smart-ass philistines would go as far to call it all "just paint on a canvas, pointless and stupid"
but of course pointing out what something is in a very basic way isn't criticism at all.

People who say shit like this, ironically or not, need to be lined up and shot.
You shouldn't be calling anyone childish in later posts when you post kiddy tripe like this.
"Deeps and Skies"
solid cast glass
Sometimes i feel im really close and next day it seems like im a decade behind
I can somewhat see where you are coming from, it's not his best, but what I think he does extremely well is making a painting look very realistic which such simplistic looking brush strokes.
That faggot who painted Morgan Freeman and got called out for photobashing.
I really never cared about that. I might become jealous of people my level getting more attention than me, but in the end the only one that I want to surpass is just myself. placing myself on the same potential level of great masters is insulting for them, and anyway its not that I aim at becoming the best artist in the world. I just want to win myself
man i love pencil sketches, would kill to have marko djurdjevics pencil skills
yeah, and ruans painting skills
Chuck Close. At some point though you gotta think photocopies are easier
shows a good visual library, but I'm not a fan of this video. It's a lot like the " just draw the rest of the fucking owl" image in a sense. He seems to act like he never did the left in his process of growing, or that the left is never an early step to full rendering on the right. Interesting to a more advanced artist but potentially toxic to a beginner
For now. i just want to get to her level.
its Hiromu Arakawa
i fell in love with this piece, i really want to be as good as Kuvshinov Ilya.
